Man I know I'm getting old when two secs in I recognize its the theme song to the Exorcist and these young fellas have no clue haha. Love seeing classic sample techniques mesh with new generation production.
@@BeakFoundry yeah all the old school producers that take their samples from the same songs and use them in the exact same ways are so much better am i right
Loved watching them tag out. No words, they just knew when it was time for the other one to contribute. Very cool use of samples from sections most people on here don't go into, too.
I swear these hihat patterns nowadays sound like when we first started using step sequencers when downloading Fruity Loops for the first time in 2000 or so...
I remember browsing CNET around 2002 (for some reason they had an audio software section) and downloading one of the first versions with the Aaliyah - “Try Again” demo playing upon opening the program, which was like magic to me. Trying to re-create Master P - Burbons and Lacs and various Three Six Mafia songs..now they are “speed running” beats for content. This has become super stale.
First time I've heard of Rio, those drums were knocking and actually had a sort of offbeat flare to it that really worked well. Percs were going insane.
@@themayne6303 They sound like all the clones who try to sound like them. When they talk about Ai music putting people out of work, it's these FL studio template producers who better start looking for a new profession.
Yea, it doesn't take long to loop a section of a sample, and throw the same generic drum and 808 patterns that you've thrown on hundreds of other beats. 2 minutes tops.
@@artkitectbeats1622 that drum pattern was not generic lol they couldve just done a 2 step hihat and put the claps on 2 and 4 but rio made it way more bouncy and unique

Ik instantly grew up watching that movie & the 7 faces of doctor lao
Who told you the have no clue..? Just because they didn’t adress that it’s from the exorcist?
c'mon man, everyone but them know the Exorcist theme, been sampled a hundred times.
Do either of them look like they seen the Exorcist?😂
I’m 25 and I even knew that was from the exorcist 😂
Rio and Nick is such a wholesome duo. They are so naturally entertaining
Rio’s drums are always so insane 😭
You mean are the same, not insane.
@@Mike_Benz_ No, I meant what I said. Lol. Listen to more of his beats and you’ll notice there’s actually quite a lot of variety

Tubular bells is literal ICONIC Vinyl. that is a holy grail.
Yup have it in the stash
the way he dropped the needle i almost cried lol
Recognized the Tubular Bells sample immediately.
Nas - Self Conscience
Camron - Losing weight pt 2
M-Phazes - It's working

That's because they ARE using the step sequencers in fruity loops that we used for the first time in 2000 or so. Lol.

What a crossover 🔥
That really felt like a genuine and proper blend of multiple random samples. Its feels rare in this challenge. well done
