Bedlam in the Bird Bath

- Опубликовано: 20 авг 2012
- Trying out the HD video function of my new Canon 1d mk4 and 300mm F2/8 lens when a flock of various birds (8 species) visited the bird bath for a dip.
Filmed in the UK, the species which visit are:
Robin
Nuthatch
Chaffinch
Willow Warbler
Blue Tit (Adult and Juveniles)
Long Tailed Tit
Great Tit
Coal Tit
Part 2 can be found using this link where the Willow Warbler continues and a Dunnock arrives - • Bedlam in the Bird Bat...
Every morning, I put fresh water into my bird baths and put out fresh seed. Then I sit on my deck with a cup of coffee and watch the show. Better than ANY television show there is.
Yess, I agree. I feed the blue jays and small birds on my balcony and they are so amazing to watch. The the squirrels come and chase away the birds eat all the food tho.. but they are fun to watch too XD
Sadly, I had to stop what was one of the joys in my life, feeding and watering the backyard birds, squirrels, possums, raccoons because it led to a a roof rat infestation.
Oh this is exactly my thought !!!!!
Nice ....!!!
Fabulous - so peaceful thank you for not including music or voice!
The music of the bird song itself is just right, isn't it?
Yes! Agreed
Who else got recommended a russian video about a bird bathing, and then decided you wanted more of it?
Yep
OML- I saw the bird bath vid with a russian title and suddenly want to see more birds in bird baths o.o
I
Yep!
Yup
The birds splashing water around as they bathe is so funny. Like kids at the swimming pool.
Ohhh, that is quite funny. Some of the birds are soaking wet.
Gorgeous!
If I dare say, tiny birds are the most beautiful creatures on the planet. Just so vibrant, colorful, silly, cute, vocal and hard-working.
I concur 👏
Yes! They make me so happy ❤️
the most cute and adorable thing in the world are bathing birds.
The blue tits are very small and adorable. I spotted a little baby robin which flew in through the window. I don't know if robins usually behave like that with a house??... although I didnt make any movement being very quiet in the room??
@@hyekang3850 blue tits?
I love birds, and love watching them, for me it's like a little piece of heaven on earth.
Indeed. I live with 4 birds that mostly fly free in my apartment. SO much fun.
I can't imagine how miserable you would have to be to click "dislike" on such content.
I think they just were not wearing their glasses and happened to click the wrong icon.
Mostly cats I would guess...
@@johnkennedy8682 That's too funny

This video is worthy of looping on a big screen
I just love the contrast between how neat the birds look before they get in the water and this awesome, disheveled look they have when they're all wet xD
I am so happy that there is no music accompanying this. So nice to just hear the birdsong
Watching birds bathe is so much fun and so good for the spirit. Thank you!
Is it really any wonder Christians use a bird as a symbol for the Holy Spirit, eh?
Isn't this the cutest video to watch ! Wish I could kiss these little things
Eeeeeee! Me too. I love these bitty birbies.
Yeah, yeah, you calling it 'kissing' You're a cat! ;-)
favorite content. no fighting or drama. just chrip chrip and bath time
8 species, that's a busy bath, for me it's a blessing for people the ability to watch something like this.
The quality of this video for a 2012 RUclips video is amazing!
Tiny priceless treasures.
Thank you for not adding music just hearing the birds sings is so relaxing .
Some of these little guys are really grinding out the water. And nobody’s fighting.
How sweet is that I have a bird bath in the garden you have to smile sometimes in the winter months I put warm water in and the birds love it then I put cheese and apples and nuts out for them well you have to give them a treat
These little creatures bring so much joy .thanks for posting .
To be honest, it's been a very, very long time since I last enjoyed such a "zen" kind of thing ! Thank you so much for a few minutes of complete enjoyment! I think birds are the most enjoyable creatures to watch. I've saved this so I can turn back to it when a day gets unruly and tries to attack me!
