Some level 190 guy helped me out and used lunchboxes I didnt even know that was a thing and he took me to Westtek and killed all the enemies, he got me like 10 levels. Cool dude
Well it should be well known by now we have a bunch of new players so i just want to help as much as possible. The beginning of the game is really tough for a new player. Thanks for the nice ;)
so your advice is to forget the game, run across the map against the hardest enemies. Cheese them for kills? Thats the way to keep the players enjoying the game!
@@TheJdog720 There’s no cheesing involved. He’s providing a suggestion for people looking to level up faster. He made very good points in this video about completing your questline and keeping an eye out for events and that sort of thing
Thank you SO much for this. New player, started 1st char at level 2 per advice to "learn the game". 48 hours later, I was level 30 and very unhappy with my build (but had a lot of fun creeping my way up and uncovering a lot of map locations, unlocking Expeditions, etc. I had really crap weapons except for a Cold Shoulder that somehow got me through even though it was stuck at level 15. This morning spent 3 hours on a new, 2nd char at level 20 Commando per your advice here. Already at level 26 with tons of legendary drops from events, camp set up near WestTek, loving the build and doing great per your advice. Thank you!!!
I just been playing it like a normal fallout game doing the main quest line and then other things as i find them. Might not be the fastest way but it has been fun.
Another quick tip if you're fresh out of the Vault, ok this is maybe more my opinion but try to get Gunsmith (Intelligence perks) to level 3 asap if you chose the Commando build at the start. Most likely your starting Automatic Combat Rifle that fires .38s will break roughly around level 25-27 (for me was 27). If you have Gunsmith at rank 3, you can craft a brand new Automatic Combat Rifle that uses .45 ammo. If you need .45 ammo, all you need is Unrefined Gunpowder (3), Lead (4) and Steel (10) at a Tinkerer's Workbench, all of these are really quite common as you run around and loot / scrap. I was around the Capital building area (near the mines in the southwest) and started with roughly 300x .45 rounds, after killing all the plentiful Scorched there I ended up at roughly 500x rounds. Always sneak and shoot each Scorched like 3x, they drop anywhere from 7-12 .45 rounds on each corpse lol.
@@shaktipunk to be honest not much. both are quite common ammo types, I just meant that when you craft your own Automatic Combat Rifle, you’ll only have the .45 variant option at first. you could mass craft and scrap Combat Rifles and if you’re lucky, just learn the .38 automatic receiver and use that. in the long run I think anyways you’ll probably want a Fixer automatic rifle, which also is .45 I think.
@@stormtrooperjon9212 the gun you uses ammo drops on the enemies after death too right? I just started and have been using a laser rifle i found from the start and i have over 1000 rounds in it at level 15 just from killing scorched. They always seem to drop the ammo of the weapon i killed them with.
@@CloroxBleach-qy7vy that's correct, pretty much every ammo type drops from the weapon you use, maybe with the exception of Mini Nukes from a Fatman & Fusion Cores in a Gatling Laser. The problems start to arise when it takes more ammo to kill enemies without the same or more return on the bodies...such as Cryo ammo for Cryolators for example
First time playing since launch! Totally different game. It is way more fun and loaded with content. It’s almost confusing. Thanks for helping guide us new folks
I recommend leveling normally because you’re going to have no weapons, money, or anything at 50 and are going to get absolutely destroyed and be wayyy behind with general progression 🤷🏽♂️
I must say there are some AMAZING higher level people on this game. I haven’t played in ages and was on PC but I’m starting new on PS5 and I have had a few level 400-500 players really just take me in and help me out with events, giving me items, gear and so on 🙏🏼
It's funny, these are og tips from launch. The only one I haven't seen yet is setting up a turret camp in the bottom right by the deathclaw spawn or mirelurk queen. Except we didn't have premade builds, interesting new features I think a lot of mmos should adopt. Starting from level 1 is daunting. I run the stealth commando build. You should eventually spec into adrenaline. The bloodied build is probably the best.
