I absolutely Love my Televes antenna. Tried many popular outdoor antennas before getting getting mine and it's the best I have ever had. The build quality is the best I have ever seen. I read people saying stuff about the plastic components, and I get that concern, But... I can tell you that after more than five years above my roof, there is no damage or erosion to any of the components and it has survived multiple hurricanes. Channel stability is better than any other antenna I have used too. For the record, I am using the DAT BOSS MIX LR model, which is a bit bigger.
I don't even have an antenna, I just watch local channels through locast on my roku tv, and the benefit is if you have a smart tv you don't have to route wires to the tv
In Europe this model allows you to mount the VHF elements in vertical position for DAB reception (digital radio on VHF Channels 5 to 12). In Europe digital radio is vertically transmitted while digital television DVB-T2 is transmitted both horizontal and vertical. Vertical polarization is mostly for portable devices. The UHF reflector is only horizontal. So you get both Digital TV on UHF band and Digital Radio on VHF band. I also recommend this model for those who live in rural areas.
Honestly admittedly being honest about not knowing if this company made good products is a sign of growth! Testing is key! And knowledge of honest results is what we are seeking!
Tyler, I’m an over the air enthusiasts and before your channel, I’d got a lot of cheap generic antenna and fell for the scams. I’ve learned a lot from you and it is really helping me feel more confident about which antenna to buy.
Thanks. Glad you reviewed this antenna. I have tried two other antenna's with so so results. I pick up strong signals from NYC (65 mi) and also pick up good signals from Hartford and New Haven CT. which is about 180 deg in the other direction. Love this antenna.
I did install a rotor on the mast so I could move it to NY or Hartford. But after I got the strongest signal from NY I also got a good reception from Hartford/New Haven. NYC is about 65 mi from me. Hartford is about 40 miles 180 deg opposite direction.
Tyler, we need a benchmark when comparing signal strengths that would include one of your top performing antenna, not just the last two. That would give us a better idea of how well the one you're reviewing really is.
The "top 2" really depends on the specific situation. I include the results of the last two models. I dont even have to do that. If someone wants to see which model is the best for whether it be a high VHF, low UHF, or upper UHF channel they are free to watch the other videos or inquire about a custom recommendation from me
I agree. Once you find the most top performing antenna. In the UHF or VHF Hi Group could you put it to the extreme right. With a gold or red box around those numbers. Then do the other two recent checks to the left. So we know the all time leader. Actually the whole Antenna Testing Process is getting complicated. Would have to separate it into under 0 to 50 miles antennas, 0 to 70 miles and 70 miles and beyond.
Besides being well built antennas, lots of Televes antennas have built in LTE filters. They are also very unique looking and probably a great attention getter to start the ‘cutting the cord’ conversation with the neighbours! Great video, Tyler!👍
Televes could be one of the most understated products on the market and not just for antennas. The quality of the product is outstanding from the construction materials, to the design, to the easy to follow instructions. Most importantly, these antennas rekindle America’s love for the way TV used to be…FREE! As a recent cord cutter who was finally fed up with overpaying the cable company for what is available for free OTA, I was astounded how easy and enjoyable the transition from cable to an OTA antenna was. Get a Televes antenna now and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. It’s that amazing!
I had one of their antennas installed, not this one. The only regret I have is I did not do it sooner. The picture is very good. Picked up Hi V which is a problem in our area. Had it over six months and have not complaints.