I know right?! I feel so much better after watching this relaxing video, lol....I think I'll save it too!
i just watched this and thought , why do i watch shark attacks and plane crashes, and if its nighttime , bigfoot stories.... why dont i start watching nice things
Watching birds is what keeps my blood pressure down.. :)
Watching 11 April 2020 in the UK Covid-19 lockdown. This is just a precious calming video of these beautiful native birds sharing a bath. So simple yet so heart-warming. I can't stop smiling.
How could someone dislike this beautiful video🙄
"Haters." 😋 (..My guess? Not "Bedlam" enough)
Oh this makes me so happy! This helps relieve the stress and the endless anxiety during the time of crisis.
I love hearing these birds while I am sitting in the middle of winter. Lovely.
I watched the whole video. They're so adorable and peaceful.
Loved the birds!! The colors! I love tit species and finches. All species are interesting, though. Made me smile, and I really needed to smile. Thanks!!

It was good to see so many little birds bathing. I love birds.
Oh my gosh, the messed up hair on their heads is the best thing ever!
Mother Nature is so so beautiful!
So much peace in a single video
What a joy that so many birds feel comfortable enough to use this bath! Peaceful to watch, sad that 200 did not understand
This comment made me laugh. How could people not love seeing these beautiful creatures?
Among the most beautiful things to watch on our planet. ❤❤❤❤
Delightful. It puts a whole new spin on ‘communal bathing’. (C’mon in, the water’s fine😉.) Thanks for posting. 🐨🇦🇺
So peaceful and serene watching them with the water flowing in the background- it’s like a retreat
Loved the advanced cleaning move going across the bath @ 11:03.
I like how the homies wait for the first bird to test if the water's dangerous, then they wanna show up & sloosh.
I remember when i was a child back home.. We had a pan full of water on the windowsill... And at lunch time all of us sitting around the table while these birds.. So cute arrived to have a bath. We used to feed them too. But never ever had a Cage for them or any other birth. They were created with wings.. To fly free. ❤❤❤
That rust colored bird on the left, has one colossal attitude
Do you think they're friends totempole?
Do you mean the robin or chaffinch?
This is why I have a bird bath in my backyard......I love to watch the birds in it ........ so cute !!!!-
LOVELY ON THE DAY AFTER MY NAN PASSED - SOMETHING NICE, THANK U
Why is there is something so relaxing about being a nature voyeur?. I could watch these birds forever.

nice, no music, no commentary, just nature doing its thing!
What a peaceful oasis you've provided here, for them and for us. Thank you!
its funny how some wait their turn while others just bully others out
I love this type of video showing nature living its life while we go about ours. So nice to have this to watch and enjoy.
So beautiful, never seen so many at one time.
Love to watch this every now and then - good therapy !
I LOVE this bird bath. My one cracked in the cold weather. I am pretty much housebound due to M.E., and can't drive anymore. Getting a heavy replacement is not an option, so I have teracotta and ceramic dishes and bird bowls. 4 of them! I have pigeons, crows, wood pigeons, thrushes, blue tits, smaller birds that I have no clue about, finches, and now a woodpecker. As well as the baby birds now finding their way around. Cost me a fortune in different bird seeds, and dried worms. But they wait for me, twice a day. 2 Robins and a baby Blackbird come and sit by me, whilst I sort their seeds and dried worms out. Makes my day. I love wildlife. I wish children could be taught how amazing they (including insects) are.
Oh don’t worry, even if it doesn’t seem like it there are a lot of kids who love this sort of stuff. Including me! We have four bird feeders, a squirrel feeder with peanuts, and a squirrel feeder with corn. We get all kinds of animals in our backyard, namely dove and rabbit families.
@@JetInAJar That's SO lovely to hear. I was brought up (as many are) to think all insects should be killed if they come anywhere near us, especially bees and spiders. That is so wrong. My family (siblings and their children), and too many friends, still think like this. We must teach the Parents, so they're not terrifying their children. I bet wildlife and insects make their way to your very accommodating garden. 🙂
Sue Nutt,
Wow, your kindness is wonderful, it sounds like you have created a small paradise for them and yourself. How pleasurable!