I personally just unlock EXPEDITIONS, create a melee build, find a chainsaw, get bow bar, and flame mod from train station, then run through ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK on repeat. Im sure you could fo it with COMMANDO too. Just create ammo from the Tinker workbench. Shotgun won't do it, because you need to have the cold shoulder, which you get from using 500 Expedition stamps.
Reclamation (25% Extra XP for 2 hours) will have worn out long before you complete that. Although expos are good for XP, they are no where near WestTek.
@@MrWestTek admittedly only useful with a high level friend, but most dangerous game is mega fast, and a pretty easy 20k xp per run if new players join

Little tip if there’s an event always join it and don’t waste your bullets you only need one shot on a enemy to get its loot and your likely going to get more ammo then you used and get a lot of xp
Hey man I’m currently level 124 I want to get higher level to get more legendary perks, would you recommend this method still or alternative? I’m a bloodied stealth commando
I'd recommend getting a full set of unyielding armor, refer to the description and start learning about XP and intelligence buffs. Then apply that to what you already got figured out and hit WestTek as it's the best place for XP.
My only suggestion as someone who's got 7.5k hrs into the game, please don't rush as a new player. Take your time and enjoy the game for what it is. Getting to the high hundreds as fast as you can and still not knowing what is going on isn't going to add to your enjoyment.
The first time you go into West-Tek it is a very confusing layout, by level 819 you have such an in depth understanding of the layout that it's almost like you built the place. Edit to add you can buy Lunchboxes with gold bullion, I know because I have about 200 in reserve.
I always wanted to get into this game and I would never make it past level 10. But I started back and and picked and the level 20 build and now I’m in the high sixties that is all the push I needed and I’m totally hooked on it now 😊I was struggling a bit because I love shotguns but after some videos and starting to use V.A.T.S it slaps now this game is great I love it as a solo totally recommend it
See that's the thing eh, the difficulty at the beginning I'm sure deters players. You got to keep at it and it turns into an addiction!! Thanks for the nice comment :)
I’m currently a level 19 and seem to be struggling a lot with weapon damage and honestly staying alive. I don’t know if it’s because I just spec’d into perks wrong or if that’s just how this game is supposed to be. I do tend to play by myself unless my friend is on, but he mainly just builds bases. I rarely run missions or events with him. Should I just restart?
I highly recommend for new players to look up how to get “The Fixer” it’s a super easy legendary that’s really easy to get like stupid easy you don’t even have to kill any1 and the gun is really good
As a senior level player, I feel obliged to pop 4 lunchboxes at every event. I'm happy to see a lvl34 pop one, but I wish there was an emote for "my treat" or something similar
I love your videos and I’m a veteran player always watching these to see how I can improve. I’m guiding some new players through leveling up and curious at what point they should be doing their quests and finishing the storyline? I did mine right away, had no idea about any XP buffs back in the day unfortunately, and I’m sure I missed out on a lot during those quests because I was so low level. Any advice is helpful, thanks!! 🙏
New player here. What is the crit button and focused fire thing you mentioned? Must have missed that from the tutorial popups. Playing on PC. Also, another question. I got Fallout 1st for like 70 cents, what are some good things to buy for stoms apart from lunchboxes? Any good utility stuff maybe?
Thanks a lot bro. I was playing Fallout 76 like a headless chicken, this is a lot to take in but It will be a nice learning curve. One last question. I started with the shot gunner build, should I respec to the commando build or continue normally?
Another quality video from @MrWestTek if you’re not subscribing and following daily you’re missing out on some of the most informative videos to improve your game.
I recently got back into the game I was level 60 or so on my Xbox until I switched to pc and all I’ve been doing is going to high level events and trying to shoot as many of the high level enemies as possible to maximize xp I’m level 22 I hope the high levels that carry me understand that I’d help more if I could
What does leveling up do? What if you don't like joining teams and being social? Can you not just play the main/side quests and level up organically? Leveling up just to level up doesn't look or sound like fun.
Was on a server last night where a lvl59 nuked the queen, and only me and him showed up for most of it. We got like 1 other person late into the event.
Im level 70 currently. My brain is just a mess with everything. I just got the nuka grenades and I have a railway rifle with no mods yet but I have +50% crit dam and some others. Can I just make the nuka grenades and use them with the rifle at west tek solo?
