how is your mixer a dacade ago ?
Glad to find this video. I upgraded from a 4qt. to this 6qt. and I like that it does not bog down when kneading a large quantity of dough.
It's a great machine; I used one at a previous job, but, I recommend measuring ingredients!
This is a nice review of the KitchenAid Professional 600 mixer on RUclips. Nicely done! Very helpful.
about 5 years ago, HSN had a run on this mixer. I purchased it for $225. When I saw that price, I got it within the hour. I have used it for everything and it is one bad ass machine. It is a little loud when you put it under stress making dough, but It is a killer machine.
I can’t believe this was from 10yrs ago! These mixers do not loose value at all. I can’t wait to purchase mine from Costco
This kind of kitchen equipment is made to last a long time. It may sound loud but it only tells me that it works properly and just the way its suppose to be. It comes with lots of attachments that can be used in all kinds of baking. It looks great in my kitchen and same goes to any kitchen style...
I beg to differ - this generation just isn't as strongly built as the ones built when Hobart owned KitchenAid. A simple examination of the internals proves it; In this case, the 600 has a weak transmission casing prone to cracking and its metal worm gear is prone to wear. In comparison, the older Hobart era models such as the K4 and K5 series, with the exception of the fiber/nylon sacrificial gear designed to shear in the event of excessive load (and that can be had for as little as $10), have stronger and larger gears and the motor, although 'weaker' (less watts) isn't overdriven like the one in the 600 and is actually much more resilient.
Got this model off Amazon 3 weeks ago and the bread is GREAT!! I do grind my own wheat..
I have the the pro6500 and it handles bread making like a champ
I have this is grey pearl. I love it. I make cookies and they turn out beautifully
Is the color „Dark Pewter“?
You are mixing your bread on speed #3. If you read the directions, you are not to go higher than #2. The dough hook is a speed hook and works best at speeds 1 & 2. This is probably why you are have an issue with your bread kneading. Always read the instructions before using a new machine.
I think the labored sound you hear is more the pull on the gears and transmission. The seven and eight-quart models have a different motor and drive system and are quieter. My 275-watt model only makes that whiney labored sound when I have yeast bread in the bowl, but it continues to turn at a steady pace without fail. One lady broke her Kitchen Aid mixer down by attempting to mix a lot of cold butter, it didn't just stop or jam, it pushed itself until it literally broke something, that is how powerful they are. I do not know if the butter was just chilled or frozen, but I do know I'll never try that.
It's a machine, not magic.
You still need to take into consideration ingredient properties and weight.
Looks to me that these machines likely break due to user error when not used within its limitations I.e. mixing dough on speeds higher than 2 or using too much flower it seems.
Correct me if I'm mistaken
Be careful going above the no. 2 speed on dough as my 600 pro had a gear go out because I went above the second speed mixing bread dough!
If you throw the warm water, sugar and yeast into the mixing bowl first and stir it briskly with a whisk before you add the flour you only dirty up one bowl. Whisk it and let it stand for a few minutes until you see it start to form bubbles, then add other ingredients for mixing.
AS SOON as the dough pulls away from the bowl you must stop mixing or your bread will end up like pizza dough.
I dont know why, but the way you make your dough bothers me. I'm not trying to bash you, but the way I do it is I mix the yeast, water, and suger in the bowl, let it get started, then slowly add the flour, salt, and whatnot. However, I like that this video shows the machine working dough, I think that the dough hook on the 600s is awesome! Like someone said in an earlier comment the 600 is a sexy beast, I have one in "Licorice." I love it! Nice video!
Parker Hagenow don't be a d-bag. There is more than one way to skin a cat....
We actually made pita pockets bread that day. Turned out nice! So I recall .... :)
Nice video. Thanks. :) Seemed to work just fine.
thxs sr... do you think it has enough power and bowl size for 4 pounds of flour?
I rate my Kitchenaid right up there with my Kirby vacuum ..they're built to last a lifetime and both have tons of attachments...although they're both a little loud, they're just letting me know they're working..
Yes, both built in Ohio. Kirby makes a tank.
Is this mixer still running the same after all these years? I was concerned about the gear noise - it sounds like it's going metal on metal. Perhaps it needs some time for the gears to mesh in properly with each other ;-) I own the Professional 6000HD and it is not nearly as noisy as this machine...
It’s only one year ago
Thumbs up for the schnauzer lounging
One other thing, my mother has made hundreds of loaves of bread, dozens of wedding cakes, about 3500 cookies and hundreds of other things in the last 38 years. All with the exact same mixer.
BTW, I'm 50
They don't make'em like they used Mathius. My aunt has a starter model made 42 years ago. She makes bread just fine. As a wedding present I got a starter model from her. When I started making the same bread bread recipe she has that her 42 year old mixer could handle, mine broke. Just stopped moving. Sucks.