I temporarily installed a Televes Datboss Mix LR UHF/HiVHF antenna in the attic of my summer cottage on Matinicus Island Maine 04851. It is aimed out a window toward the Portland Maine towers at about 90 miles. I get some drop outs of signal but on the whole, I get more signal than I have ever done. I am pleased with this antenna. I will be raising the antenna outside later and adjusting the length of the RG 6 solid core quad shield cable for further efficiency. I am also place shifting the signal via a Sling AirTV2 using a very fast broadband via DSL. My rating on this antenna : two thumbs up.
What the hell is that thing???? Looks like a Space station replica... :) Seriously.. This company has been around in the USA since 1972.. That says a lot! Good build quality!
YESSS! Finally found it. I watch Drone reviews of all kinds and tests, and in a lot of European, England videos, I've seen this antenna on masts and roof tops. I always wondered what it was and who makes it. Looks like a popular antenna and works and priced right to be so many in use over there. Great review as usual.
@Antenna Man thank you so much for your reviews! Because of your honest reviews I purchased this antenna, removed my old dish and attached it at the correct azimuth. I live near the border of Minnesota and North Dakota and it's mostly flat around here. When I finally got it installed I pulled in channels from 86 miles away. Televes is quality and so is your channel.
I'm glad my videos helped you get better reception. Feel free to give a contribution at the link below as I spend A LOT of time making the videos and responding to these comments: antennamanpa.com/support.html
Last Summer, we installed several Televes DATBOSS antennas in an apartment complex 25mi north of Boston. It's in a valley very close to sea level, and there are only a couple channels broadcasting in VHF in our area, so we used the compact UHF-only model. Nevertheless, they still pick up a dozen transmitters (~50 channels), two of which are in Providence RI, 67mi away. We installed a DATBOSS LR (larger model, 83" long) on one building for comparison, but it didn't pick up any new stations over the smaller antenna; just slightly better signal on the existing ones.
I’m very impressed with that Televes antenna. Most of the antennas you test don’t even pickup your local LOS station. But this one does and everything else you through at it. As a long time antenna designer, I can see they thought of just about everything including the LTE filter and auto adjust gain which itself is huge! Keep up the great work Tyler!
My televes pick up to 120 miles at summer, with hills in front and sea. I got channels from another state. Those things are super. Obviesly, new tunners tv are more sensitive that older ones
I replaced a ClearStream 4 from 2013 (lost in a tornado) with this (S.E. Wisconsin). Works just as well and for a fraction of the cost. Thanks for sharing the video.
I've done antenna work since the late 80's in Central Minnesota using primarily Winegard and Channel Master but about 6 years ago put up a Televes Diginova and since then have only used a variety of their antennas. If you're putting one up for yourself or making your living putting up antenna the build quality is better than all the others out there. As far as the Televes Ellipse I've put up 50+ of them the performance is great and the assembly time is next to nothing. They're just plain awesome! :)
I have to agree with Tom. Also anyone wanting an antenna install in MN please reach out to him. No-one will make a better job than Tom. Best installer I've met in the country.
Hi Tyler. About 2 years ago Dish Network/Sling had a promotion for $99 you received a Televes Diginova Boss antenna and installation. I took advantage of it and the antenna works great. I am in the suburbs in Chicago and this one picked up CBS which is a tough channel for me to pick up. I was able to pick up a 5 port amplifier and run it to multiple TVs with clear pictures. Very satisfied.