@@lucymarie4928 Thank you for those lovely words. Xx
Well said. I don't know why we believe wildlife are ours to abuse and kill. With enough of us, hopefully we can keep getting the message out there that the wilidlife on this Planet should be considered as important as we are, and our responsibility to treat kindly.
Somewhere nearby is a tree full of soaking wet birdies...
Don't you mean...birdlam in the birdbath :p
There's nothing sweeter than seeing animals happy in nature - I'll be saving this video to relax me before sleep - thank you!
What a joy to watch these birds take a bath🎅🥳👍🇨🇭
To the 31 people who didn't like these precious little birds - who hurt you?

@@od3398 Not all young people are nature haters.... A ton of lazy old people watch TV 24/7 now. I'm 24, don't own a TV and prefer birds.
Wonderful video. So cute how they really get into taking a bath! And yes, watching the birds is so calming and peaceful. Thank you 💕💕
Video is 7 years old. It's wonderful. It was a 'recommended for you' for me to watch. I'm so glad i did. Lucky you to have sooooo many songbirds in your backyard.
I'm watching this in April 2020 during the Corona Virus pandemic. It's such a soothing way to forget all the tragic news. Thanks for posting this. The birds are delightful and beautiful, and the one with the tangerine breast is a mite aggressive! - Sydney Preston, Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada
I agree, Sydney! I'm thinking about using videos like this one as a chemical disorder counselor. These videos would be perfect to help with drug detoxification. Something calm and soothing, to take the mind off of other things.🙂👍
Cutest bedlam I've ever seen
🌈🤗🥰🛁🐦🚿♥️🦢🚿
Oh wonderful. My first job today when I go in my garden, I will build this for the birds.
It's great how something that weighs no more than 10g can send enough water flying to put a springer spaniel to shame!
So delightful! Each so polite waiting for the others to finish. If only humans were this nice!
I think you missed the part where they try to bite each other so they can take someone else's bathing spot XD
Can’t wait for spring, since been a little boy I’ve always loved the sound of song birds . And it’s all for free.❤️
I'm in Wales and I'm watching the blue tits, robins wagtails and lots of other varieties every day and the birdsong is amazing all throughout the winter. We even have an owl hooting throughout the night, I love it 👍👍👍
My cat watches this on his screen (I have dual monitors with separate views). I have to admit it is so beautiful in full screen (on my screen) that from time to time I've stopped everything to watch a few minutes of it. It's a really beautiful, crystal clear video. Especially the colors. I love it.
Long live the birds! ❤
That's alot of customers at once.
For sure! It must have some very good reviews… probably well rated on Twitter ;)
I love the title, it sounds like a thriller movie.
I get immense pleasure watching those beautiful innocent creatures enjoy themselves.
So many different birds! They must have all heard about it on bird social media.
Maybe Twitter?
I'll get me coat...
😂😂well spoken and beautifully phrased😂😂
I like to think that this is their planet, we just live here.
My favorite bird bath video! Thank you.
What a wonderful way to slack off from work. Snow flurries are flying outside, but this lovely video reminds me that spring will return to NH before too long. I wish we had these birds in our area.
Wonderful film and birdsong soundtrack. Lucky you to have so many visitors to your garden. Thanks for uploading ☺️
Great video loved the variety of birds. Especially the appearance of the great tit (7:53) - quite a robust fellow and the willow warblers - delicate and extra shy! I The robin was a cameo appearance at 2:14! I had to google several of the species from your list but now I can identify on sight! So I have learnt something. It IS relaxing but birds are SO alert I feel sorry for them - you think it would be stressful having to be on guard for every millisecond! I am worried about the impact of climate change on all birds.... they are so specialised. I have a birdbath outside my study in Australia frequented by new holland honeyeaters and the odd blackbird. Will get a video soon and link here. Thanks for the video.
