I just watched all the seasons of GG and then the new episodes and I thought they were great. Not sure why everyone is hating on the remake, it's really good.

although not ideal, i think the ending is fairly realistic, things in life happen, we sometimes don't get what we initially aspire to have. not every academically achieved people make it big outside school. success in the conventional/superficial and glamorous way isn't the only success there is. i think rory would just be fine. i love this show so much, it is a big warm embrace and a reminder of how fulfilling slow life can be.
Im almost 40 and I can relate to Rory not sure what she's meant to do but figuring it out through trial and error
it’s ironic. it’s sort of a parallel ending. lorelai tried so hard to prevent rory from making the same mistakes but she ended up the same. falling for the wrong guy and realizing it too late (christopher = logan) (luke = jess)

When paris told rory she's okay not being the valedictorian coz she research those who were and they became a failure after 25 years from graduating. Seems it ended that way for rory.
she's not dead in this series. So she didn't "end up" yet. Also, it's relatable for lots of people since the economy is crap in the USA. We know you're bitter toward the gifted kids. Just improve yourself and you'll better.

Rory is already 32 years old in A year in life, and we saw how her life being wasted, the child she's carrying is probably the best thing she got at that moment but who knows? all we have are assumptions until the writers together with the production team will decide to continue the series. On the other hand, Paris's statement still holds true be it a movie or in real life.

She can't live without her lists, yet it looks like it has been years she lost track 😆 she slept with whoever which is so out of character got pregnant with the married man. Looks like a Lorelai 2.0 in the making and we knew how difficult lorelai too 😅sleeping with every encounters as well.

I don't know if I need a season 2 but if I think my idea would be : another Gilmore.
After telling mom about the pregnancy she refuses to tell who is the father (mom do not know about Logan yet). Luke finds out about the book and proposes that Rory moves in into the flat above the diner which he kept for storage. So she cleans that up and writes another chapter, this time about her boyfriends and is thinking a lot about Jess. Asks him to be her book editor as he worked as a publisher so he comes for the summer and moves above the diner too. The town speculates, but at first their is nothing going on. One night Rory tells him about the baby and refuses to tell who's it is saying that it's the family tradition to raise children alone so if mum could she can do it. Jess says that yes she can , but if she 'll let him he will help. He tells her how it was never good timing for them but maybe now it is if she is certain that she doesn't want to be with the baby father. She thinks about it, but next day realises that Jess was always the one to inspire her to do better so they finally spent the night together. Town continues to talk and one day Kirk overhears that Rory is pregnant, which at this point she is still trying to hide. They all assume it's Jess. Autumn comes and Lorelei is still asking Rory to tell grandma about the baby. She comes to grandma's house with Jess. They have big fight and baby secret comes up. Grandma never liked Jess so she says that finally Rory managed to waste her life. Rory storms out and grandma is very upset. Lorelei and Luke also have a fight when they talk about Jess being a father of the baby and Lorelei is still not sure If he'd be a good one. Logan comes saying he is no longer engaged and he tried but its always Rory for him. She refuses to talk to him but he sees the belly. Jess comes and realises it's Logan (the father) and has a big fight with Rory. They all storm out.Rory and Lorelai prepare for Christmas, Luke comes back and says he will support them no matter what because they (Rory and Lorelai) are his family but asks not to set Jess aside . Heavily pregnant Rory realizes that she needs Jess and sets out to look for him. Luke and Lorelai won't let her go alone so they all have big road trip. Thet accidentally meet Emily and her new guy and Lor says something like "I always new it will be the gardener" and they continue the journey together (Emily says how irresponsible it is and it's days to due date, but they all tell her to shut up and the boyfriend says he loves adventures). They find Jess on a ranch during snow storm. Make some jokes about tight jeans and horses and middle of that Rory goes into labour. They all make up and a baby boy is born : Lukas Richard Gilmore. Rory and Jess make up and live at the ranch and Rory writes more novels. The next summer they spent with Emily and her new husband on the coast and her hub has lots of grandchildren and they all have festive 4th of July. The end
Forgot to add: that Logan comes to see Rory to meet the baby before July but agrees that Jess is the better father and he was never cut out to be one nor will he want to "mess up" the baby as his father did. So the best he can do is not make the baby be a Hunzberger but a Gilmore, Rory tells him the baby is a half Hunzberger but from the better half and they agree for some contact. Rory tells Jess that Logan will not be a problem but he might be in their life If he is ok with that and repeats that she loves him and he is her best friend because he knows how to push her in the right direction, but he is not making her into someone she is not. Logan Is a part of a world that is not Rory's world because her world is Jess, baby Lukas and "this" points to the mountains and the ranch "you are my world".
At the 4th of July fireworks come and Lorelei comes up to Rory and says: "You did good kid." And Rory replies We did, because we are Gilmores after all" , as grandma comes over.
Thelast bit is the Gilmore girls hugging and looking at the fireworks.

