    Your wonderful bra making skills are clear here and you have done so much to open the doors to women to make, fit and sew their own bras. I love wearing my own fitted and sewn bras. You give so much creativity to add beauty to your bras and simplify the process. Thanks for sharing all this great information.

    Thank you for your really helpful tutorial. I'm about to embark upon making my first bra and had already chosen the Emerald Erin Black Beauty bra, so I'm thilled to have found your sewalong and this additional tutorial. Thank you very much for your very informative videos. Many thanks, Claire

    One newbie mistake I made was covering the interior seams on the foam with satin ribbon. Since the ribbon has zero stretch to it, it ended up distorting the shape of the cups when I put the bra on. Definitely stick with bias or twill tape lol

    Thank you very much Liz for this very helpful tutorial. I was wondering how to do for the marborough bra because of the power bar. Is it neccesary to just remove the seam allowance near the fram and on the top of the power bar ? Thank you for your help. (Excuse for my english, I'm french)

    What do I need to do to a pattern that is designed for stretch fabric when working out how big I need to cut my foam? Also, can I cut up moulded foam from old bras and use that instead to reduce waste? Should I bother cutting the pattern pieces out of it or should I just cut the outer edges of moulded foam so it fits within the cup?

    Hi Liz !
    I enjoy your videos pretty much !
    I made 2 Black Beauty last few weeks and would liked to add CSF to the next one but the pattern pieces allowed for them are too big (same dimensions than fabric pieces). Would it be a good way to cut the appropriate edges a little bit, let say about 2 mm?
    Thank you !

    Have you ever tried using liner foam (from Bra Builders) as opposed to cut and sew foam?

    • @LizSews
      @LizSews  4 года назад

      I haven't tried Bra Builder's foam, but according to Sue it sews up the same as Cut & Sew. Just butt up the edges and zig-zag them together.

    Is the foam sufficient to not have "headlights"?? Or is a molded foam cup necessary? Sadly I'm a very cold-blooded person in a cold climate

    • @LizSews
      @LizSews  4 года назад +1

      I find cut & sew foam is sufficient even when wet. Some shops sell what is called "spacer" foam which I find does not do as good of a job.

    Have u ever used premade insert cups or a seamless bra?

    • @LizSews
      @LizSews  3 года назад +2

      No because premade cups won’t fit me. My wire is 3 sizes bigger than my standard cup volume. With pre made You lose the ability to customize your size which defeats the whole purpose of making my own. Honestly if you’re bra fits properly I’ve never had any issues with seams showing under my clothes

  • @fangchick93

    I figured out a pattern for a crocheted bra. I’m pretty sure that when I make it out of cotton yarn I will need to have a foam insert for better support.
    Edit:
    I’ve already made it out of acrylic yarn but I want to make it again out of cotton for better temperature control