I can't believe I have spent 12min watching birds taking a bath! 😁 Sooo relaxing! 😌
i have a birdbath also in central south carolina usa. love watching the birds take a bath. when the blue jays come & bathe i immediately go fill the bath. they splash all the water out! i watched this whole clip and grinned like a fool the whole time.
@@WellaWally65 they worry if they think it is to deep. when i set mine up i put some rocks in it so they could stand on them. once they figured out that they can stand up in it they were good. it only takes a few of them to get the idea and then the rest of the birds join in. mine is near some trees and shrubs so they also have shelter near by in case a predator swoops by to take a look at them in the bath. hope this helps.
I live in south England. We typically see goldfinches, starlings, and magpies come for a drink and wash. Magpies are sooo messy!
Soooo cute!!!
Best bird bath in the world
CollyerSam thank you for a lovely scene to see on any day. Bliss
Lovely. Reminds me of an open air swimming pool I used to go to as a lad !
This is just adorable. I have never seen so many birds determined to bathe at the same time. Had it been a long hot spell? Thank you for sharing this adorable video with us.💖
Love this, we feed all the wild birds here, we have Magpies, Finches, Honey eaters, crows, and we have a few bird baths as the weather here in Australia is very hot at the moments, plus fires everywhere. I love to watch them such a joy.
So soothing. Use the sound to go to sleep to.
Birds always looking like they're having so much fun bathing.
This is so calming and uplifting to see the birds splashing around. A truly feel good video.❤️🐦🐦🐦❤️❤️
This is so relaxing. And so cute. Guess you have to refill every day. Thanks for not talking and just leave beauty to the eye and soul

Absolutely marvellous. Shows how important bird baths are.
Ha ha! This is great. I live in the high desert and have started feeding birds - I just toss the seed on the ground and keep a bowl with water. THere are very few birds out in on the sage plains because there's nothing to eat or drink! So, the birds - mostly a band of finches, plus two male and three or so female Orioles, two pairs of quail and rabbits - rabbits a kind of bird with long ears that don't fly. The birds are so grateful for the food and water as they're living like refugees and if not for a few people feeding them in my little community, they would all either have to leave or die. But they are so happy around their feeding area. They play and fight and try and get some love. Nice video - thanks!
You people are so kind to feed and water the birds.
@@sammimitsu You should try it if you don't already. It's so much fun to watch the birds interact. When the water bowl gets empty (it's desert here) birds will perch on the bowl edge and look up at the window where I am as though asking 'hey! what's up? How about some water?' : )
@@DagaanGalakticos I love birds, but I've got cats. They would regard a bird bath as bird soup.
@@sammimitsu Ewwwww . . . . bird soup . . . . . not so good.
@@DagaanGalakticos Lol. They're predators. If they catch a bird, and bring it home, I always rescue it and rush it to the London Wildlife people who nurse them and release them in the wild.
I love to watch the creatures in our backyard taking baths in the two large, ceramic bowls
Debbie Baez Do you add just. Water in your 2 ceramic bowls .. I which I could draw birds.
Dario Simone We have wild bunnies, squirrels, raccoon, opossum, the occasional aardvark, egret, owl, osprey, crows, doves and a whole host of smaller birds, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, and brown bears. We can’t put feeders out because it attracts the bears so what I do is throw sunflowers seeds, which they all like, unsalted peanuts in the shell, meal worms, popcorn, wild bird seed. Timothy Hay and carrots for the bunnies! I try to put them in places around the trees and under the bushes. I put the hay and carrots away from the seeds in a safe corner of the yard. I give them fresh clean water everyday, they love it! Find out what type of birds are in your neighborhood and find out what attracts them. We gave a lot of trees and bushes and plants that attract the birds and butterflies.
Could watch these lil darlings all day. Thank you for sharing, just beautiful
