Man, I'm surprised there isn't a Siivagunner-style mashup between SLTS and Jesus Freak. I guess it's pretty hard to isolate some of the parts in these songs given their releases.

Por isso o DC TALK era perfeito. Conseguia harmonizar perfeitamente diferentes influências.
@@beav15 They are pretty close, but the vocal melodies are entirely different and, by Kurt's own admission, he was trying to rip off the Pixies with his song. So I think we can give DC Talk a pass.
Someone has been smoking too much weed. They are barely complementary, let alone similar. Several songs have similar beats but the styles aren't similar. They're both good songs and kinda cool mixed together but i don't buy the premise. If they tried to make them similar, it's a #fail.
The point is that there can be such thing as a 'winning arrangement'. The chords are different, the melody is different but the genius of the arrangement stands out in spades. It's actually a terrific lesson for young songwriters to get into a producer type mindset. As a music creator and producer myself - it's the world we live in. And it is a fantastic example.
ARE YOU DEAF. they are structured incredibly similarly. they transition between sections; verse, prechorus, chorus in perfect timing. in the exact same style of quiet> building energy>noisy release.
I was at Russ & Tori Taff's house a couple years ago and Kevin Maxx showed up. We were talking about that CD and he said when they were all on tour with the NewsBoys & H - K, the girls introduced them to Nirvana and they played Smells like a teen spirit over and over until Toby did what he's very good at, borrowing music from other hit songs and writing new lyrics. Jesus Freak is a classic rip-off of Nirvana's Smells like teen spirit. Dick Sepeda
