I've always used Nori seaweed 2 sheets a day per Dr Gregers recommendation but now you've opened some window for me to try out other sea veggies I didn't even know exist lol thank you!

I love seaweed salad but the packaging of the products sold as my local Japanese market reveal high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients. To make matters worse sea vegetables are often contaminated by pollutants and heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, and lead.

The easiest way I have found to get a high quality source of iodine (along with dozens of other vitamins and minerals) is by using Maine Coast Sea Vegetables' organic Triple Blend Flakes. One teaspoon gives you 170 mcg (113% RDI) of iodine. You can buy shaker size, 8 oz., or one pound bags - which will easily last a year.

My recent labs showed undetected Iodine. My plant based doctor suggested liquid drops, the dose is 1 drop a day in my water. Cheap and easy.

I've been taking 150 mcg of iodine daily for quite a while. All thyroid markers fine except free thyroxine T4 which is slightly elevated. Should I stop iodine supplement for a while and re-test?

The only problem with potatoes is there is no way of knowing how much iodine they have, if any, because of soil depletion.