For this guide do you have to have alot of perk points in intelligence? I'm going with a stealth commando build which only has a few intelligence points
im level 50 ish and mix matched too many perks and its just a mess of random stuff haha. Im not too far into the quest line do you think I should restart and choose better options for perks and do it right??
The game used to be a pain when it came to this. I remember wanting to use strong legendaries that catered to different builds and having to make entire new characters and grind missions and farm enemies to level them up. Nowadays there’s a machine that’s in a lot of areas around the map (you can build it at your camp and there’s one in every station with a vendor) where you can make “presets” of S.P.E.C.I.A.L point distributions and adjust your own. Just keep in mind that you still need to level up to unlock new perk cards!
Also a good way to level up early is to join an expedition team with possibly one high level player in it. You will get up to 20K XP per run with the team bonus alone and even 40K XP with other bonuses like lunchboxes. On top you of that you will get a lot of legendaries, caps, modules, ammo. Don't be afraid to join because you might not be of much help, because most high level players should be able to carry and also don't care
this is actually a very balanced way of leveling up its not the best but you will earn stamps, caps, ammo, and xp and this is a good way to save resources and gather up resources
I've played this game on and off since launch, came back after the hype of the TV show, and I still suck xD I really don't understand how people do so much damage and have so much health. I'm level 44 and struggle to do basic quests without nearly dying so many times and having to use at least 10+ stimpacks per quest
Same I just starting playing after 2 years and made a new character and got to level 20. I just die during quest no gun I get does enough damage expect for feral ghouls. Was having fun but my lack of knowledge on the game is keeping me from having fun tbh
@@RecKzXP I think the main cause of this is how they made it so that enemies now scale with your level 🤷♂️ I much preferred it when enemies in different areas were different levels
I'm a big noobie in this game but I did start from lvl 1 instead of the instant 20, and worked me up to 26. What's the name of your weapon at start? I'm working with the perks to use an automatic weapon but so far I haven't got any close to "decent" yet so I'm still running with M10 pistol and revolver.. it should have been changed for my lvl I believe 😂 Anyway your videos are good and informative 😊
I was just looking for somethihg to grind til I could hit 50. Still intimidated by public events because just have starter Commando gear. But for some reason I didn't think of West-Tek despite hearing about folks grinding it before!
I haven't played fallout since 3 so I'm pretty much a noob. So you've been my source for much info, so thanks a lot. Still struggling with basic controls that is sometimes hard to experiment. In vats how do you switch limb targets? I tried to switch because at certain times it always aims at the left leg or particular torso. I suddenly started to walk slow ( in armor and out of) even though my AP, belly and water is full; I think it was the missile launcher I had picked up. I had a 100% full fusion core and I depleted it in a few minutes of activity. It seems I should only put on the armor before battle unless there's some armor mod that extends their use. it just seems silly to be carrying all that weight for a few minutes of use. Also, made a noob mistake by buying a settler's camp from the shop, thinking it was an added camp slot. It wasn't. I had to buy a camp slot through the map/camp menu. I'm not even sure what that settler's camp was all about. Is everything purchaseable by using in-game money system like caps and atoms? What are the other currencies in the game? Legends? Don't know what that is. Is there a way to re-do your perks/points allocation? Is there some sort of way to switch between builds/perks allocation? Is there some world chat that I can activate so I can ask players in the phase that I am in about noob questions? I see a friends list but are there guilds or something in the game? What's the max number of toon slots until I have to start buying them? So yeah, any beginner's info is very much appreciated in your videos and Bethesda was smart to put out that 1 week free access. I decided to sub for a month for 50% and will probably go to the annual sub for 1 year afterwards.
Switching limbs in VATS comes from a perception perk card called concentrated fire, you will unlock it through time with perk packs and choices. If you’re moving slow you likely have a crippled limb or are over-encumbered, but check your effects tab in the pip boy to be sure. You can re-allocate special stats at a punch card machine, just travel around to peoples camps and you’ll find them! You can switch between multiple builds there. Take advantage of public teams! Most people are friendly. Happy wastelanding
The only issue I have with the commando build is that the automatic weapons eat ammo like crazy. I never have enough ammunition. I had to switch to a rifle build. I am still pretty low level at 60. I have a sniper weapon and I am getting so much ammo. I can’t run out. With the automatic weapons I run out like crazy.
