Ignoring the fact I had to be in the bathroom for hours on straight... One of the worst things about the preperation was the fact that I was cold ALL THE TIME due to my body being so empty... I could be under 3 blankets and still shaking like a leaf.
The actual procedure wasn’t so bad. I was awake the whole time. It didn’t hurt that much, mostly just slight pressure when they applied air in, and it was actually kind of fun to watch what the insides of my body looked like from the screen. When they took samples it only felt like a small pinch, though it was a little scary to see the slight bleeding since it looked bigger on the screen than it actually was.
My doctors were really nice too and were constantly asking if I was hurting anywhere and we even joked around a bit before the procedure started. It’s been 2 years since I had colonoscopy but it’s still one of my favourite memories from a hospital

The worst part of the procedure is the preparation, as you have to drink ALL of this horrible tasting laxative the evening before, and are up and down all night going to the toilet. You cannot eat or drink anything except water after that, so try to get the earliest appointment you can, because you will be starving. You will be given a sedative, and will not remember the procedure at all. You will need someone with you to drive home, and stay there during your procedure. (Must be an adult). After eating, you will just want to "crash and burn" for a few hours. That's about it.

Agree, prep was the worst part. Even though I was fully concious without any sedatives or painkillers. No pain at all, just discomfort.

:50 "These polyps may be normal (also called "benign")"... Polyps are not "normal". A benign polyp simply means that the polyp is not cancerous, but it is still considered abnormal, and consitutes a positive colonoscopy.

Yes, they should sedate you. Sometimes they anesthetist doesn't sedate enough so you may feel a bit of pressure.

Don’t be scared, I’ve done 3 exams within the past 3 years and will be doing a 4th one this coming Wednesday. They will be sedating you so you’ll be feeling nothing at all. Having only a clear liquid diet the day before and drinking the bowel cleansing solution were the only inconveniences. The benefits of having this exam far outweigh the preparation. You’ll be fine and best of luck!🙂

z singh M I I’m having mines today I’m in my early 30’s. What I did was not eat anything solid a couple of hours before the prep. Well I sneaked a piece of bread. I drank the prep from 4-5 pm and I woke up today at 1am could not sleep so I dranked the other litter that was left. The bowel movement should be yellow clear and you should be able to see the bottom of your toilet bowel. Well hope everything goes well today. And same to you. God bless.

I did a colonoscopy last. Month, after putting off doing so for more than then years. It was a cinch. The.prepration is more bothersome ,than the prosedure. If you need to have it done. Go ahead .set ur mind at rest. Take it from me.there is noting to it.

Sorry mr Singh! I was advised one yesterday as I observed blood in stool.Doctor advised me colonoscopy and did not explain anything before the procedure.Din't even bother to provide any prior diet or medication. So what followed in the operation theatre was a shock to me and while 2 young nurses and a old.lady held me by some force the doctor tried inserting a tool in my rectum. It did feel very embarrassing as well as lil painful when the pipe went beyond anus and rectum region and started touching my intenstines so I panicked and ordered the doctor to stop it immediately and better give me some medicines first for some days before it could be analysed that the illness continues If it is a general fissure or wound.Let it be healed. So he blamed me for behaving like a baby and aborted the procedure and gave me ultrasonic abdomen and kidneys and liver and spleen and all checkups which have come a s normal.I have taken 2 times medicine from him and my blood symptom have vanished as per now.The medication is of 5 days and then we will decide whether the colonoscopy that could save my life if it is indeed some cancerous growth or non cancerous growth. Then I would prefer going to a doctor who gives me some sedative ,prepares me by giving a diet plan and medicines to flush out the colon system ln a nut shell,if I am ready to get the process done,,he should also be taking me into confidence and do it exactly as the book says while ensuring that the pain and discomfort is at minimal.Who would want to lie down naked with his ass exposed to 2 unmarried girls half your age. Please choose your hospital and doctor carefully. In my case ,I am sure the doctor and hospital least cared about hygiene and hospitality.I found a broken glass injection bottle just near the theatre table, all the sheets were blood stained, the equipment's were rusty and the decision to conduct colonoscopy was not mutual.I never knew what was going to be done would be so embarrassing .I was kept in dark. The good thing is having come through this video which shows how it can be done properly without any discomfort. please confirm the process matches the same the moment you need a colonoscopy. Good wishes to you and me !! Wanna add a thing that the doctor had just carried out a colonoscopy on a 70 year old sardar ji and he was almost ok with it .I was told that this is how I should have taken it. But all are not born same. Perhaps my anatomy is different

Yes, I had two. I’m 29 but had them due to abdominal pain and a family history of colon cancer. The prep is MUCH worse than the actual procedure.
