The practise of jumping into icy water from a hot sauna is thousands of years old Finnish tradition, that is still alive in moder-day Finland. We make an avanto, hole into the ice of a lake or sea and swim there, swapping between sauna and water. It makes miracles to your blood circulation, mixed with vihta/vasta, a tied-up bunch of young birch sprigs that you beat your body with. It exfoliates dead skin, cleans it and improves blood circulation. In addition, this is all sacred and spiritual in our folklore, sadly the spas around the world don't respect sauna's roots.
I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there are lots of Finnish people, they’ve shown us that tradition and it’s an everyday thing up here now!SISU!!
Can I ask how the sticks exfoliate the body? They seem rather impractical and as if they would only hit certian areas. I hope this doesn't sound ignorant as I'm a big fan of traditional and natural medicines and remedies.
Kara and Nate on RUclips have a video where they visited a traditional sauna in Finnish Lapland, it’s really cool!! They showed the culture in a very real way :)
If Eugene was there he would have have really slapped his chest instead of Keith and Zach’s kitty paws 😂 Ned would have probably done the same to Eugene lol
Keiths "I finally fit. This is the first time I've fit in a bathtub since I was a baby." sounds like he reached the peaceful peak of a long spiritual journey. He finally fits.

It's terrifying for farenheit, too. A severe polar vortex storm in the USA makes the windchill between -5 and -25 °F. That can shut down entire states. so -220°F is wild.
Was the hair transplant the only thing he did? As a woman with scarring alopecia (basically hair loss that most likely won’t grow back) I’m devastated and really looking for options that actually work.
no one talks about how brave the guys are. although they were scared they still saw everything through, specifically the cryo. they've got way more guts than we give them credit for.
lauralanthalasa7 you're pretty blind if you think those are all things people would be confident doing, or even go through with without chickening out. i feel sorry for "you people" that can't recognise that bravery isn't only for huge, earth-shattering, life-changing things it's for the scary little things that we force ourselves to overcome, and so much more too.
For everyone asking where Eugene is He did NOT let the try guys he has just taken a break as he wants to expand his acting career and other opportunities, they said this on the trypod :) This is a copied message by someone but in case you did not see that message, here it is!
@@tintintintoretto I'm afraid of this too. He'll be missed but I think we can all agree that we'd love to see him keep advancing in his goals and career.
It could be fun for them to bring on another member though. Someone from the current crew maybe a woman or someone else with different background that can bring new ideas and experiences
I appreciate Zack’s honesty when it comes to these things. I deal with chronic pain and have tried many things and I feel like people aren’t fully honest about how much alternative medicines or therapies help. Also it’s different for everyone so it’s possible one thing that’s helps me wouldn’t necessarily help someone else. Random thoughts lol
-140 Celsius for all of us using the metric system -----I edited my comment, initially it said "normal people" but I felt like that was unfair. Where we are born and what system we are used to is not up to us and doesn't define us, so I took out "normal people". I would also like to apologize for that. It exfoliates dead skin, cleans it and improves blood circulation. In addition, this is all sacred and spiritual in our folklore, sadly the spas around the world don't respect sauna's roots.
this video could just be renamed to tryguys try being finnish
I am from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there are lots of Finnish people, they’ve shown us that tradition and it’s an everyday thing up here now!SISU!!
Can I ask how the sticks exfoliate the body? They seem rather impractical and as if they would only hit certian areas. I hope this doesn't sound ignorant as I'm a big fan of traditional and natural medicines and remedies.
@@kirstywright5228 I guess it has the same logic as those scale scraper things they use to exfoliate fish? I’m not sure
Kara and Nate on RUclips have a video where they visited a traditional sauna in Finnish Lapland, it’s really cool!! They showed the culture in a very real way :)
Ned: SLAP MY CHEST!!!!

Lmao love these guys
Their contrast in personalities is so funny 🤣🤣🤣
my favorite part of the video
I know I saw that and thought of kittens. What have we done to masculinity. Like even a moderate amount would be good.
"There's all these things that are hard in life, but at the end of the day you're a slimy little bag of meat, and the fact that you're able to do anything is amazing." - Keith Habersberger 2021
I love how they’ve increased their fact checking after their video on cold water with the dodgy guy who doesn’t have science on his side. That is growth
which video?
Agreed
@@hi-nq5mm "try guys extreme ice challenge" or something
@@hi-nq5mm they removed him from the video
That was the video, but they actually edited and re-upload it, so he isn't in it anymore. I think it was Ben Greenfield but I can't swear to that.
Ned comparing baths to drugs is the most Ned thing I’ve ever heard.
It really, really is.
Should have kept Ned locked in there.
As a librarian, I really appreciate the beginning about thinking critically about information!
I loved it too! So much false information out there you need to be specific when doing research and this gave good tips!