My problem is I’m levelling up too quickly, getting low levels asking me for help and I can barely help myself. Still using same weapon i had from the start and I’m level 47 now with decent armours but not good enough ahah
Remember playing this game at launch and being majorly dissatisfied, the lack of npcs everything I’m sorry it was horrible. Thought I’d give it a second chance the other day and wow have they revived it, it’s like a completely different game. Very good community, Fun to play with layers, Fun missions just good fun.
Everyone says ammo drops for what you killed the mobs with. I just must be awful at aiming, cuz by level 23 i was out of .38 ammo for my rifle. Trying to craft it makes me just want to restart as melee.
question. Are there any good non PA non bloodied powerfist builds ?. All i see are either PA or bloodied. I'm a fan of Warhammer 40k and i can't get rid of this craving to make a Commisar build with a powerfist, giving my enemies a proper fisting.
I don’t need to watch this. I have two level 600+ characters but like, good channel so I’ll watch and comment and like to promote the video to new players.
dunno why people are so obsessed with levelling as quickly as possible, just enjoy the game xd. good video but surely this can't be what you recommend for new players. they'll just burn out
I was with him until he said bloody build.. yes you’ll get alot of xp but noobs trying this will die constantly and you’ll just loose out on xp gains especially during public events.
Just before it starts or even when you get there. Often others will pop them as well and you don't need more than 4! So check your stats and see it says 100%

Leveling up a new mule I ran The Most Sensational Game over and over, netting about three levels per run (this is without XP buffs).
They named a place after you! Cool!
Thanks so much for this comment, cheers :)
Remember to never give the pipe gun the side eye in 76 it is pretty good with an automatic conversion
I recently got back into the game I was level 60 or so on my Xbox until I switched to pc and all I’ve been doing is going to high level events and trying to shoot as many of the high level enemies as possible to maximize xp I’m level 22 I hope the high levels that carry me understand that I’d help more if I could
Im just jumping back into the game and these videos are great for a refresher. Any chance youll be doing a beginner energy build?
What does leveling up do? What if you don't like joining teams and being social? Can you not just play the main/side quests and level up organically? Leveling up just to level up doesn't look or sound like fun.
pour one out for my wasted cryptid event last night that nobody showed up to :(
yeah since everyone started playing F76 all of a sudden, Im getting almost no one that joins my daily ops
Just join expeditions ammo gear and xp. Rank 1 to 50 in few hours and plenty of supplies and gear aswell as legendary gear 👍
My heart smiles seeing that this has almost 4k likes
For this guide do you have to have alot of perk points in intelligence? I'm going with a stealth commando build which only has a few intelligence points
im level 50 ish and mix matched too many perks and its just a mess of random stuff haha. Im not too far into the quest line do you think I should restart and choose better options for perks and do it right??
Put down a "punch car machine" at your camp, you can move around points and perks there :). Don't restart.
You can respec your character with the punch card machine! There is no need to restart! There's one in whitespring if you don't wanna build it
Also a good way to level up early is to join an expedition team with possibly one high level player in it.
Not a bad idea, but not reliable if I'm being honest.
ima try this rather then w3st tek is seems very tedious boring and time consuming
this is actually a very balanced way of leveling up its not the best but you will earn stamps, caps, ammo, and xp and this is a good way to save resources and gather up resources
@@xzeraCS west tek is super easy just kill everyone there definitely not tedious but very boring
Really love watching your vids
I'm a big noobie in this game but I did start from lvl 1 instead of the instant 20, and worked me up to 26.
What's the name of your weapon at start? I'm working with the perks to use an automatic weapon but so far I haven't got any close to "decent" yet so I'm still running with M10 pistol and revolver.. it should have been changed for my lvl I believe 😂
Anyway your videos are good and informative 😊
These guides are all well and good but what if you don't pull those perk cards when you level up?
