Noticed John Daly sneaking a puff on his cigarette on the very first episode. This certainly is not the first show! WML went through learning curve to become such a very successful show. Love all the episodes.
They would have had kinescopes up till now, there was no video-tape. So CBS must have destroyed and/or trashed them up til now. See,s like there is room for the possibility that some could exist!
Why is it that only "the eye" gets to be naked in our language? Dorothy never carries anything up 5th avenue in her naked hands, Steve Allen's bread-box is never naked. It's only the eye. Seems rather unfair to me. We should have more nakedity in our lives.
Oh, my: Annie was Sooo beautiful!
Wonderful episode and guests fooled the panel this time ! 🤠

No one claimed this episode to be the first of the series, which debuted on February 2, 1950.
Reading comprehension is fundamental.
7/20/52: Ann Sheridan, mystery guest. [Arlene Francis, Dorothy Kilgallen, Hal Block, Bennett Cerf]
Thanks for this info, Gary. I wish Marcus would put it in the description because as times marches on, your comment gets pushed down some.
The first WML? episode to be preserved, after producer Gil Fates discovered that CBS had erased about 100 of them from the years prior.

He shook block's hand, and nobody else's.
Also, notice how Daly keeps feeling his arm. 2:28
That was a tasteless ritual anyway, Dorothy looking at their hands, which was soon dropped.
The Pump Room.
I forgot about that.
Also need to add she was one of the few celebrities to stump the panel.
Does anyone know that John Daly’s Father In Law was Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court Earl Warren?
Ann was only 37 here, died at 52 from cancer.
Roger Propes - Ann Sheridan was beautiful. How sad that she died so young.
Back then to die of that stopped the neighborhood.
Now everyone just keeps on going, it’s that common.
Let your thoughts work that one out.
So are many of Bennett Cerf's comments. Often borderline inappropriate.
I read he was a judge in the Miss Universe pageant. Hence his ‘strong interest’.
Sexual politics have changed since 1952.
Forgot how hot Ann Sheridan was.
Ok, no explain this one. How can you post July 20 and 27, and not post the previous episodes for the same month?

😊
Hal block was a creep!
Block’s humor and asides are rather anoying

So is your spelling of the word annoying.
That's why he wasn't made a 'permanent' panelist.
As well as Allen.
He was let go because of that in '53.
@@joesausage4639 Allen who?
