The table is a brilliant use of the oak beam. Maybe have a brass plaque engraved with the history of the where the wood came from and attach it on the underside so in the future people will know it’s history.
I can’t phanthom why so few of you can’t manage to click onto the LIKE Button, pls have some respect for all of the hard work that goes into bringing us these amazing vlogs. As an added bonus we could bring Billy’s subscribers up to 400k, thank you people❤
Wow! Your Dad has mentored and fathered you and your siblings. And now he generously shares his experience and wisdom with Yannis. What a fortunate young man to have you, your Dad, Michael, and Simon to teach him and look what a craftsman he's becoming. I continue to be amazed by your vision and respect for materials harvested from the building! The table will be marvelous! I believe prayers support you I know mine do...much love❤❤❤ Nana in USA
LOVE the idea of the table made from the beam. I find that reusing things like that continues the legacy and essence of the past which is such a wonderful thing.
Billy, what a great way to be able to reclaim and reuse the surplus oak beam. Your deliberate efforts to sympathetically renew the convent and the materials (stone, wood, etc.) are admirable.
Billy My heart just melted! I had asked that you build a table for the dining room using that beam. So happy pieces from building is reused for such a beautiful project!!!❤❤❤❤
The previous owners of the convent- Would be so thrilled to see what you’re doing ! Things are moving along so quickly. Everyone working with you now and in the past -are part of the wonderful dream team bringing the convent back to life !
Oh wow, that monastic table will be incredible. What a perfect thing to create from the ancient beam. I love the way you think Billy. Everything you create will live for generations to come.
I sure do enjoy these videos. Just think how far you've gotten at this amazing restoration and transformation. The table would be perfect plus recycling and using local business is always nice. The quick shot of the image of what will be was very exciting. Be safe crew. Thanks again Billy for sharing this history.
Every episode here is priceless. Sharing talent and skill with grace is why I watch these videos. I love that Rick is spotting the Master and the Apprentice. This is a little heaven on Earth.
Oh my goodness when Yanis says……Lets Crack On! It makes me smile! Great Job guys. Billy thanks for sharing the vision you have for the library. Billy you truly are gifted❤️
Love that you will reuse the timber from the beam for a table to keep it in the convent. That thing is a beast - it will take some muscle to get it into the truck to transport it but it’s well worth the effort.
Love the table idea Billy, also that the beam will remain in the convent. Great description of the steelwork, every day’s a school day with the Pethericks ❤️
You all amaze me - with just a few of you - tons of work gets done. It worries me a bit with your Health and Safety Measures, but I am always impressed!! Well Done!
The scale for the kitchen is fantastic!!! Just think, a 250-year-old oak timber being made into a grand dining table. WOW! The library will be so great and inspiring. I am in awe with your plans. Thank you for your videos. Hello from Yakima, Washington, USA
The fact that you're going to use the beam to make a table. It's awesome. I love this idea fact that it came from the building. You're making a table for the building. Love it, love the idea. Also monastic tables are awesome.
I really enjoy seeing Billy’s dad and yannis work together - the generations together is always promising - the education that yannis is getting from Dad is priceless !!!
Watching these videos, I figure that Mick is a strong, silent, soft spoken, hard working man, but whenever Yanis says "crack on", you see Mick crack a smile! Love it!
I believe a huge oak monastic dining table is the perfect idea for that old beam and the new dining room. What a fantastic idea Billy. More exciting things to come!
Everything is looking great Billy! So fortunate to have such wonderful help! I'm a little concerned about you, though, Billy. You are looking a little too thin. Are you feeling well? Eat more and rest more. Stay healthy!❤
