Thanks, I did this today. It’s really straightforward (also from the top) and allows me to grind a bit coarser while still aiming for 18in/42out at 25sec. It’s more balanced from what I can see after the first few shots (went from 10.6ish to 9.3ish bar)
I changed opv setting from factory ~11.2 bar to around 10.2 bar. Done in few tries. Next day it is back automatically at 11 bar. Alien technology indeed.
Does Lelit MaraX work with higher pressure than 9,5 my machine is setup? For example 12 bars. I was wondering if I could set it to 12 bars and use flow control kit to keep it around 9 bars most of the time. I noticed that while 9,5 is most likely optimal for most beans, some beans extract much more flavor and crema with my Gaggia classic. I found online comparison with diferent pressures and they came to same conclusion. So would Lelitinsider know if setting OPV on MaraX to 12 bars and using Flow contol kit to mostly keep pressure at 9,5 bars allow more range on brew pressure? And would this be ok for internal components of Marax?
If it’s reading 10 bars at the pump gauge then the actual brew pressure will be around 9 bars. It looses more or less one bar from what the pressure gauge reads to what it’s actually happening with the brew pressure at the group head. I’m sure it is in the best interest of Lelit to setup the brew pressure from factory setting to brew the best coffee possible don’t you think and especially when they didn’t add an external easy adjustable OPV. Based on what I have seen, it varies from machine to machine but usually the gauge will read something like 10.5 bars but if you measure the pressure at the group head using a specific device for that then you’ll see how it’s actually around 9 bars.
Seriously, after reading about this knowing that at the group pressure is about 1 bar lower my pressure with a blind basket was slightly over 11 bar when I checked. With 10 at the gauge I probably wouldn't have messed with it but since I struggled with channeling a bit even with careful puck prep I lowered it and it helped.
Hello! Thank you for making these videos, they're very informative. Would it be possible for you to upload a video on how to drain the boiler on the Mara (PL62), for long term storage, or transport? Thanks!
As an owner of a MaraX I would really appreciate that video as well now that summer comes and the machine will have no use during a month! Thanks for your videos!!
A question: to replace the lower temperature probe, does the machine have to be turned upside down? What procedure needs to be done? I have a problem with the steam which is max at 1 bar, is it better to replace the two steam probes or is the upper steam probe enough? Thank you
Compliments. I have the same machine, from 2021, how can I increase the steam pressure? To make cappuccino at 63/65°, I use about 70/80" (A little too much perhaps). Thanks
hi lelit insider my Marax have a problem, the pressure pump does not reach to 9bar but stuck at 4-5bar, even though I have tried setting the opv valve but it still doesn't work, is there a solution?
May I ask, why did you change the pressure? I have got the Mara X for one week and the pressure while pulling a shot goes perfectly up to 9 bar. When I do the cleaning with backflushing it goes to 10 bar. So I think it's perfect like this, isn't it?
Mine came with a setting of about 11 bar (!). Espresso was still good, though. But now I got beans which are way too fast in the brewing even with the finest setting of my Eureka. This vid helped a lot - never thought that the adjustment was that easy. Kudos to Lelit to have it that easy way.
hi, some users want more pressure, someone less, for this reason the opv valve is adjustable, it depends to the coffee tastes, for example, some users want 12 bas pressure , and someone 8-9!
Hi guys, wondering if you could help: While pulling a shot, there is water coming out of the OPV drain tube (into the drip tray). I see here that this is normal with a blind portafilter, but should it happen when extracting coffee? Thanks a lot

Hi. Great video :)…. is there any valve to control steam pressure? My Mara Pl62xT. is at 0,8 - 1,0 max and I do not know how to regulate it, could You help me :)
Io ho lo stesso problema in cui la pompa di erogazione si blocca per qualche secondo sul 2 e il caffè fuoriesce sempre sul 4, mai intorno ai 7-8 bar. Dipende dalla valvola OPV?
Thank you again for another great video showing us how we can customise our machines! Fantastic work. Can I ask, have Lelit considered making a change to the OPV drainage hose location? It is not necessary for it to go to the drip tray, many other companies will send the water back to the pump/water tank junction. I just got one of these last week and the pump is wildly inconsistent. It started out 10bar on backflush, now down under 9.5ish. And my shots are pulling anywhere from 4 to 8.5 bar with exact same beans and grind settings. Disappointed in this 2k machine.
Thanks, I did this today.

Shouldn't this machine come set from the factory at 9 bar? I know that the Pl 62 S is set at 9 bar. Why is it set al 10 bar?

12mm

my Marax have a problem, the pressure pump does not reach to 9bar but stuck at 4-5bar, even though I have tried setting the opv valve but it still doesn't work, is there a solution?
Thank you for useful video before I get confuse how to increase and decrease thank you very much
Hi , may I know is it 3.6mm or 36mm? A 36mm wrench width is very big. Able to advise? Thanks.
wow! now i know how to adjust brewer pressure
Hi!
Thanks for informing. Can I use a long 36 mm pipe and a ratchet for unscrew the nut in the lower part of the group outlet?
the nut is 36-36.2mm, be careful to do not scratch

Hello why isn't this done at the factory? Espresso is suppose to be brewed at 9bars.
What else can we do to get the right pressure? Coarser grind?

I haven't had any issues with mine. Maybe your tamping is inconsistent? Usually it's operator error.
