How do people hate zexal? Honestly my favorite of the yugioh series, great story of Yuma and the barian arcs, and had some of the best opening and endings
I guess , but I really don't like Zexal and Yuma is by far my least favorite YGO protagonist, even if the story is good or not , that doesn't change my opinion on him cause his voice is extremely annoying no matter which version and same can be said for Yusaku which is a very close second and I am not saying that he's bad , but his personality really lets it down for me and it's not my cup of tea , not to mention link summoning is probably my least favorite summoning method by a landslide .
....Still don't care about link summoning , I don't like it with a passion and I am not trying not to rude here , but I have a personal preference for the other methods.

I was wondering the same thing and it's not that I enjoy pendulum which I do , but even then , they are screwed when link monsters came into play and they are still making cards as of today , its so confusing all over the place .

my favorite ending in yugioh ever tbh. i had such a fun time with zexal, and felt a lot of emotions once i got to where this ending started. rip those we lost in the zexal, and i really hope this show gets more love
I love all yugioh series , but Yuma is best example of "main character growth " , all the protagonists started their series being badass , Yuma had to learn from zero , and until now he is the character with the biggest atk points reached in all series . He's not a character who always wins and that's is GOOD , because he really learned something during his trip
Zexal is not only a great yugioh anime, it's also a very good anime in general. I really liked the theme of bonds vs destiny, which was set up it the first part and then completed in Zexal II with Yuma and Astral vs the Barian emperors. Shark in particular since he's also the first duelist Yuma goes against in the very first episode. This ED is the peak of everything that happened in this series
ZEXAL is by far my super favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! series and card generation. I totally love the characters, the friends, the atmosphere, the XYZs, the strategies, the cards, the plot, literally everything. I lovely keep the nicest memories of the good times watching ZEXAL. It has slowly become part of me.
I like how in Zexal almost none of the characters were wasted. I mean, in this ending we see super minor characters like Hayami Shuta and the Kunitachi brothers, and they only appeared for like 1-2 episodes.
I like how they changed this ED's visuals every time a major character would die, first with arclight brothers then with Girag, Alito, Merag and Durbe, then with Kaito, then with Vector and Mizael then finally with Shark/Nash
Love the hall of Number monsters as a final goodbye. For all the flack ZeXal gets, I enjoyed how it stayed focused on the Number cards the whole way through.
Ya know? looking back...the only thing i wished they did back during their final duel is actually do what this ending did and SHOW EVERYONE watching the duel, would have made it that more epic and heartwarming seeing how far the boy has come :) UPDATE lol nevermind thx to the good eyes of rob19ny , he told me that Tobio and Umimi's baby appears in this ending! meaning that this grand duel is probably in the future after the last episode! Good stuff!

Every once in a while I come back to this playlist with all the openings and endings and just rewatch all of them. Watching Zexal as it aired was such a formative experience, it was the first anime I've watched (excluding the ones from my childhood) and I remember having a fantastic time in the fandom, as well as making friends I still talk to to this day! Back then everyone hated it, people used to say it was the worst Yugioh series, that Yuma sucked, etc lol. I'm glad to see popular opinion has turned around! Zexal is such a special anime with great themes and a very good story, and I have so many great memories from it ;;
Fusion, Dimension, XYZ, Standard(Pendulum).... Long ago, the 4 dimensions lived in peace and armony, but everything changed when The Fusion Dimension attacked...
After watching both seasons, zexal has way more lore than you think with how the numbers are basically personas like F0 for Yuma that represent something and the astral/Barian worlds. Edit: that’s so cute how they literally have every single character, no matter how minor, show up in the final frame like comic book guy, the two thugs who had volcasaurus and freezadon, and dog girl
People say that ZeXal has no plot and it's only a commercial, but you know what series has no plot? GX. I love GX, but it doesn't have an actual plot. Each season is its own separate thing.

