RECIPES:
DOUBLE CRUNCH BARS:
BOTTOM LAYER: Brownies of your choice. (either a brownie mix or made from scratch in a 9"x13" pan.
SECOND LAYER: Marshmallows. Spread mini marshmallows (approximately 1/2 package) on top after the brownies are baked and put back in oven for 3 minutes.
THIRD LAYER:
1 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips
1 tablespoon butter
Melt the peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter. Add 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies. After the brownies are cooled, top with the third layer.
I like to double the third layer for extra crunchy bars. 😊
SAUSAGE GRAVY:
Brown ground sausage. Season and thicken with flour. (sprinkle flour over the sausage once it is browned. Stir and add milk until it is the desired consistency.
BISCUITS:
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup butter, cold, cut up in little chunks
1 cup buttermilk or regular milk (I use a little less when using regular milk since it is thinner)
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Whisk together dry ingredients. Cut in butter using a fork or pastry blender. (or even by hand) until the mixture resembles wet sand.
Slowly add milk until the mixture is the right consistency. (you don't want it too runny) Add cheese and mix.
Drop by spoonful on a baking sheet. (I use a cookie scoop)
Bake for approximately 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
TAPIOCA:
4 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup tapioca
1/4 cup sugar
6 oz. or 1/2 cup jello of your choice
8 oz. cool whip
Bring water and salt to a boil in a kettle. (I use a 4 quart kettle) Add tapioca and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer over low heat for approximately 25 minutes or until tapioca is clear. (I like to stir it now and then, but some of it will stick to the bottom of the kettle anyway)
After the tapioca is relatively clear, add the jello and sugar. Cool. Add cool whip and fruit of your choice.
This is also good with just the fruit, and omitting the cool whip.
BURGERS:
SAUCE:
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup honey
2 teaspoon mustard
1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
1/8 teaspoon pepper
HAMBURGER MIXTURE:
1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
salt and pepper to taste
Combine all sauce ingredients. For the meat mixture, combine all ingredients, plus 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce. Form into patties and grill, basting the burgers with the remainder of the barbecue sauce.
HOMEMADE BREAD RECIPE: www.humorousho...
You inspired me to get a loaf of bread in the oven as l recently pulled my sourdough starter out of the freezer. ... Can't say about my recipe because it was a little dry, and when l added water, some spilled and I had to add more flour 🙄. But l bulk fermented it in the refrigerator for 30 hours and it was the best loaf l ever made! There was perfect texture all the way to the bottom. So thanks for all you do! Sending lots of love💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
I always enjoy your cooking videos. You should do one where you try out recipes that we viewers send to you. I noticed some of the other comments included a favorite recipe of theirs. Here is my contribution . . . an easy side dish . . . ENGLISH PEA SALAD: Combine a can of English peas (drained), chopped onion, bell pepper, celery, sweet pickles, boiled egg and a couple of tablespoons of Hellman’s mayonnaise. Eat at room temperature or cold. --Sheila McDade in Chattanooga, TN
If I have had a difficult day such as I did yesterday {oh my goodness yikes!!} And the following day turns out to be Wednesday {yay it is!} Your videos have a grounding and calming effect! They are a great reminder to keep it simple and focus on what matters in the home. Thank you for sharing your recipes, gravy & biscuits are on my menu!
Dear Mary... your videos make my soul sing. You are such a wonderful homemaker and caretaker of your family. You provide many ideas for your audience to make home the haven it is intended to be. We love you. God Bless ❤
As a southerer sausage gravy and biscuits is a big hit for breakfast, but we also so SOS (Stuff on shingles) using ground beef with the same method for gravy poured over toast. I take half milk and half water, heat it a bit and stift self rising flour into it and mix well to remove any possible lumps then pour it over the browned meat on a low heat and stir until i reach the right consistency adding water to thin it if needed.
Double crunch bars look so delicious, I have never tried tapioca pudding. Would you show us how you organize your fridge Mary.
Really enjoyed your video - especially when you put your bread on its side to cool. My grandma, mom and I always do that - I’m not sure why but that’s what I’ve always seen. Now my daughter, who loves to bake, does the same thing. I’m eager to try your hamburger recipe!
I too put my bread in its side for cooling.
Hello from NC Mary, yum, yum, homemade 🍞😊, you using the hand beater gave me goosies 😂, have a great day 💕🙏
I haven't heard "muskmelon" in years!
That's what we grew up calling them.
You are truly a country girl!
Do you use salt and pepper on yours? That's what I've always done.
I put pepper on mine!
Always love following along with you Mary. Thanks for including your subscribers!
Omg Mary the food looked amazing❤
I always save your cooking videos. And I love trying your recipes. Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills with us. 🙂
Hi Mary. You have terrific food ideas. Your tapioca with jello and fruit is one I will try. I think the other recipe with the mix of so many fruits looks very refreshing and delicious. Your kitchen is lovely and bright. It must be a delight to work in it. Your latest transformation beneath your porch is another home run idea of yours. Your creations do inspire❣️
Love your bread and all you do.❤
Really like that you wash up as you go. The young families I know always leave dishes in the sink, which makes it way harder to wash them, food all dry and hard. Start this great habit, young people!
Love your channel Mary!
Watching from Pittsburgh, Pa.
Your bread looked delicious! I am definitely going to try to do the crunch bars. Enjoy your day!
Yum! It was so much fun watching someone else cook. I love cooking and getting new ideas!

I was considering using her burger recipe as a meatloaf recipe.

I wish I had 2 sinks, I have inside my sink a medium-sized crock with dish soapy water, and this allows me to have more space inside the sink. Not bad for a very nice rental.
