Frohe Neue Jahr Jael🍀The first thing I noticed was your new hairstyle, those braids looks beautiful, Here in Germany school kids don’t wear uniforms, they don’t also pay any school fees, school books are mostly free but exercise books and pens and pencil’s parents have to buy, what I really like about schools here is all children must go to school, even for the family’s with less income, the government assistance is always there to help, and they have a system that allows them to know how many kids are supposed to attend school every year, you can’t just decide to keep your child at home, they will just knock on your door and want to know what’s going on.

Wow! That's a good strategy to keep children in school. You should see how stressed parents are, here because of the hefty fees and other school requirements.

Your hair looks beautiful. Me too, I don't like sitting for too long to do the long braids. Although I like them alot.
The Nyònyòn looks yummy. I'm definitely going to try it. One of my goals this year is to learn new things about other Africa countries. Especially, their recipes and cultural heritage.

@@jaelofthevillage tell me about it. I learned about the different countries of Africa ( I knew the names, but had no idea of where in Africa they are located) thru RUclips, the infrastructure, the people and the food. Here in the west time pass they only show on tv the jungles and the poorest parts making us think Africa is not developed. I have been to Nigeria and so my next trip is Ghana then Kenya. I enjoy learning about my forefathers land.

Good luck to Lexi with her studies. We also open schools this week in South Africa. Both public and private schools wear uniforms and each school has their own individual uniform and crest/logo.
We get our text books and exercise books for free at government schools but private schools you pretty much buy everything yourself.
Majority of people in SA attend public school, only minority are in private schools and private schools are also not all same but we all pretty much have same school holidays…first term starts mid Jan for all schools and we have short Easter break, mid year break and long Christmas break from mid Dec.
Our primary and secondary education at government schools is free; this is constitutional. However schools are allowed and they do make well off and middle class working parents pay for their children’s education; only the most indigent(on government social grants which are monthly social payments for unemployed families) is fully free

You can add a handful of drumstick leaves to the butter, it will make the ghee aromatic and tasty. That's how my mother did. Once the butter turns into ghee, the drumstick leaves will stay at the bottom. You can mix that with rice or have it with bread/ chapati.

I loooove the hairstyle and the dress. Me and you are the same sis, as much as i like long thin braids I don't have the patience for them so I've just been cutting my hair. I also haven't taken down the Christmas decor as I've been busy. I'll probably do it tomorrow because I don't have anything planned except maybe some thrifting. In SA we wear uniform, private and public and you pay school fees. The Jones Family Channel recently did a video about private school their kids are going to in SA that you can check out. From what I remember (I went to a public primary school and semi-private high school), textbooks and exercise books are provided by the school and you just buy your own stationary. When it comes to a private school it really depends on the school. Schools generally open mid January and we also start the academic year in Jan. All the best to Lexi at school.

Public/government Schools (primary, secondary & tertiary)are free in South Africa for those who can’t afford ie the poorest of society and for those on government social grants. But yes you pay at government schools if you have working parents. If your working parents not on government social grants can’t pay, then they have to submit proof to the government school (salary slips& bank statements)that they can’t afford school fees. Tertiary is sort of free for the poorest (or those on social grants)if they make the academic grade, government pays for their varsity education through national funding programme called NSFAS

Hi jael, miss ur videos always .your hair has made you look a sweet sixteen and your dress has complemented the hair well for a very nice look. Big up lady! Besides, am Ugandan and here in Uganda school starts Feb unlike you people in Kenya, however, the hair of pupils and students here is kept short, that's like one inch or two all to at least make learners feel and look uniform on top of their won school uniform.scholastic material is provided by parents in middle schools unlike in first world schools where it is provided at school. By d way these first world schools provide almost everything apart from uniform.tuition is paid in lump sum and All is left for school as the parent's duty remains to drop, pick and check on the child according to the school calendar. All in all, your content is my inspiration dear.blessings plz.❤

I don’t make ghee because I don’t own a cow yet lol! But I will. 😊😊As for the Nyoyo ( I hope I got the spelling correct), we don’t have it in Zambia though I make something similar, using my grandma’s recipe from Zimbabwe as she was Zimbabwean. It’s just to cook mixed dry maize, beans and groundnuts (all seeds, not ground). I add a bit of salt and love this meal. It’s called Mashajyari.🙃 I look forward to trying out “Nyoyo”…. Thanks ❤

I attended elementary school in Jamaica and we wore uniforms, high school and junior college in England we wore uniforms. In the universities back then they wanted all students to dress neatly. Living and raising kids here in the USA my kids wore uniforms to the Catholic school. Most private schools require uniforms. Government schools no uniforms required. Your hair is very beautiful.

    Yes it's strictly school uniform.
Government run school. (State schools receive funding through their local authority or directly from the government. The most common ones are: community schools, which are sometimes called local authority maintained schools. )
    The school supplies all books.
Parents buy all uniform, swimming gear, PE gear.

Thank you. While young, they need a lot of care and maintenance. Weeds kill them. So you need to keep weeding until they mature, then you can leave them alone

There are no school fees in the USA (public system) unless students are involved in certain sports or specialized classes for simple supplies . Private schools require tuition. I am a high school coordinator.

Happy new year, Jael✨! I was also eating a lot of Githeri in the 1st week of January (until my kids complained😅). Thanks for removing the kitovu of the tomato carefully. In her githeri/nyoyo video, Auntie Christine (@Sixty+life) cut off almost half the tomato, I was about to send a petition to the United Nations!!!!

As a Caribbean I grew up wearing uniforms and I believe it creates a uniformed distinct look. It also minimizes clothing cost on the parents.