Well it is.. most young people who are learning a trades first goes to school to learn about the basics and the laws and regulations, safety and all they need. After that they learn through apprenticeship while getting paid for it. Through these years , they work with professionals having a signed mentors helping them out and guaranteeing for their standard of work. After finishing the apprenticeships , they have the theoretical and the practical exams and passing them , they become professionals with a diploma. After working a few years working , they can study some more and take the exams to become a master of his/ her trade. I don’t know how you think people become educated and professional at a trade😮
Monastics oak table - excellent idea. I'd like to see some day this table in a dinning room. How great is to watching all this conversion...all the best for your dad. It is enjoying watching him how he is operate with bricks and concrete.
Each of you involved in any project you are currently undertaking has every reason to feel proud of the progress your talents and experience bring toward achieving a thoughtful, carefully planned restoration. I so enjoy watching these videos. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Thank you for showing us your rendering of the future library………..it will be gorgeous. Perhaps a lovely chandelier hanging in the opening ??? Yannis is such a hard worker. I hope you keep him on in some capacity, when the construction is complete. A hard worker, with so much knowledge of the renovation……….valuable asset !
The log beam is most definitely seasoned so there will be no loss through boards drying. It maybe worth leaving some extra thickness in the dimensions as the boards may cup when the stresses are released though the cuts. When doing woodwork using rough cut boards I've always experienced loss as I removed cupping and removed saw marks from the mill. Given the age of this wood and it's history with the convent I'd maybe cut at 8 to 8.5 cm to ensure I finish at 7.5cm. This will be a beautiful addition to the space.
A spiral Staircase ? I support your view on that Billy. No need. To me at this point it would be a decorative Thing. But, IF EVER you should have the need for a Spiral Staircase, well, it could always be added. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the the final Project ; )). Beautiful Idea of transforming the Beam in to a Monastic Table! Wow!
Dear Billy. This library is going to be the paramount room of the Convent I think. Rick is THE Torville and Dean of Bucket Catching. Loved this video. Warmest wishes. Pam
Brilliant Billy! Thank you for showing how the next beams will be attached. What a fantastic idea for using the wooden beam for a great, large table. It never fails to make me chuckle to hear and see Yanis say "Let's Clack on"!
All of you work so very hard! It is amazing to me how much knowledge, vision and skill you have to make this a reality. Your Dad is a master craftsman and teacher!
Love the table idea. I did a trestle table about 20 years ago. 10 foot by 42 inches. Customer had it made for resale and ended up keeping it for his shop to roll rugs out for customers viewing. Fun project.
👍 The library is going to be stunning. And just imagine the book hunting coming up. Ooh, how exciting! ( yes, I'm a bibliophile ) - Or maybe you already have heaps of books?
I get the question about the staircase (spiral or other) within the library, there is something magical about being in that sanctity of a library space, something that might become more rare. Big love for all you do and your vision. You’re an inspiration.
the old girl is really coming back to life !!!! It's just amazing to watch . Your work team is fantastic and it just makes my morning so happy to watch :)))))))
All so exciting!! Have read many of the earlier comments & can only say, I AGREE with all the positive comments. Billy is a VISIONARY!! And what a great team. Blessings, all!
Love the idea of repurposing the oak beam and turning it into a table 💖
I feel that the music reflects how historical and everlasting this structure will be to the community and to worldwide enjoyment.
Yes! That’s exactly what I came here to say. Absolutely perfect choice! Love everything about this project!
Yes, it's epic music for an epic effort.
The table is a brilliant use of the oak beam. Maybe have a brass plaque engraved with the history of the where the wood came from and attach it on the underside so in the future people will know it’s history.
Yanis is going to be a brilliant all rounder once hes learnt all the trades you guys are showing him, well done Yanis.
“Rounder” so there is a name for many talents. 😊