1:00 Beautiful timing. "Televés is a very large antenna company...". At the same time, a huge yellow parabolic antenna pops up on the screen 😀 My father-in-law got a new Televes antenna, installed by technicians, no charge. It is a high-V/UHF antenna, which means he can't watch one of the local channels in his area. His satellite provider did this, no doubt, because it means the networks can't cut him off during retransmission conflicts.
I learned of Televes earlier this week while searching for a potential antenna for my mom. Most outdoor antenna brands I saw growing up were AntennaCraft, Channel Master, and RCA.
I live in Finland, Europe but I'm Swedish speaking, so last summer I bought the biggest Televes UHF antenna and now I can watch Swedish television with perfect picture quality, even the HD channels. It's about 75 miles to the Swedish transmitter. Televes DAT Boss LR is the model I use together with their power supply unit to get the most out of this great antenna. Here you can read more about their products www.televes.com I'm so happy that even the Antenna Man tried this antenna. One question though, did you test it together with the power supply unit? The range will increase when it's connected to the power supply unit, but it works also without power.
Did you test this antenna together with their power supply unit? The range will increase when it's connected to the power supply unit, but it works also without power.
Great job as usual Tyler the Antenna man. Really appreciate the reviews. I would think OTA has a fundamental appeal to broadcasters and networks over that of cable by being "free". With an economic down turn, people are more likely to eliminate the unnecessary cost of cable and still get at least some of the same broadcasts with an Antenna.
I just replaced my 30 year old Radio Shack antenna with the Televes Ellipse Mix antenna . The picture quality improved greatly with the Televes antenna and I was able to pick up 4 additional channels I did not have before. The only problem I had was trying to find where to buy the antenna. Both Lowes and Home Depot carried it but they were out and had a waiting list for them. I tried several other places that carried antennas but they didn't carry the brand. I finally found an electronics warehouse in Pennsylvania that had 4 in stock so I purchase from them. I wonder if your great review caused a run on this model.
I seen your review on the televes DATBOSS LR mix . We ordered one going to try it out .now I got see your video of finding the tower from my Location .
When you use Sling TV’s antenna install program this is the brand they install on your house I have one of these and I get all of my locals with no problem at all and I live between 45 and 70 miles from the broadcast towers in my area and there’s a cell phone tower about a half mile down the road and I never have a problem either good antenna.
Wait Sling's antenna install program? I have been mad that they still don't carry my RSN and the guy in the chat was like yeah you can get those on your local channel. I almost said buddy you shouldn't be in the business if you don't know what an RSN is.
So you finally dit it Tyler! You decided to test a Televes antenna and you were not dissapointed. I told you so. I have been using them for the last five years and I have no complaints whatsoever in terms of quality and performance. The Televes Ellipse Mix (VHF/UHF) version is for the US market. It is not sold in Europe since they only use UHF there. Regarding its overall size I understand it was designed to comply with the FCC OTARD Rule. By the way, who did you purchase it from? I understand Solid Signal does not carry it yet. Also, was this test conducted with the antenna on passive or active mode?
Very popular in Europe, they are made in Spain I believe. It would be interesting to see how other international produced antennas work in the USA. OTA is the most popular way to get tv in Europe, and each roof has at least one antenna installed. Can you try testing a Fracarro or an emmesse antenna?