This machine didn't exist 38 years ago. You are confusing it with the K4 (tilt) or K5 (lift) models from the Hobart era. I have one and they are indeed workhorses if you don't overload them and regularly maintain them (grease breaks down over time and depending on usage).
Audrey, get a gently used Hobart era KA and have it serviced. It will probably end up costing the same a buying new if you have the work done by someone else, but you will end up with a much better machine.
@NoxuzMachinima Well I would say you should care about noise. It's an indication of how well the motor handles the load and how well the gears match together.
que maravilha amei essa batedeira
It's a good machine, as good as any others in that class.
Meaning true "professiinal" models.
I just got it from Amazon, Lightning Deals for $179 refurbished. I never have problem with refurbished stuff but I would like to know something. Is it normal a noise that come from the bowl lifter? Seems like it is loose. thanks
I just got mine, brand new and its so loud mixing bread dough, wondering if its normal
I've used both and I seem to like kitchen aid better.
Ahh yes. The sound of a REAL mixer!
Thank you
Did you keep it on speed 2 (it looks like it was faster), or knead for longer than 2 minutes? KitchenAid blames the transmission failures and bowl popping loose on not following their instructions to the letter. My Pro 600 transmission broke after two months and 5 batches of pasta dough.
i just bought one a very beautiful red one, they are not 220 volts they are 110 and my first cake turned out flat to, because i guess i beat it to death watching my new toy spin. lol
may i ask which speed you used to mix the dough?
You turned dough into concrete. Great!
Indeed!
I am writing this from the future. Thanks for the video! Hope you can read my comment.
ok give me the lottery result... :-)
Nothing was said about the noise level of this mixer. We have one and it sounds like it's about to fly apart. As it runs the sound goes from an uncomfortable grinding noise at low speeds to a squeal at medium to an unholy shriek at high speed. We had the smaller version which purred quietly even at high speed but this large one is so noisy my wife wears ear plugs.
You are correct, this model in known for being louder than older smaller models most people don't need a mixer this big unless they do a lot of baking or have a large family.
Hello I have the KitchenAid KP26N9XER Professional 610 with 590 w, this product is an old model ? Can I add an small bowl to mix? I think that to use at home is too big and did not come with a transparent plastic protector. This is louder than other models.
The heavy duty is the same model ? Or you suggest that I exchange it for the artisan model?
Odd that she mentions overmixing. Since I got this machine my stuff turns out flawless, even gnocchi.
it is a nice looking machine. i like it.
the noise - sounds like its more noisy than the 500w HD? could it be?
Whats the difference between this model and the "Proline 600"? Do you know if Kitchenaid did away with the plastic motor housing they were receiving complaints about?
LOL... you called the (dough hook) a "Pigtail"
I loved the machine but it broke down on me after using 10 + time and less than 20 times. I think they need to make the turner stronger though. But I was in love with this at the beginning, now its returned at the store :( ... I hope they built stronger in the future.
Ow well....Now, human power mixer is what I will be using starting from today. :)
like
Get one for you and your family if you like it. Its a great machine. But It will broke down fast..
They're not going to make a better machine without raising the price up considerably higer. Have you not heard of PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE?
Unfortunately true, a phenomenon that hit full swing in American Industry after the first Oil Crisis after. Even the top of the line 'Commercial' KitchenAids with the high power DC motor and all metal planetary gears aren't as strongly built as the pre-Whirlpool era K4 and K5s. And if you are lucky enough to have held up to a prewar model and ever compared the parts side by side, you would be shocked at the difference in robustness. No wonder 100 year old machines still work and are so sought after, even with the difficulty getting parts for them.
nice looking dough
Amei o vídeo lindo parabéns
The kitchenaid lady on a QVC program said if your dough starts climbing then add more flour because it is too moist
Are you from Rochester NY I see wegmans sugar I lived there most of my life and miss that place a lot gonna try this
No but I live a few blocks from a Wegmans. Great store.
I'd like to ask, signora is a brand from which country? Thx
Thank you for this video. Is it normal for this machine to get hot when doing bread dough? What is the temperature that can be considered as normal?
It warms up after 10 minutes of kneading - if it gets hot, you're overloading it.
Do you know where i could atleast find a used one or cheaper one? Im not sure i want a kitchen aid one because of all the reviews I've been reading but i can't afford a mixer thats 1000 right now. Just looking for some good suggestions that are a little cheaper, i could do the 500-600 range!
hello, I would like to ask you. I bought my stand mixer and When I used in level 1 or 2 for It makes a funny little noise is normal or not in kitchenaid professional 600. because I saw in your video that same noise as if force but when increase the level disappears.
just got one use for the first time the motor make funny noise, returned for a replacement second pour in 12 quart bread dough run the first time it had smoke came out from the side, returned for refund , never again , my 20 year 4.5 kitchenaid runs fine , but i guess whirepool is just not a good quality.
