Fun Fact about the support columns of Baron, is that B&M enjoyed the idea of the park so much they helped Efteling design the support columns to fit the mining theme to be structurally sound. The park wanted to design the mine tower around the normal B&M columns but B&M said, nah we got you.

The reason Joris en de Draak (George and the dragon) was and is closed is maintenance. The Efteling is open year-round and this GCI is pushed to the brink. They are replacing certain sections with the titan track to make the coaster more durable for the heavy use.
The flying dutchman is my favorite ride at the efteling, the story, the music and the atmosphere is just 10/10!

Great episode, was waiting for this one. Understand the comparison to Disney, but the big difference that i always noticed between the 2 is that the Efteling doesn't try to maximize their profit, giving the park a more genuine feel.
What I also like about Efteling is that the theming on rides more often focus on ambience and make you feel part of the scene. While Disney feels the need too much to drop animatronics in the scene that tell a literal story. Eftelings approach has, in my opinion, a way better effect in creating mystery and atmosphere.
The Efteling is founding an profit is not nr. 1.
The efteling owns a very large forest area that is under their protection, there are rules that the efteling must adhere to.
In addition, I think Disney has more turnover, but Efteling has more profit, Efteling is very profitable in the theme park world. Attractions are usually built without bank loans.
Naar mijn mening is de natuur in de Efteling iets wat het park heel speciaal maakt vergeleken andere attractieparken, Disney voelt veel nepper mdat het niet zoveel natuur heeft.
Another big element to Efteling's genuine 'feel' is their use of building materials. If a building looks like it is made of bricks and wood, it is actually made of bricks and wood. And not sculpted, painted concrete.
The comparison to disney is because walt disney got its inspirations from this park.

Been waiting for this one. It's a bucket list park for sure. Especially for dark ride fans.

Heck yeah talk about an Efteling Redemption arc. I'm so glad you guys found the time to revisit this place and experience more of its strong suits. I mean knowing you guys only had half a day there its of course limited how much one can really do but considering that, it looks like you guys had a great visit there! Personally Joris en de Draak might be one of my favorite woodies but then again its the only GCI I've ever experienced. It was certainly my favorite overall coaster in the park.
Efteling is one of my bucket list places to go (as are a lot of the places y'all went to on this trip) so thank you for taking us along for the ride. I know things have been wild for you two lately but I am so beyond thankful for what you do and the joy you bring to us!!! Keep on rollin' :)

Efteling is not the Dutch Disneyland as the Efteling exists longer than Disneyland. Efteling opened the doors in 1952 while Walt had an idea in 1948 to open his own park which opened a few years later than the Efteling. He visited the Netherlands for a studio tour, but he might also have been to the Efteling to get some inspiration. Walt visited other parks for that reason. Great filming skills and review of the park. Well done!
This is my favorite theme park because I think it balances thrill and family VERY well. Better than disney land in my opinion
If you go again, then go in november on a Tuesday or Thursday, because it will be super quiet and aquanura in the dark alone is worth it

I don't know why but that themeing and onboard audio just made me feel like a kid again having the best time of it's life. I wish you could experience that too. In my opinion Efteling is an allround even better park than the Orlando parks. The fact alone that you not wait 90+ minutes for most rides and it feels more relax make it!
Efteling did most things better than other big parks. Employees, Emotions, Quality ... nearly perfect
The park is pretty but the working conditions are very poor...
Taylor pronounces "Droomvlucht" almost perfectly, proceeds to call himself out for not speaking Dutch... give yourself some credits (hehe) man ;)

My looked forward to video! This is definitely my dream park! I have a weird obsession with this place even though it doesn’t have a lot of roller coasters and it’s mainly bc of its fantasy and fairy tale theming which I’m in love it! Such a great video and beautiful park! I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Me im dutch ofc ofc. I love this park much and i also go there every year i mean yeah you cant expierience everything in one day. But the efteling is also so great because its not too coporate they arent planning to make another park or something and the fun part is they started i think as a natural park i think and it grew and grew but they still follow the rules like they cant build their coasters higher then a certain point a certain section cant be bulid on etc. And it also improves like u can see from top symbolica has solar panels, they removed a ride with a black canibal, also the small world thing they made that better and they putted some brown elves in droom vlucht etc etc. And the style of the park is unique like the only atraction without a theme is probaly python and thats still a cool coaster, also love that the fairytales are more closer to the original version then disneyland does. And ofc that they dont have to separate classes of visitors (this happens with fastpass).

Yeah Efteling is incredible, basically the greatest dark rides in the world. Symbolica I find is better than Rise of the Resistance, Droomvlucht is the best ‘old school’ dark ride in the world with its animatronics, and vliegende Hollander is probably the coolest water ride in the world (despite being on the shorter side). Fun fact, Efteling sees almost as many visitors per year as Europa Park which is incredible considering they have less than half the rides of Europa Park. Definition of quality over quantity.

