Today I’m taking you along with me on a trip to the Goodwill Outlet (aka the Goodwill bins). This is my favorite place to find great deals on home decor. One thing I really love about the Goodwill. Outlet is one item from Pottery Barn on the west elm is not going to cost any more than an item from the dollar store laying right next to it.
My prayer here on this channel is that those watching will come away encouraged and inspired, realizing that you too, can create a beautiful space on a budget.

Hi, thanks so much and welcome to my channel! Great question. As a real estate agent, some items I keep for home staging, some I use in our home, some I give to family and friends, and occasionally I sell some. I’m also searching for an organization/ministry that could use household/decor items to bless those settling into homes that otherwise might not be able to afford things like that. Not sure what that will look like long term.
I enjoy your hauls. I can’t figure out why they were at the bins!

Love most of the pieces you find but where do you use it all?
I have more decor items than I have places to use or display them. Do you have a big storage area to house them and then continually swap them out, or donate them and get new things?
Hi Helen, great question! I can relate to that…sometimes I find really fun pieces and just don’t have places for them!
As a Realtor, I store some of the items away for home staging, some I use in our own home (I frequently swap out decor), some I give to family and friends, and in the past I sold items.
I am currently trying to connect with organizations/ministries that would be interested in household items and home decor for those who are settling into homes but might not be able to afford things like that.

This makes me want to have my husband drive for an hour to go to a Goodwill Outlet store. The closest one to me is in another state. We live in Georgia and the store is in Chattanooga Tennessee. He goes there to pick relatives up from the airport. I just love the stuff you come up with. I used to have one of the Pyrex dishes that went inside the basket. I would have so much stuff in my house if I went to one of those stores. And it would be a lot more affordable than buying it from the store.

I've recently subscribed and as a person living in Greece Europe, I am really amazed at the low prices at thrift stores. Baskets & trays for instance, are quite expensive here. (Cheapest found at IKEA).
Wish we had them!

Welcome Katerina! Yes, hopefully one day you will get them! We don’t have VAT in America, our government collects tax in other ways.
Someone covered the inside of that large basket with fabric and used lots of hot glue! I have done the same. It can be tricky though because it depends on the basket if it comes off easily. I have ruined a few things that way too, well not totally ruined but limited how I can change them up. I am SO enjoying your channel!! Just subscribed and love the way you shop and use your items. I can’t wait to go back to the bins after seeing things through your eyes. Thank you!

Would you say that your Goodwill outlets are in a higher income neighborhood? They have some awesome merchandise that I assume has been donated,
Good question. There are some higher income areas not too far from there. Sometimes it amazes me what gets donated!

Ao invés de cortar o caule das plantinhas apenas dobre pois poderá usar em outros vasos e coloque sacolinhas plásticas ou até mesmo papel dentro dos vasos pra ter altura boa pra plantinhas elas ficaram muito no fundo apenas uma sugestão 🇧🇷

Both our bin goodwill outlet have closed the bins n just expanded the store....
Am I understanding correctly that they are closing down the outlets and converting them into normal Goodwills? If so, that’s so sad! The normal Goodwills around me have gotten pretty expensive (aside from sale tags). Hope you’re able to find another good option!

Do you say what you pd for each item
Hi, thanks for asking! Sorry I didn’t explain this better in the video. The way the Goodwill Outlet (or the Goodwill bins) works is you pay for items by the pound. Prices vary depending on what type of item it is (electronics, clothes, shoes, housewares, etc). At ours, if an item weighs over 3 lbs. they charge a flat fee for it (at this time I believe it’s $3.39). On my receipt shown at the end you can get an idea of cost per lb. Hope that helps! 😊

As for the candles, you can also put a rubber band around the bottom and that will hold them in place. Just another hack😂

“Underwater Basket Weaving” - The Large wired basket you straighten out… Wet it down with water then let it dry… it will hold its new shape better. 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

The Basket fronds (willow) grow on the sides of creeks near water… I just learned this new trick, when arranging flower stems in pots. Put in a mason-size- jar to hold the stems together better! Loose stems look cool also.