So... I'm gonna drop a bombshell because I just noticed that Rory was 32 in the revival. The Revival ISN'T CANON. Let me explain before you go nuts. It was established in Season 1 Episode 18: "The Third Lorelai", that Rory has a TRUST FUND. Rory gets access to the trust fund when she turns 25. She would have turned 25 in between 1-2 years after she graduated from Yale. It is impossible for Rory's life, in the revival, to be such a mess because she would have had 7 years to learn and get used to managing such a small fortune that could have made her grow up to be more stable, and honestly, make her whole being broke situation non existent. I highly doubt that so many people around her would have let her blow through a small fortune in just 7 years. Specially not Richard, since it's his beloved mother who set up the trust fund for Rory and it would be impossible for him to sit back and watch Rory waste his mothers money. He would most likely be the one to teach her and help her set up some form of financial portfolio to make her dream life more sustainable. And Richard is supposed to only have died at the beginning of the Revival, giving him plenty of time to influence Rory about financial matters. So Rory becoming the entitled millennial we see in the Revival is just ludicrous. It would be more realistic and believable to find Rory embracing a life that was actually closer to the life that Emily and Richard built for themselves, but with a more modern independence, than the mess we were given in the Revival. The only thing I would agree with is her failure in becoming a journalist because her choice in career always felt like it mostly stemmed from the fact that she dreamed of traveling all over the world and had a deep enjoyment of writing and literature. Actually, she would have made an amazing educator.

I adore the Gilmore girls series but was disappointed in the follow up. Rory was leading a scandalous life with engaged logan, gets pregnant yet who is the dad? Logan, the wookie or the 2yr boyfriend paul. The Dragonfly is unable to keep a cook. Sookie is missing from the wedding & most of the show. Just all around disappointing. Just didn't fit the series.
If you found Tony in his La familia restaurant - you haven't tried neighbors door ad came to the right place. They stood with Valley Girl in to enter a club. She came back to her Christmas town, there was her old boyfriend in The Heart of Dixie, but he had someone else.

I am kinda happy that this series has come to an end. Lorelai character was the real symbol of stubbornness throughout the series. Her respect to senior people were never better than a teen who assumes that he or she knows the best.
Lol. Sorry to break this to you, but the senior people in the show mostly suck. It's not age that makes you wise. It's experience. And a bunch of rich people don't have too much experience in reality.

It’s amazing how they got all the actors back together for the reboot… NOT! They were all sitting around doing nothing until they got called up for the reboot and were like, “Thank you so much for giving us acting jobs again, since we are the lowest of the lowest tier of acting talent!” But, let’s not forget that Lauren Graham was part of the filmography masterpiece known as Bad Santa. Gotta give credit where credit is due.
Lauren Graham was on an NBC show. Alexis Bledel was on that tiny thing called Handmaidens Tale. Melissa McCarthy was lol, oh you're right, a nobody. Liza Weil on How To Get Away With Murder. Sean Gunn, a trailblazer currently with the writers' strike, had been in MCU.
You're right though that many unknown actors in this show never got their break afterward, too.

Pour moi Gilmore girls est un chef d'oeuvre, enfin surtout les 1ères saisons.
Mais je trouve ce reboot vraiment mauvais...Les personnages ne sont plus que des archétypes, leur version la plus mauvaise, vidés de vie. Leur trajectoire n'est pas cohérente avec celle des 7 saisons précédentes. Il y a des gens qui se fourvoient en vieillissant c'est vrai, mais là ça ne correspond pas. On dirait que la créatrice est amère avec ses personnages et les fait régresser. Je sais qu'elle a été éloignée de la réalisation des dernières saisons, ça a surement été difficile à vivre...
Enfin, c'est triste, mais cela arrive que des créateurs qui ont fait des choses géniales cassent leur jouet.
Je suis/ai été une fan de Gilmore girls de la 1ere heure, lors de sa diffusion en France dès 2002 - pendant des années, j'etais la seule de mon entourage à connaître et je saoulais tout le monde avec ça .
Alors oui, Stars Hollow c'est carrément "gentiland" (sauf les relations entre Lorelaï et sa mère, très bien jouées). Il y a aussi beaucoup de femmes lol. Mais cette série est incroyablement bien écrite, tellement intelligente et pétillante, pleine de charme, bienveillante et vraiment très très drôle (je repense a plein de répliques de Paris, notamment).
Le personnage de Lorelai, joué à la perfection par Lauren Graham (quelle immense actrice), a longtemps été une forme de "role model". Oui, elle est assez immature et un peu narcissique, mais aussi forte, originale et indépendante, suivant sa propre voie... C'est tellement rare cette liberté et fantaisie de nos jours.
Le problème principal de cette série pour moi, c'est la question de l'ambition et de l'argent : Rory a besoin de ses grands-parents très riches et très snobs pour poursuivre ses études supérieures...sans que ne soient posées de questions ethiques, ni de réflexion sur le système inique des grandes écoles américaines.
