RECIPES:
SLOPPY JO:
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 cup oats
1/2 onion, diced
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons mustard
4 Tablespoons brown sugar
Mix hamburger, oats, onions, salt, and pepper. Brown. Sprinkle with flour and stir. Add water and simmer. Then add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve on buns with a slice of your favorite cheese.
SWEET POTATO FRIES:
6 whole sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into strips.
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Melt butter and add the seasonings. Stir with a fork. In large bowl toss the sweet pototoes with the butter mixture. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
DIP:
1/2 cup mayo
2 Tablespoons ketchup
KITCHEN AID MIXER BREAD:
4 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups warm water
6 1/2 cups flour
Pour water into your stand mixer bowl. Add yeast and stir around to dissolve. Next add salt, oil, honey, eggs, and 3 cups of the flour. Mix on speed 1 for 10 minutes, using the paddle attachment.
Add the remaining flour and mix for an additional 10 minutes on speed one with the dough hook. If it's still a little sticky add a little more flour, but not more than 1/4 cup.
Grease the sides and bottom of your bowl. Cover and set in a warm place until it is doubled in size. (about 45 min)
Form into loaves, dinner rolls, or buns and let rise again (covered and in a warm place)
TIP: When forming loaves make sure to knead out any air bubbles. You can also prick the loaf tops with a fork to get rid of any air bubbles.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
SALAD DRESSING:
Mix approximately 1 cup mayo, 1 Tablespoon mustard, 2 Tablespoons evaporated cane sugar. Salt to taste. Add vinegar to thin to the right consistency.
TEXAS SHEET CAKE:
BRING TO BOIL:
1/2 cup butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup cold water
Remove from heat.
In a separate bowl mix:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups evaporated cane sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add 1/2 cup milk and 2 eggs. Last, add the hot mixture. Mix thoroughly and pour and into a jelly roll pan. (Approximately 12"x 17")
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

Also love that as an influencer you don’t cave to Christmas pressure to get decorating November 1st.

It’s BECAUSE of these videos that I may have gone a bit crazy purchasing candles from her shop. I never buy handmade candles. I’m too afraid they’ll smell like Play Doh-have had it happen once, and never went back; HOWEVERRRRRR, watching Ms. Mary and how wholesome she is, I dove in. I may have bought a soap as well. *avoids eye contact*. UPDATE: my house smells like cozy winter and Christmas! OMG-these candles are AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

Mary, I absolutely love everything you make and do. The more I watch your videos the more I see that you are not "perfect" but have your occasional road bumps along the way, for example the frosting. I often set a timer to motivate me to get as much done as possible in a short time. Amazing how much can be done!
It’s a neat trick I just heard of recently! Thankful Homemaker did a short podcast about that and I’ve found it useful. :) I didn’t know I could cut up a watermelon and clean up after the process in about 5 minutes. 😉

For the frosting, just melt butter and stir in cocoa powder. Then pour that into yr mixer w powdered sugar and milk, I have never let the frosting boil! Hope that works for you.

I just can’t get enough of your videos. Recently had to be mostly in bed because of health and appreciate the things you share.
Just want to tell you about a quick meal I enjoy, it’s my version of a Frito pie, a dish I’ve been eating since I was 14 or 15 in New Mexico, I’m
79 now, so that’s a really long time, I just put as many Frito’s on a plate as I think I’ll need for my dinner, (it’s about 1/3 what it used to be)
add my favorite brand of chili, which is Wolf Brand Homestyle, add shredded cheese on top of that, then chopped lettuce, tomatoes, onion and top with my favorite salsa which is Herdez. This is about a ten minute meal for me, and my family always enjoys it. Also, have lived in three other states since I lived in NM, back in my home state of Texas.

Oh my those Sweet Potatoes, Fruit Salad, Fresh Rolls, the Salad Dressing and CHOCOLATE CAKE ! Those are a few of my favorite things ! YUMMY !

Food looks yummy. Texan here, that sheet cake was a staple at our Wednesday night church suppers. It never failed, but a little grandma would make it, she put chopped Pecans in the frosting. It's one of my favorite sheet cakes. Pecan is our State tree.