1:40 I feel challenged to test just how badly those super mutants will light me up😤😂
Its my First time in The game, im lvl 81 and im watching tô learn more my English
Your English is pretty good 👌
I was just looking for somethihg to grind til I could hit 50.
@@joshdevereaux5769 Thanks for all that info. I will investigate further with all that info you provided.
been playing this since i was a wee lil vault dweller and can tell you if you want a way more fun experience play from level 1
Love you videos man. Any tips on ealru heavy weapons
After about 3 hours grinding i hit lvl 9 hell yeahh
My problem is I’m levelling up too quickly, getting low levels asking me for help and I can barely help myself. Still using same weapon i had from the start and I’m level 47 now with decent armours but not good enough ahah
Maybe I should be doing this because after I hit 20 it felt like xp really slowed down. All I want to do is get to 50 so I can get my good backpack
I put a ton into Intelligence, it payed off quick
I was level five, and I went to that event with the wind that goes under the ground
Thumbs up to everyone over level 100 like me but watches his videos because we love the content
Well thanks so much !!
Does this work when you start a character from level 1?
I’ve just been jumping into every event I see, already lvl 63 with 2,000+ treasury notes
dunno why people are so obsessed with levelling as quickly as possible, just enjoy the game xd. good video but surely this can't be what you recommend for new players. they'll just burn out
The event thing was super useful
It's how I rank up a new character :)
didn't consitrated fire get reworked?
I was with him until he said bloody build.. yes you’ll get alot of xp but noobs trying this will die constantly and you’ll just loose out on xp gains especially during public events.
I Nuka-nade my way through West-Tek. I can't see what I'm doing but I know where to put the grenades.
When do you pop the lunch boxes, before during or after the event?
Just before it starts or even when you get there. Often others will pop them as well and you don't need more than 4! So check your stats and see it says 100%
@@MrWestTek Thanks for that.
thank you for this i am lvl 25 and i am having a hard time with hunter rifel build, i am thinking off restarting sins i can start at lvl 20
Yo, can you do an updated vid of all xp buffs 2024 ?
The video is only a few hours old. Seems a little early to ask for an update.
@@captaingrumbletummies869I’m speakin on a vid he did months ago about all xp buffs in 2023.
I've been playing almost a year and a half. I still learn things from Mr. Westek. His livestreams are also helpful and the chat is mostly helpful, except that one guy, Coats2112. Watch out for him and his snarky remarks.
LOL thanks for watching buddy :)
I know it varies BUT how long would you say it took you to get to lvl 100
What armor should i get ?
I'm day 2: Would it be faster to just chain events? They seem to pop as soon as the last one ends.
found this at lvl 98.. highly recommend haha
The Railway rifle I'm guessing lol
Going to West Tek. Name checks out. ✔️
😂😂
How to survive Scorched Earth - I got RADS very quickly. Also there is a flying "boss?" that is very hard to kill. Thanks. Maybe you load up on RAD-X? i.e. Early in the game. I am NON PA so if you are what early on armor are you using? I know you mentiob unshielding Armor but that should be later on.
so i did a run in whitesprings and westtek. now im out of ammo, but i went up 3 levels. best way to farm ammo?
omgggggggg there is a crit button?? and change target button to get the head as your target on vats???? wtf
I have a strange question. If you were to play with no cards at all what weapons if any could you complete the game with?
probably charisma pacifier like in fo4 but im not sure if you can do that here
Probably mutations low health build and unyielding armor but fists instead of unyielding
What is the best gun for beginners in your opinion
If you're just starting our pick the shotgun class and start at lvl 20. Then change ur build later.
can u give me any advice around spending caps? i’m level 29 and have about 1.5k caps idk what to spend them on
Save them for good level 50 legendaries at player vendors! It’s worth the investment
@@joshdevereaux5769 thanks man. I nearly blew all my caps on a handmade gun plan so i could keep crafting them and scrapping them for mods but i realised that was a bad idea
Man I’m only getting 200 per kill and I cant use unyielding since I rely on power armor I even have 26 int which doesn’t make sense
This area is not for solo low levels.