A refrectory table made from oak from within the convent will be very special, great idea
LOVE the idea of the table made from the beam. I find that reusing things like that continues the legacy and essence of the past which is such a wonderful thing.
Nice overlay of the rendering of the finished library over the open space. Really drove the design home and gave it reality.
The vision of the library looks amazing ❤
LOVE the superimposed image of the completed library over the current state and work going on. It is grand.
That’s the right guy for the job your father is the expert❤

I love watching your father do stonework. It's always so calm & soothing. He's so skilled & makes it look easy.
That quick virtual layover of future library is very inspiring. I'm so glad we get to watch it appear.
The library and table will both be very beautiful, only because Billy is such a perfectionist. Way to go Billy!
That scale is perfect. Everything is coming together so wonderfully
A monastic dining table!! Your head and heart are in the right place……just WOW. Can hardly wait.
a monastic oak dining table is such a wonderful plan.❤
That table would be amazing and have a soul!
Watching the stonework is fascinating - it’s like a jigsaw puzzle! So happy you’ll be making a communal table from the beams - seems fitting.
I sure do enjoy these videos. Just think how far you've gotten at this amazing restoration and transformation. The table would be perfect plus recycling and using local business is always nice. The quick shot of the image of what will be was very exciting. Be safe crew. Thanks again Billy for sharing this history.
The table is a great idea going to be a real fine fixture. So proud to see you bring the grace and beauty back to an old tired building.
So proud of Yannis. He is learning so much. He will be able to anywhere for a job after the convent is done. If that ever happens. ❤
Jannis will have a job with The Pethricks for a very long time.
I’m jealous at this find and how well you’ve restored it, stunning!
It's going to be so beautiful! You are a man of vision, Billy.
I’m so happy about that monastic table project. I’m sure you will turn it into a true monument
Every episode here is priceless. Sharing talent and skill with grace is why I watch these videos. I love that Rick is spotting the Master and the Apprentice. This is a little heaven on Earth.
The rendering of the library is fantastic! The plan to use the oak beam for a dining table is excellent!
Especially loved the music and the visual representation of the completed balcony.
Makes it even more emotional with the lovely music.
Great team. You must be so proud of your father. He’s amazing.
You should display a small piece of that beam in the library so people can see up close how huge the beams are in the ceiling
Brilliant idea 💡 using the beam for the table 👍🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
Oh my goodness when Yanis says……Lets Crack On! It makes me smile! Great Job guys. Billy thanks for sharing the vision you have for the library. Billy you truly are gifted❤️
The table is a brilliant idea. So few must be that size throughout the country. Can’t wait to see it
Love that you will reuse the timber from the beam for a table to keep it in the convent. That thing is a beast - it will take some muscle to get it into the truck to transport it but it’s well worth the effort.
Yannis is getting a top notch hands on education and is becoming a valued part of the team !
Is he going to be gifted with a trowel for his tool kit? Finishing trowel from Simon and Concrete trowel from Mick?
A dining table like that would be a pretty special piece of furniture. Again Billy, your vision is inspirational.
Love the idea of reusing the oak beam and turning it into a table ❤❤❤❤❤
Love the table idea Billy, also that the beam will remain in the convent. Great description of the steelwork, every day’s a school day with the Pethericks ❤️

I still say that an OVAL opening would be stunning!
It would look great i’ve seen some designs but im going with straight lines in this old place!
@@ThePethericks Old places never have precise measurements. Always wonky!
Love how you have put your imagined library image over the one that’s there now. It’s going to be amazing ❤
So excited to see the library take shape ❤
Each day is a huge accomplishment for yourself and the team… Your father is a master of all trades by what we see…. Amazing!

Each time I see the outside view of the building, I'm amazed at how huge the building really is. I'm looking forward to seeing the library take shape.
The stairs that slide on rail thru the library would be sweet. So much saved wood from previous work
The fact that you're going to use the beam to make a table. It's awesome. I love this idea fact that it came from the building. You're making a table for the building. Love it, love the idea. Also monastic tables are awesome.
You might be able to get blocks for the spindles on the library railing out of those beams. That would be really amazing.

Great idea on the table!!!!💗
I was Thinking that you could Mill that huge Beam to make something Epic with the Timber ...Brilliant idea with the Table !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Janice is having a phenomenal apprenticeship! I wish that system of launching young men into the trades was more commonplace nowadays.

Fantastic reuse of the beam…
Love every bit of rebuild from old to New old you are doing. AMAZING!
Prefect way to honor an old piece of wood

Yes, I was wondering how the cross beams get secured. Can’t wait to see them go in tomorrow!
All of you work so very hard! It is amazing to me how much knowledge, vision and skill you have to make this a reality. Your Dad is a master craftsman and teacher!
Using that extremely well seasoned wood for furniture is a great use of the materials!
You must have some powerful bird poopers if Rick needs to wear a hard hat cutting the grass!
😂😂😅😊❤ maybe worried about falling debris?
that scale is so Beautiful!!!
Wow, this is major, beautiful, and wonderful. Thank you for sharing!!!
Love the table idea. I did a trestle table about 20 years ago. 10 foot by 42 inches. Customer had it made for resale and ended up keeping it for his shop to roll rugs out for customers viewing. Fun project.