Just want to add, if your in Canada. Home Depot is selling that model at $179.00. It's at the high end price range. For that money you can move into a Antennas Direct DB8e for $189.00 much more Antenna for the money. Actually in my lastest test I got the same exact Stations on a DB4e, CM4221 and a Digiwave ANT-2084 all 4 bays. The DB4e did give the most signal strength. For Canadians the DB4e retails for $99.00, the Digiwave ANT-2084 for $33.00
Televes beats all of them if u look at Tylers reports. I watched damn near every video this kid puts out. Nothing is beating these televes antenna jus so u Kno.
@@dmo848 Just a minute. First are you a hobbyist, or installer, or tester or just a arm chair watcher? Need to know. Your statement is misleading. A Antennas Direct XG91 will bring in the exact tv stations. What you maybe getting with the Televes is better materials. The XG91 is cheaper made, so materials are not there. Sounds like you have no experience mounting, testing or installing antennas. So your just a arm chair viewer. Got one for you. I buy, test, repair and install antennas. Which of these two four bay antennas brings in more channels. A) Antennas
This antenna will receive all the stations I have in my area both from the front and the back without haveing to rotate it. I have two VHF stations in the NW of here and several to the SE. Pointing the antenna to the SE will receive the UHF stations in that direction and the 2 VHF ones that are NW of me...I have PBS stations to the NNE and those I have to rotate to receive...
Hi Tyler, I appreciate your last RUclips cast on the Televes Ellipse Max Antenna. First I would like to tell you that I am a serious cord cutter when it comes to my over the air TV. I live in the Bflo NY area (Clarence) and I've had a very difficult time to obtain my local stations, ABC, CBS, and CW. I've combined 2 DB8's still poor signal strength, I tried a ClearStream 4v another waste. So I viewed your cast on the Televes Ellipse Max. I said what do I have to loose? I purchased 2 Televes Ellipse Yagi Omni-Directional Outdoor Antennas, a Televes TV Antenna Pre-Amplifier Combiner and a tripod Mast. I get max signal in a heavenly wooden area on all 41 channels, incredible! Thanks for the review. I strongly suggest the Televes Ellipse Max Antenna. GSSHEPHERD
Great review! Some of the European antenna companies are very good. I use a FM Yagi I bought from Germany. It is excellent. I wonder how the Televes antenna would compare to the Antenna Direct 91XG on UHF?
The 91XG is a large, high gain passive antenna. The Televes Ellipse works in two modes: pasive (amplifier OFF) and active (ON). I am sure the 91XG performs better than the Ellipse in passive mode (apples to apples) since it is larger and has more elements; however, it is too long for most folks.
@@robertogalvez3865 The 91XG is a UHF only large yagi, not really comparable to the Ellipse as it is at least twice the size, probably more. The specs for raw gain are 17dBi max gain in the UHF band, which makes it comparable in passive gain to the Televes DAT LR in passive mode (this one is actually closer to 18dBi). The DAT LR is substantially smaller in size than the 91XG, and also substantially more rugged. Furthermore, it includes a TForce pre-amp as all the DAT series. The DAT LR also comes in versions with High VHF + UHF, and Low VHF + High VHF + UHF
This time of year is GREAT for weather conditions to get super long range tv signal in the wee morning hours! just this morning, just after 4 am I did a scan and picked up 7 other channels that I never receive before and they are about 80-200 miles away!! you cant do this every morning in june, but certain mornings when conditions are right.. TRY IT AND RESPOND WITH WHAT YOU GET
Pittsburgh stations have been coming in here (I figured I would dig out my ClearStream with the VHF retrofit) and and I was able to pick up Channels 2,4,11,16,22,40 & 53 out of Pittsburgh and 7 Wheeling WV and 9 Stubenville OH and the other night I picked up a low power station on Ch. 30 and I even picked up the repeater for Ch. 11 in Pittsburgh on Ch. 34 (the only locals I was able to pick up was 3 and 61 and sometimes 55, the rest were out of Youngstown Ohio which I can always get (21,27,33,62 and also 45 but they are a satellite of one of our locals 49) I bet if I put it out on the balcony I might get Erie, PA idk about Buffalo NY and idk about the LPTV in Canton Ohio or the PBS repeater in Youngstown Ohio I have picked up 44 PBS in Cambridge Ohio in the past (once I picked up Ch. 3 WPSU in State College PA, plus I've been able to get Ch. 10 in Altoona PA, and WVPB in WV)
YES a good clear calm night usually gives good conditions and best to try 3-6am! stations will come and go (Fade in and out) so don't give up.. keep scanning and see what you get... I played around a bit before I left for work and was surprised especially at a couple I did get!
They use a different model. I'll see if I can test that one out in the future. I try to give all antenna brands a chance. So far this company has been decent but I only tried one model.
I have that antenna installed by Dish. It works great for me.. Pulls in all my locals up to 60 miles. We recently had a really bad hailstorm that totally wrecked our roof and the televes antenna survived it.