PUDGEYW We have a mixer identical to this that broke within 4 months of use. They will not honor their warranty. Whirlpool has ruined KitchenAid. Out Hobart made model is still going strong.
They won't honor warranty? What's the excuse?
ureviews They are claiming that by the serial number, it was manufactured in 2015, making it too old for replacement. However, I've read the warranty information that came with it and it only states that they will replace one year after the purchase date, not manufacture date.
All you need to do is submit a receipt no?
ureviews You would think so. They were provided with the purchase information, warranty registration submitted, etc. We have moved on to a different brand. I'm glad if you're having good luck with yours but us getting the finger from KitchenAid customer service is not an isolated incident. Many of their products and their customer service have very poor ratings.
I can get one of htese models for 200.00 from a person where I live, off Craigslist. I had also read that the gears on this model DO quite down after 6 or 7 uses. I think i am going ot buy it today! Smoking deal and it was never used be her!!
@pinkmoontribe See description for a much better model.
Its 325W just like most of their other mixers. depending what you do it could be ok for you.
Costco has it for $350.00. Do u recommend getting it? I have ALWAYS wanted one!
@MaoMaeggie Also check out the description for a link to the product.
What’s the mame of that beautiful color?
nice crocs, do you like them?
makin a few french loaves there?
Um sonho
you should have whipped up some egg whites on the same speed of both mixers and timed it that would have been a helpful review.
I like mine ok. I Have the same as you and it makes the same noise. I thought might be something wrong. My other said that's normal. But I don't know. Still works great but bugs me the noise tho.
If you want 2 lbs of flour, you need to weigh it on a scale. I have a pro 600, I hope it lasts because I paid $400.00 for it - on sale!
Podrías darme consejos sobre la máquina como te a funcionado yo estoy apunto de comprar una me ayudaría mucho q me digas tu punto de vista de tu experiencia con el equipo
Quick question. I got my kitchen aid 600 professional like yours just with a glass bowl. The attachment hook that you screw in fell off of mine and I had to put it back in. Also when attempting to get it out of the box the bowl hit the attachment head where the kitchen aid label shuts/opens. Is that typically sort of loose or did I screwing up?!
I m have watched too many of bread made videos in youth and I never seen any one putt almost half of flour from box not measurements and also I’m still learning from guy too.
It was jum to show if the motor is straining or not.
I just got the KitchenAid Professional 600 from Best Buy on Special for $249.99! =D OMG
Love mine, where u located, I see the wegmans sugar ?
upstate NY.
Is this mixer better than the other KitchenAid Heavy Duty 5? And what is the replaceable hook made of? What kind of metal? Plz. reply! THX!
MaoM.
R all attachment made from aluminum? if they have been coated.
All aluminum besides the whisker which i believe is steel, I don't think there's any kind of coating on them. (So obviously don't put in dishwasher non anodized aluminum.)
عجانه روووعه
I just got the KitchenAid Professional 5qt 325 Watt 10 Speed Stand Mixer
waiting for it to come in the mail. is that close to what you haave here?
Enkele programma's van kichtenaid

Hi Sir,
Does this mixer work ok?
How about flat beater, is it made from aluminum? Is it coated by something?
Thank you
Flat beater is coated.
I have been a long time user of Kitchenaide products and have always thought I would continue to use them. However, the "professional" 600 is actual garbage. The "professional" moniker was a marketing ploy to get people to assume that it meant it was a heavier duty product for use by "baking professionals". I can tell you from experience, that this mixer is NOT for professional level usage. I have replaced the entire gear train on mine, 1-2 gears at a time, enough times that I could have purchased a 3 new mixers. Yes, I know that doesn't make much sense, but when you are trying to get an order out for a customer, it is easier to justify a 30 gear overnight delivered for free and just too tell yourself, well, I was to hard on that batch and will be more careful. A gear at a time for $30 is also easier to justify than $500 +. Don't get this mixer unless you only do extremely light duty things like mixing watery items. Bread will eventually kill this mixer.
Garbage. Garbage. Garbage.
Exactly. The newer models aren't designed for any serious work. Probably someone in marketing decided they would get away with it based on the fact people don't cook as much nowadays as they used to in previous generations (smaller families, going out more often). Get a Hobart or hunt for a vintage machine and have it serviced, you'll be happy again :-)
I have mine for over 9 years now.
@@sergiwu How often do you use it to make bread?
@@horserun2551 i dont use it to make bread i make desserts like cookies, bread budin, my mom use it almost every day and a microchip got burn my dad replace it by himself it was the switch for the speed broke down i think i found it on ebay 23 dollars .
