    Unfortunately D.R Hartley (married name Diana (Hartley) Knodi died tragically. She was killed by a "tame" lion while working on the Hollywood epic about professional animal catchers, Hatari. On November 1, 1960, Diana Knodi entered the lion's cage and it sprang on her. It bit her three times, on the chin, throat, and chest, then mauled her to death. White hunter Bill Ryan, who was on the film set nearby with stars John Wayne, Hardy Kruger, Red Buttons, and the actress Capucine, commented, "Diana should never have got into the cage with that lion. She didn't have a chance."
    This is very tragic

    Actually Bennett's question of whether or not Mrs. Hartley (the African Big Game Hunter) could perform her job with equal agility in the United States and Ireland should have gotten a yes. It would be a rather povertous existence, however.

      @robertfiller8634 4 года назад +3

    Arlene Francis (1907 -- 2001) was Armenian American, her birth name is Arline Kazanjian. It took me a number of years to find that out, because she could easily pass for Jewish.

    • @frankstonrat

      Wasn't aware of her Armenian heritage. Quick search revealed she was Jewish on her mother's side. She was enormously important to the success of the show which you'd have to rate as one of the best TV shows of all time, and so simple. Arlene was a unique talent.

      I agree that she looked nervous from the start. Poor woman had never seen the show before, and John contradicted her on three of her first four answers. From then on, she was shell shocked, I think, and tried too hard, as Arlene suggested to John, to come up with the answers of which he'd approve. This was one time he should have jumped in and answered for the contestant, which he frequently did in future shows.