Thanks for highlighting the quality of this company. I'm installing a mast on the end of my house. I'm going to have a small concrete base (mast sitting on top), and two wall brackets to support the mast up the end of the house. In general what companies do you think build beefy, high quality mounts such as this?
Antennas are one of the few electronic items where import doesn't play a big role. For me here in Germany your channel is interesting, because practically none of the American companies are known here. The market is dominated by German brands, (and of course cheap crap from China), so it's interesting for me to compare it with antennas available elsewhere. I'm interested in antennas for picking up weak signals from far away stations, and it seems there is a lot more available in the USA, as most people here switched to satellite TV, cable and IPTV.
Thanks for this, it was one of my most wanted reviews, would like to seen it compared to the better Antennas Direct models but from what I gather from this it's a bit of a disappointment, I thought the unique design might have garnered better results on the UHF band, as is I still think the db series are about as good as it gets for UHF & I wouldn't bother with this. Also there are clones of this sold by Stellar Labs that seem to be a solid build at a lower price if you are game.
Thank you, Tyler!! This one is going one my school bus to tiny home conversion! I think it looks cool and I'll get to watch the Cowboys while I boondock!! Plus Lowes I get 10% off millitary discount!! 8)
I wonder how the Televes Diginova boss stacks up. It retails for about $100 online and Dish Network (yes the satellite dish company). Will sell and install the Diginova boss for $150!
Great timing on this video. I have been having occasional, but annoying problems with a VHF station in my area so subscribed to RUclips TV for it and their awesome "DVR" service. I decided to go ahead and get the Televes and try it in my attic in place of the GE Pro I've been using so did it a few days ago and then today Google told us RUclips TV is going up to $65/month!!! Yikes! So far the Televes is working great! So thank you. I'll go back to another service that I won't mention as don't want to get into a discussion about which is best as there is no "best" for everyone, but it won't cost near $65/month. Now for a question. Do you do your signal tests with a preamp turned on or out of the picture? I'm just curious as some antennas,, like the Televes don't make it very easy to do it without the preamp. In fact, I'd like to see you do a video on how best to compare before/after signals.
Televes antennas are really designed to be used with the TForce system turned on at all times. It's not a typical pre-amp, and it will not overdrive the system in any case.
I have one of those older large Radioshack cross-phase multi-element design roof antennas but where I live there are lots of trees and I am about 40 miles (Kennesaw, Ga) away from the source (Atlanta). I already bought the Televes antenna but wonder if this smaller build would be so much better than what I have given the size difference/element count. Thank you!
Tyler, don’t you have any low VHF channels to include in your tests? If you’re in PA, it would be great if you could include 6ABC along with the other stations. They seem to be a constant pain in the ass to pickup. BTW - your reviews rock.
I used to live in south Bethlehem where reception from Philadelphia was blocked from South Mountain. I recently moved to a new house on the north side where I can now get reception from there so I'll be testing low VHF in a few months.
I saw a video from Televes that they were working on better USA distribution of the Ellipse and the price should come down. That video was over a year ago. I wonder if larger long range versions of the Ellipse will be produced?
The DAT LR remains Televes' longest range antenna. It comes in UHF-only, High VHF + UHF, and Low VHF + High VHF + UHF versions. That said, the Ellipse is a very high gain antenna that would also be considered a long range yagi.
Great video thanks for the review. Will this antenna perform better than my clear stream 4 max? I have the televes pre amp on my clear stream but still having trouble with pixelization. Thanks
Hello AntennaMan. I can't find the Televes Ellipse *Mix* Antenna anywhere in stores or online. They just carry the Ellipse without the VHF elements. Lowe's is out of stock. I live in Central New Jersey. Do you know where I can find/order one? Thank you for all the time and research you put into your videos.
I purchased that cheap pingpingpong antenna that you tell people not to buy because i never heard of you. Oh well, for the next purchased I'll make sure to stop by here. TY for all the information.
Thanks for the review. You have mentioned many times that "RCA" is a reputable antenna manufacturer. Perhaps years ago that was true, but RCA exists as a brand name only - other companies license it's use from GE. I agree that antenna looks pretty rugged. Does it have VHF Lo band capability?
I really enjoy your videos Tyler!! Thank you for going in to such great detail. Could you explain to me what is the primary difference between this antenna and the Televes antenna148381 or 149483?
As Eric at South Main Auto would say: "Televes not a sponsor". Great review! Do you think it's price competitive with the other antennas that perform in this category?