Symbolica was amazing Sloan. I'm not even a dark ride person and that blew me away. DroomVlught was amazing too. I also saw some coaster track at the end and wondered if some people would class it as a credit lol. Efteling exceeded my expectations.
I grew up going to the Efteling before I moved to the US. It's so cool to see you guys there. Fata Morgana scared me for sure when i was little. Python was the first loop coaster I ever rode.

We are visiting Efteling for the first time in October. Loads of people have said it’s a beautiful park. Really looking forward to it as we are doing one night onsite too.
Once again another park I didn't know much about and have now added to my bucket list. Seems like such a unique ride collection. I need to win the lottery so I can quit my job and do all of these amazing looking parks!

I'm gonna be honest, this is a really good park. I really like it so much.
I remember watching your Efteling review before my visit and I'm glad I did, since it set the expectations (and the must do fairy tale forest that you missed out on based on the comments I was reading). Had an amazing day there and Symbolica blew my mind!
Fun fact: there's also a Hardwell version of the Baron 1898 theme 😂

When you said "It's the... I don't know what that is", I assume you're talking about the entrance building. It's called the "huis van de vijf zintuigen", which translates to "house of the five senses".

Cramming Efteling into a half day? Like no wonder you missed so much your first time around. For a newcomer this is a two day park to see properly. Feel sorry for Sarah having been rushed through it.
Looks like they were lucky with the crowds. Except for Villa Volta they have done all the major attractions.

We definitely got lucky with the crowds! While having a bit more time would've been nice, we definitely made good use of the time that we had.
Be a 3 day park by 2030, they got planning permission to expand large areas at both ends of the park (to the right of the theatre and the land between the motorway and the park. Can't wait to see what they do with those areas, their theming is always great hopefully they add a couple of top tier thrilling coasters along with another couple of dark rides to rival symbolica
@@stevepage4504 Should be something interesting. Its not like they have a shortage of accommodation types around the place already. That plot next to the motorway is definitely big enough to host a big coaster if they wanted. Was just having a look at it in GoogleMaps. They must be salivating over all that land to their south and west that is a golf course ;)

To me Vogel Rok was basically another version of Temple of the Night Hawk (now Crazy Bats) at Phantasialand

The entrance is called the house of the five senses and it has five peeks and the glas at the bak has all the rides of the efteling in colord glas mozaics. its a newer building and they have been busy relaying the roof. And its older then disney parks.

Now that I watched this, it’s time to watch ElToroRyan’s problematic coasters: Drachen Fire.
OFF topic: August is an entire snack. Matt is super handsome as well. They both have fun, relatable personalities that are low-key sexy. ON topic: The park is exceptionally beautiful and meticulously well maintained.
While I understand why Efteling is compared to Disney, I think the natural surroundings, the level of maintenance, the use of 'real' building materials and their much darker (and closer to the original fairytales) tone clearly sets it apart. You can feel Efteling goes for quality everywhere, not quantity (even though it's huge) and for families not maximum thrill.
Will there be an Efteling re-review? Because your opinions have change about this park?

@@zpir1t427 Dutchy here i wasn't thta dissapointed in it i'm a big coaster fan and although i love efteling (its me homepark) coasterwise it kind of sucks. Now i don't want it turned into a cheap thrill ride park they could do with 2 really decent ones. doesn't have to be top level but a intamin double laucher and something like the new vecoma invert would fit in nicely. Ooo and get rid of python and clone Lech coaster (i know its sacrelidge but that would make up a perfect line up for the park in my opnion).

There used to be plans for a circus-themed launch coaster before the pandemic. This is not on RCDB anymore, but it used to be. We don't know if those plans are still in the works.

I've actually been to Efteling with my (now departed) Dutch grandparents back in 1993. Don't remember much of it besides Python and the automat cafeteria they had at the time (I'm guessing that's not there anymore.) Sounds like I need to go back though, it seems like a very impressive park now.
They still have the automatiek cafetaria stuff at the park. The snacks shown in the vid u can get "from the wall" at multiple places as well beside just ordering them.

I feel like Taylor doesn’t appreciate these rides enough, or rides at other parks as well. As an example at walabi Belgium after they rode calamity mine, all they could talk about was that it was a knock off of big thunder mountain, and they didn’t say anything about what wonderful theming it had and the fact that it looks better than 90 percent of all other mine trains.
This is fair- we definitely should've given that ride more credit. It can be hard sometimes to remember that not everybody gets to travel around and do all of these different attractions. I definitely think we take it for granted sometimes.

one thing that keeps annoying me is that people are calling efteling "the dutch disneyland" Efteling is older than disneyland thus, it's actually the french efteling, or any other country that has a disneyworld/disneyland in it.
