I gotta say, the biggest selling point for me, is that screen on your controller. The thought of leaving my phone, in my pocket, is a definite game changer. It feels like the evolution, of RC controllers.
I love the zoom function! I used to have the DJI Mavic Pro (yes, version 1 - no zoom) and just got this drone a few days ago. I'm having fun making Dolly zooms: Move close to your object and start recording. Move the drone backwards and at the same time zoom into your object. If done properly, the object will keep the same size, but the background will seem to get closer! Not that difficult to do, if you have the DJI RC, where you can zoom using the right wheel.

Just got my Mini 3 yesterday and took it for a spin, and already woke up early this morning because I was so eager to fly again. 😁 Having watched a bunch of videos on it already it felt quite familiar taking it out of the box, but I still came back and watched this again for the information on setting it up. As a solo content creator I think I am going to find the active track really useful. I have been using the Mini 2 but was always worried about the drone rather than concentrating on getting the shot. Great video by the way.
Great video. One thing I think needs to be mentioned for any beginner, is to set the return to home altitude higher than the highest obstacles around you. This is super important to do before each and every flight.

True, but i have never used return to home in the year i have had my Mini 2. It is however set to 120 metres, just in case.
@@Glenrsi it's important not because you might use return to home, but because you might lose signal. If your remote/phone dies, or something happens, it's important that it has a clear path back to you. My old phone once had a fit and restarted mid flight. Thankfully I'd set the return altitude correctly.
GoodNerd: Like i said mine is set to 120 metres height in case i ever need it. All i am saying is i have never used it. Besides once the height is set that's it. You do not have to set it every time you fly.
@@Glenrsi you have to set it If there's things over 120m so it's possible you have to re set it before every flight.

Thank you for the video very insightful I have just purchased my DJ mini three pro this week and I haven’t even got it out of the box yet. Just got my 3 pro in yesterday, loaded the batteries and did all the updates. A quick launch to see if everything is working, but now getting up to speed on reading the manual (yes, some people actually do that :)) and watching this video.
Already have a Mavic Pro and and Mini 2, so not totally surprised, but good to get everything covered once again!

Well done. I will simply echo the need for simple practice of basic moves to create muscle memory with the controller. I've been flying for over a year and, in the heat of a stressful moment, I STILL sometimes reverse things like Forward vs. Up. (Adrenaline does strange things!)
The other one I practiced is reaching for the Emergency Stop/Pause button. You want to be able to quick hit it with your thumb without having to think about it or look for it. The obstacle avoidance on the Mini 3 Pro is good; but it's comforting to know how to stop it dead in its tracks on demand.

It is so quiet!!!!! Very stable in windy conditions. The RC is sooooo nice. I got a SYMIK plastic case (the best there is!) and so I do not have to remove the control sticks. Get the RC....No more having to set up the cell phone and worry about getting a phone call while flying.
Two recommendations....get the fly more kit with the two higher capacity batteries and get ND filters right away. Remember that the high capacity batteries puts you over the 249 gram limit. Get licensed anyways. And finally...fly as often as you can. It will make you a better pilot and it is fun.