The "I wanna die a married man" aged so badly
absolute love and appreciation for zach, for making this series for people who live with chronic pain. an icon, a legend, a man who dressed up as a clitoris, mr korndiddy himself, zach kornfeld
don't forget hot ankles
His courage gives me courage
It’s a very good series for those with no barriers to access to these treatments for sure. Congrats to you all!
I can’t be the only one thinking about how MASSIVE that tub must be to make Keith look like a little toy floating in it…
I haven't seen that part of the video yet but I cant imagine zach being in it if he looks like that
They vary in size, but the typical tank is 8′ long and 4.5′ wide and have only about 12 inches of water in them!
@@comegetmyxlove ONLY 12?!
@@j0sh_u_a892 It looks deep but it's not!
The look on zach’s face when he’s checking to see if he feels pain is very relatable.
"I'm putting my wedding ring back on because if I die today I'll die a married man" followed by "not me, Becky you're on your own" sums up their two marriages perfectly lol.
just me or does Zachs' hair look absolutely PHENOMENAL
I was thinking the same, it looks great
That's the growth of Cryogenic fear 😂 his skin couldn't be the insulation, so his hair came for the job 🤣🤣
He had a hair treatment done
It’s from the hair transplant
"I don't do drugs, but I do do baths." -Ned SOMEONE PLEASE GIF THIS. It's too good. Especially for drug-free bath lovers like me.

I applaud your pun.

Ngl, seeing Zach say he couldn't feel any pain was the most wholesome thing. So happy that he's making these these of vids to inform people
As someone who uses Celcius, I literally freaked out looking at the title.
It's terrifying for farenheit, too. A severe polar vortex storm in the USA makes the windchill between -5 and -25 °F. That can shut down entire states. so -220°F is wild.
Its still something like -160c, im scared
it would help if they did actually say what it is in Celsius, since you know, most of the world uses Celsius.
It is -140° C.
Are we just ignoring the fact that Zachs hair looks great????
Right?! I watched a bit of an older video the other day and he looks so different now! In a good way too like it's insane how good his hair looks.
Was the hair transplant the only thing he did? As a woman with scarring alopecia (basically hair loss that most likely won’t grow back) I’m devastated and really looking for options that actually work.
“It’s feels really good”
Zach: AHHHHHHHHHH
“It’s actually a pain reducer”
Keith: AHHHHHHHHHHHH
The guy forgot to add “wallet” when he said that it depends on your schedule because these are safe to do daily....um that would expensive af
They're located in West Hollywood... he definitely didn't forget. That was completely intentional.

HAHA this
My favourite part🤭
This is why everyone thought they were a couple
no one talks about how brave the guys are. although they were scared they still saw everything through, specifically the cryo. they've got way more guts than we give them credit for.
Brave for taking a bath? The bar is so low for some of you people.
lauralanthalasa7 ah yes, -220 degrees. perfectly normal bath temperature.
@@imaansayed8147 have you never been cold before? Nothing brave about it
lauralanthalasa7 you're pretty blind if you think those are all things people would be confident doing, or even go through with without chickening out. i feel sorry for "you people" that can't recognise that bravery isn't only for huge, earth-shattering, life-changing things it's for the scary little things that we force ourselves to overcome, and so much more too.
@@imaansayed8147 very inspirational
As someone who’s also gone through various manifestations of chronic pain, I find Zach so impressive and inspirational. Hope you find relief soon!

He will probably be the first one to leave... and it's probably going to be sooner rather than later.
I miss him 😟
@@tintintintoretto I'm afraid of this too. He'll be missed but I think we can all agree that we'd love to see him keep advancing in his goals and career.
It could be fun for them to bring on another member though. Someone from the current crew maybe a woman or someone else with different background that can bring new ideas and experiences
I hope not… I hope he can do both even if it’s just for a few videos, but u would be happy if he were to leave to strive in other ways as well
I appreciate Zack’s honesty when it comes to these things.

It's so easy to belittle another, especially in a day and age where a single comment is made in .3 seconds. I shouldn't have phrased it that way. That's not the kind of person I want to be and I'm sorry I did that