One of the most emotional spin offs right up there with 5D's. Has a few retcons regarding the Numbers but that even works for the better since it makes for a more dynamic unfolding of events. Great plot twists. The pacing is decent compared to other spin offs. The writing has flaws as per usual with YGO but it stays at a relatively decent quality with more ups than downs. Character development is not great, but the characters are really likeable. Amazing intros/outros as well as OSTs! Duels are stand battle for most cases and a bit boring but then again duel scripts nowadays do not stray too far from the usual BS we know and have to accept lmao. The villains are simply the best thing about it, with the exception of Faker, lol. The Arclights and the Barians are something else. If you don't like Zexal, you need to know what you're missing out on. Man I feel so nostalgic rewatching these ops and ends. I really miss Zexal. Here's to hoping the seventh series will make these feelings I used to have torwards the series return! (Vrains is... Very bland I can't stand it. As for Arc V, while I enjoyed the first 50 eps, the rest (especially the last 50 eps) made me want to wipe its existence from memory)

I dont know why people hate Zexal... It has the best ending, the first couple with yuma & tori, the best villain with vector, emotion and great openings. I think ist way better than Arc V and Vrains ( the best on Vrains was revolver XD ).
Zexal ended up growing onto me, like really. The second half, aka Zexal Second is surprisingly good in terms of themes, stakes and character growth (especially Yuma, which at the start was a god awful duelist by protagonists standarts but ended up becoming one of the mosts interestings MCs). The thing is tho, i can sorta understand why most people can't stand this series. First season was overall lackluster and a slugfest, especially during the inicial 26 or so episodes. Yuma is an obnoxius moron, Astral is rather bland for a deuteragonist, the Numbers Club members are uninteresting, we get introduced to characters like Robin and Anna only to have them dissapear for most of the show, there's a lot of filler regarding the number hunting thing, Shark exists as a rival that only won once against the mc and until the Arclight Brothers don't show up there's nothing substancial going up in the plot. Until then, the only major highlight is Kaito, not only for his presence and elite duel skills, but because how his subplot regarding the motive for hunting Number cards ends up. And while i stand by the fact that s1 is really bad, that doesn't mean i hadn't enjoyed watching the whole series. The animation is downright great minus the ocasional CGI boss monsters, although it's better than the 3D used in 5ds i still prefer the 2D drawings. OST and by extension the OPs and EDs are absolute bangers and like i said before s2 is a direct improvement from s1 yet it's up to you if you want to sit through the slow start in order to enjoy this installment. And i'm of course talking about the subbed version, or the japanese dub if you will. The english dub only makes the issues from the early stages of the show even worse thanks to it's terrible localization.
I wish they did one last season to show everyone going against that hand thing at the end. More than that I wanted to see a good Vector working along side everyone.
I'd like to see Alito and Gauche as friends. I could see them sharing a handshake and Alito apologizing to Gauche to what he did to him hahahaha. I dont know why people hate Zexal... It has the best ending, the first couple with yuma & tori, the best villain with vector, emotion and great openings. I think ist way better than Arc V and Vrains ( the best on Vrains was revolver XD ).

Zexal ended up growing onto me, like really. The second half, aka Zexal Second is surprisingly good in terms of themes, stakes and character growth (especially Yuma, which at the start was a god awful duelist by protagonists standarts but ended up becoming one of the mosts interestings MCs).
The thing is tho, i can sorta understand why most people can't stand this series. First season was overall lackluster and a slugfest, especially during the inicial 26 or so episodes. Yuma is an obnoxius moron, Astral is rather bland for a deuteragonist, the Numbers Club members are uninteresting, we get introduced to characters like Robin and Anna only to have them dissapear for most of the show, there's a lot of filler regarding the number hunting thing, Shark exists as a rival that only won once against the mc and until the Arclight Brothers don't show up there's nothing substancial going up in the plot. Until then, the only major highlight is Kaito, not only for his presence and elite duel skills, but because how his subplot regarding the motive for hunting Number cards ends up.
And while i stand by the fact that s1 is really bad, that doesn't mean i hadn't enjoyed watching the whole series. The animation is downright great minus the ocasional CGI boss monsters, although it's better than the 3D used in 5ds i still prefer the 2D drawings. OST and by extension the OPs and EDs are absolute bangers and like i said before s2 is a direct improvement from s1 yet it's up to you if you want to sit through the slow start in order to enjoy this installment.
And i'm of course talking about the subbed version, or the japanese dub if you will. The english dub only makes the issues from the early stages of the show even worse thanks to it's terrible localization.
Zexal and GX have easly the best endings in the franchise. No questions asked. 5D's is a close third place thouhg.
I wish they did one last season to show everyone going against that hand thing at the end. More than that I wanted to see a good Vector working along side everyone.