Hi Tyler, been enjoying your antenna reviews for quite a while. Have you ever thought of testing out RV antennas? I have a travel trailer that has a King Omni-directional on it and I'm not impressed. My older trailer had a Winegard on it and it worked fairly well. However, I'm interested in the King Jack antenna. It's directional and it looks like it has some VHF capability that the Omni-directional one does not.
Truth and Quality Practical and Useful Information. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That statement is not as true as was in the past analog days. And , push , push , push , to try and make it as true as in the old days of analog. Is not helping. ------ If required for reception. Now days is better to use a separate antenna and a antenna combiner.
I bought the next bigger model from Televes a couple of weeks ago. It's sturdier than most antennas, but as far as reception it's no better than my old Radio Shack antenna and it's not consistently picking up a station that's 38.5 miles away. I don't get why antenna manufacturers use so much plastic. It's going to break down in the sun from UV radiation.
I bought this antenna after watching your video. My old antenna was a RCA yagi with a amplifier receiving 52 channels. After buying this Televes antenna and Televes amplifier I got 52 channels for 1 week then channels rocketed to 67-85 channels for a week then it fail like a rock to 25-30 channels. In short my $35 out perform the new Televes at $136 plus Televes amplifier $31. I am very dissatisfied with Televes. Can you tell viewers the address for Televes to return their antenna's. And yes I put my old RCA yagi antenna back up.
Please contact Televes or Amazon for support. I'm just a RUclipsr. Most have said very good things about this antenna. There might be an issue with the coax cable you're using.
The coax cable is a new RG6 I bought with the RCA Yagi antenna with no problems only a little pixeling then I bought the Televes had the problems same coax cable. Then I went back to the RCA yagi same coax cable and it is performing the same as it did before 52 channels. Thanks for your reply
@@charlescoghill200 Very strange. I have installed about 20 Televes antennas of different models (DAT Boss, Ellipse, Diginova, DAT Boss LR and VZenit) and never had any issues as you described. Why did you use an additional Televes amplifier (model No.?)? The Ellipse is an amplified antenna.
The ellipse will work better but if you have low VHF stations neither will work well. If you aren't sure if you have low VHF in your market consider a custom antenna recommendation at the link below: antennamanpa.com/antenna-recommendations.html
You leave out some basic important information here which should be included in all your antenna reviews. This is an active antenna. Do you test it with power (38 dB gain), or use it as a passive antenna (16 dB gain)? Also, the percentage in your measurements (not only on this antenna) means nothing unless you know the values that lays behind it. What is the signal strength in dBµV? What is the C/N ratio? What about the BER and MER?
Jallenbo, the TForce preamp in the Ellipse will adjust it's gain according to the conditions of the signal being received, so there's not a fixed gain value to be evaluated, but the performance of the solution as a whole, as intended.
@@jurysdoyler in all practicality it does adjust the gain but i tend to think it does this by either a feedback circuit on the output that adjusts the amplification level or it clips the signal at a maximum level. nothing states which strategy it uses but clipping circuits are basic and cant take into account for noise where a decent feedback circuit design will actually filter that noise out. unless ya got lots of bucks to test it most of the numbes he's referring to are subjective as to environment it is used in so manufacturers are reluctant to give them out
@@AntennaMan I understand. It's like when I try to explain that there's no such thing as 'free shipping'.... When you teach multiple choice answers instead of how to think and use reason.... BTW, how much is it for the custom antenna reccomendations? I plan to set up a Tablo and possibly some other OTA network DVR.
I usually charge $20 for the recommendation. Hopefully your reception isn't too bad. It's hard to explain but I can sort of just tell what antenna someone needs based on a single reception report. About 50% can get away with a small antenna, 25% medium, and 25% a large outdoor antenna. 1-3% get no reception at all and I usually refund their money in that case
The DAT BOSS LR Mix has more gain than the Ellipse, depending on your situation that may be needed. If size is no concern, then the DAT BOSS LR Mix will be a safer bet in most situations to get weaker signals.
What is it’s reception angle? Is it mostly directional? I’d also like to see a quality brand TV antenna that has the same range on VHF-Hi and UHF, something like 80 miles. Most antennas boast and have good range on UHF, but their VHF-Hi range is usually disappointing.
I wish I knew. Companies never show the gain pattern on their antennas. It is pretty directional. It does very well on UHF but still adequate for VHF. I don't think there is a combo out there that will do very very good for both. They usually perform slightly better on one band versus the other. The CM5020 did better on VHF.
Most antennas with high VHF capability will pick up a low VHF signal if it is very strong. However if the signals are moderate or weak you definitely need an antenna with a low VHF element on it.