@@johnnyjimj I have a KA from 1989. I'm told Whirlpool was still using the Hobart specs then, and my machine is very reliable and sturdy. But I would not buy a new KA when this one dies. I think I'll get a Kenwood Chef instead.
salut top vidéo en france on a de la chance c est introuvable même au Havre ou Rouen ,Amiens ,,,
I'm told the machine Kitchen Aid mixer for Briochen extremely perishable machine, can only be used 3 times. You can tell me the experience of using your machine are not, please? Once how many kilogarms are mixed up?
This machine is not as durable as other models for heavy dough and large batches. Just don't overload it, don't overspeed it and don't run it for more than 10 minutes at a time and you should be fine.
500 wattos csak? Akkor hiába 6,9 literes! 😁
Én Tefal-t vettem 1100 wattosat és kisebb a tálja mégis.
Szuper leárazással csíptem el egy webáruháztól! 😉😛
Can it do a 5lb bag?
It’s normal for the kitchenaid pro to stop due over heat I just bought mine last week when i used it after 20 mins it stop due to over heat 🎉
I’m just bought kitchen aid professionals 5 qt series HD from AMAZON AND 5 QT FROM SAM’s club THE PRICE WAY DIFFERENT AND I STILL DONT KNOW IF BOUGHT THE RIGHT ONE
Que numero de velocidad se amasa?
Do NEVER add ingrediences to a strong kitchen machine while it is running, unless it is specially designed for it. A 600Kw Kitchenaid will pull your hand right off, if you get stuck. Stop the machine, add the things and turn it on again.
Good tip!!!
This is doing it's job but a little noise ☺️.
@qupia hi..I'm thinking of buying bosch(900watt) stand mixer..would you be able to tell me if you are happy with this product..I hear Breville bem800 is good too..thanks:)
DeLuana98 6 years later, I hope you chose the Bosch. This model is trash.
@@icankickmagda I did(replying 5 years later)😅 buy the Bosch and I am still using it. Take care cheers(Au)
Quanto tempo leva a batedeira para bater meio quilo de massa perdi as instruções
buy a scale... weigh your flour. and everything else.
... and give yourself some leeway in water proportion for varying moisture conditions ;-)
Or buy the new sifter and scale attachment. 💯
What available in India.
dough hooks should not exceed number 2 speed.
If I do number 2 speed on mine, hooks don't move (I'm from Brazil and mine is OSTER).
Will the "Professional HD" last over 30 years? My mother's KitchenAid was purchased in 1977 and still is the work horse it always was. Also can you use the exact same attachments on the home model as the professional restaurant floor model? With the "KitchenAid", you can. All "Kitchaid" stand mixers sound like they may be straining but in fact it's normal for all home and floor models.
I've been using the KithchenAid I purchased 15 years ago and it's never had any issues unless I went over the recommended dry ingredient quantities.i.e. 6.5 cups of flour instead of 5 cups.
This review is not anywhere near complete in the testing.
The cost of the "kitchenAid is between $379 and $589 depending on the model and where it's purchased.
+Mathius959 I expect it will. It only has a 1 year warranty, though. Seems to be very well built.

I just bought mine and once I heard that terrible sound I thought o my god its broken lol! I had to RUclips to hear others lol!
can the bowl come off ?
+andrea tuttle Yes. The bowl comes off.
You are letting it mix to long.. Stop once sides of bowl are clean, approx. 2 minutes on speed 2.. I have made 12 loaves this far, and never an issue.. I also do not add water, why are you doing that?? Just curious,,
@MaoMaeggie This one is their best consumer model.
and does the head tilt at all ?
+andrea tuttle No. It has a lifting mechanism to lift the bowl up to beaters. The tilt head is the less expensive Artisan model which has a lower capacity.
the mixer is great, but you need to be more organised when making a video, your a bit all over the place, and also measure your ingredients, im not having a go trying to help you make a better video, keep it up.
Is the loud whine that starts at 3:36 normal? We also have a Professional 600 and the whine is really loud, like a belt is about to break or something?
Unfortunately they pretty much all do that, reason I didn't buy one. I wonder if the original poster's machine still works 8 years later ;-)
I want to buy this machine.I m from Pakistan.
Mixers are only quiet when they have plastic gearing! Full metal gearing like this machine will be noisier but taken care of ,,, last forever! Artisan and Classic models are plastic geared therefore quieter...
Not necessarily. The greater the load and the faster the mechanisms are turning the noisier it gets. Commercial grade machines with all metal gears are much, much quieter. The reason the classic machines are a bit quieter is their components aren't as stressed. And they only have one plastic gear BTW, and it will last forever unless it's overloaded or the machine was neglected (ran out of grease).
@@johnnyjimj Well the family KA Accolade (all metal gearing) is louder than my Artisan...both well greased...
make sure you get your fingers right in there while your dumping the salt in, chief.