Jerry, other than my daughter in law’s chocolate cake, which we all just call The Cake now, it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had, the chocolate cake is my favorite, when my cousin gave me the recipe about 40 years ago, I think we made at least once a week…..we had to catch up! 😂 I once made it with a little orange extract in the frosting, but we didn’t like it as much as the original.

Mary, I have to thank you for sharing your Norwex cloth...game changer!!! I finally have spotless windows! It also works on everything. I am so glad I finally after all these years bought it. I did not in the past due to cost of the cloth thinking it was a gimmick...its not. It really works!

I love my Dyson. I had a 6 for many years. I just bought a 10. It works so good. I can vacuum for a hour.

@@cherylynn927 yes, she used evaporated cane sugar, but regular sugar works well too.
For the icing: bring to boil 1 stick margarine (or butter), 4 Tbsp cocoa, and 6 Tbsp milk. Then add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 lb powdered sugar. Pour over hot cake.
I had Walnut Creek apple butter toast this morning with eggs and mush :)

I love dusting with a Swiffer duster in addition to a cloth. It reaches high places and more easily dusts tight spaces and little knickknacks. Thanks for the sweet potato fries recipe. I was going to make those this week so I will try out your recipe.

I can not imagine anyone not being pleased to see this meal set before them. Simple yes, but knowing that someone cared enough to prepare pretty and tasty food to share with others is rather special these days! People are in such a hurry, so busy doing "things", that too often we miss the opportunity to share ourselves with people we care about. I love my Norwex products and I'm glad to see you promoting them. I like how you share your handcrafted items without being pushy. I for one enjoy knowing what you're doing when you're not videoing! LOL. A funny story about the Texas sheet cake....when my now 56 yo daughter was about 5 or 6 years old, we met a family with 6 kids in our church and we became very good friends. She often made this sheet cake and it was always referred to as "Mabel's brownies". In my handwritten recipe book that's how I titled her recipe and that's how we always referred to it. Then my grandchildren called it GMa's brownies, because they didn't know who Mabel was, until one day I stumbled across a recipe for Texas Sheet Cake. WHAAAT! I could hardly believe it, but in my recipe book and with my family, it's always GMa's Brownies and occasionally we pay homage to Mabel for introducing it to us. The only problem I have with the icing is once in a while I get it too thick! But it is so good and nobody here objects to a fudgy icing. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
I love Texas sheet cake! And I don’t get offended if someone calls it brownies. :) Last summer I was making it for snack after revival meeting and the girl staying with me was helping with a bunch of cooking and baking. I was trying so hard not to micromanage her so I didn’t say anything when she left the icing sit and did some clean up and other things before she spread the frosting, then I exploded, “You have to spread it right away!” 😄

I just brown hamburger and put BBQ sauce in it...usually a brown hickory bbq sauce. I like watching you cook... Never know what is something new youbtake away from it. Have a wonderful week Mary... Perhaps you’ll want to consider getting a Mini Motorized Head attachment from Dyson (depending on whether it’s compatible with your model or not) for your vacuum. It has a strong roller brush and is absolutely, completely, wildly indispensable on sofas, beds, cushions, entryway mats, and small area rugs (not to mention the car), especially with pets in the house. It’s also much more eco-friendly that disposable lint sheets for such large surfaces. For dusting on hard surfaces, I also suggest the Mini Soft Dusting Brush. Both attachments are life-changers. And no, I don’t work for Dyson! 😂

You always inspire! I actually don't mind cleaning my home. I have been downsizing, decluttering, etc. and it's amazing how much easier it is to keep clean. I have the Norwax mitt also for cleaning. I never thought to dampen it for dusting. I usually just used dust spray. The sloppy joe recipe looks great. I have an easy recipe as well. I will also have to try the salad dressing. You make everything look so easy and simple. May God bless your family!!
I don't think you are supposed to use Dust Spray with Norwex. They promote cleaning without chemicals. It doesn't require anything, but you can use water. Excellent products.
I also clean my shower when I am in it. So much easier.