@@Bocaj77 , you only need an electrical outlet to use the power supply for the amp/preamp.

I had one of their antennas installed, not this one. The only regret I have is I did not do it sooner. The picture is very good. Picked up Hi V which is a problem in our area. Had it over six months and have not complaints.
I have had a multi input Televes Mast amplifier for 2 years now. Awesome!!!
Seriously.. This company has been around in the USA since 1972.. That says a lot!
Good build quality!

I've had there antenna for a few years great antenna also a buddy of mine has the pre amp he loved it over the channel master.

Feel free to give a contribution at the link below as I spend A LOT of time making the videos and responding to these comments:

Last Summer, we installed several Televes DATBOSS antennas in an apartment complex 25mi north of Boston. It's in a valley very close to sea level, and there are only a couple channels broadcasting in VHF in our area, so we used the compact UHF-only model. Nevertheless, they still pick up a dozen transmitters (~50 channels), two of which are in Providence RI, 67mi away. We installed a DATBOSS LR (larger model, 83" long) on one building for comparison, but it didn't pick up any new stations over the smaller antenna; just slightly better signal on the existing ones.
The performance of the regular DAT and Ellipse models frequently surprises given the size.
Best installer I've met in the country.
do you have a favorite rotator
What do you do for a customer who has a Low-VHF station in the area?
I don't think Televes makes a VHF-Low capable antenna.
Can two of these be mounted in opposite directions and combined to avoid need for a rotor?
@@muthafuhcka Yes Televes offers a combiner but in my area I'm just picking signal off one tower so I can't help with the details on it. Good luck

Beautiful timing. "Televés is a very large antenna company...".
At the same time, a huge yellow parabolic antenna pops up on the screen 😀
My father-in-law got a new Televes antenna, installed by technicians, no charge. It is a high-V/UHF antenna, which means he can't watch one of the local channels in his area.
His satellite provider did this, no doubt, because it means the networks can't cut him off during retransmission conflicts.
I've always liked the Televes design philosophy. Functional and long lasting.
I learned of Televes earlier this week while searching for a potential antenna for my mom. Most outdoor antenna brands I saw growing up were AntennaCraft, Channel Master, and RCA.
I have the uhf version of this antenna I don't use the Built-in amplifier I use my own amplifiers but pretty pleased with it
I live in Finland, Europe but I'm Swedish speaking, so last summer I bought the biggest Televes UHF antenna and now I can watch Swedish television with perfect picture quality, even the HD channels. It's about 75 miles to the Swedish transmitter. Televes DAT Boss LR is the model I use together with their power supply unit to get the most out of this great antenna. Here you can read more about their products www.televes.com
I'm so happy that even the Antenna Man tried this antenna. One question though, did you test it together with the power supply unit? The range will increase when it's connected to the power supply unit, but it works also without power.

Gotta love an antenna in Hotrod yellow.
New name in tv antennas for me, but glad I found out about them here!

Yes!! Tyler, you have to test the Fracarro Elika Pro, if you can buy it in the US:

Hi Tyler,
I appreciate your last RUclips cast on the Televes Ellipse Max Antenna.
I liked it antenna I wish they'd sell at the United States looks nice and great built gee that's really nice looking
Yes I got a few stations 80 miles away two nights ago

Apparently Televes is the brand of anttenna that Sling TV/Dish uses when they do antenna installs.
They use a different model. I'll see if I can test that one out in the future. I try to give all antenna brands a chance. So far this company has been decent but I only tried one model.

I'm going to have a small concrete base (mast sitting on top), and two wall brackets to support the mast up the end of the house. In general what companies do you think build beefy, high quality mounts such as this?
Mostly this company and Channel Master's Masterpiece Series
@@AntennaMan Thank you sir.

Tyler,
Which antenna do you recommend ?
Antennas Direct Clearstream 4V TV Antenna
verses
Televes Ellipse Mix VHF/UHF Outdoor TV Antenna
@@jurysdoyler in all practicality it does adjust the gain but i tend to think it does this by either a feedback circuit on the output that adjusts the amplification level or it clips the signal at a maximum level. nothing states which strategy it uses but clipping circuits are basic and cant take into account for noise where a decent feedback circuit design will actually filter that noise out. unless ya got lots of bucks to test it most of the numbes he's referring to are subjective as to environment it is used in so manufacturers are reluctant to give them out
I notice your Amazon recommendations include the Televes DATBOSS, not this model, I'm curious why?
I can't include too many antennas or people get confused
I believe Televes was the brand of antenna being installed by Dish's antenna installation service.
It is
Wish you'd share your opinion of the Televes DAT BOSS LR Mix vs this antenna. I'm trying to decide betweent the two. The DAT BOSS is larger
It's larger and will likely work better than the Ellipse.
Not a bad antenna I wish there was more information about the VHF specs on how low it can go on that band ex can it pick up VHF RF channel 4.
Most antennas with high VHF capability will pick up a low VHF signal if it is very strong. However if the signals are moderate or weak you definitely need an antenna with a low VHF element on it.
