This is why I love “The Amazing World of Gumball” I love how they acknowledged the knockoff in a lighthearted way. I know knockoffs are trash and they could’ve tore the knock off to shreds but they handled it nicely.

I like to theorize that the Watersons doing increasingly more and more dangerous things could be commentary on how the show's writing and humor became more cynical and more satirical / going for more risky, darker jokes with each new season, and that "offing themselves" could be a metaphor for the show getting cancelled / taken off the air.
They not only left out Anais because of the 2 child policy, but also because of the fact that boys are preferred to girls in China. It really is hell on earth.

Gumball's copy being a goat completely misses the point of Gumball's design: he's a talking cat, so naturally he thinks the world should revolve around him. That's why he's so brash, and it doesn't hit the same with a goat. Conversely Darwin's copy being a frog is really clever but also really shallow. Its fundamentally the same design and explains how they could have the same backstory, swimming thing growing legs, but Darwin fits Elmore perfectly as a conceptual anomaly while having the emotional punch of evolving for his family in the first place. His copy being a frog removes that conceptual and emotional depth since growing legs is something frogs naturally do, and makes him really normal for someone from a place like Elmore. You could say Gumball has a tame design for Elmore too, but the absurd situations he gets into from his self destructive behavior makes him fit in regardless, behaviors that Darwin's copy doesn't have.
It kind of makes sense why Chinese knockoffs exist, considering the fact that the Chinese Government banned Cartoon Network and they could only make their own knockoffs to compensate for the original
Yes, Anais not being in the show is a reference to the two child policy. Also, they tend to value boys quite a bit more than girls over there to the degree that they...'cancel' the baby when they find out it's a girl. The translation strongly hints at that.
I remember a Family guy joke that was about death dying and finding out that they were going to be reborn as a Chinese baby, just to come back 2 seconds later and say "girl."

He went back after he got told by a superior death he was going into a nice Chinese family, then 2 seconds later he returned, and it was "girl?" "Girl."
The really sad thing is that Anais is legally the second child while Darwin is the family pet that came along before her arrival. It's just a coincidence that he happens to walk and talk like another child. Having him in the knock off was no big deal at the time it was created because the creator was well aware that he's the companion of an only child. Technically Anais could have gotten a copycat but the creator took advantage of the two child policy to change Darwin's copycat from "family pet" to "adopted son." This was an excuse to portray 2 "official" sons in the knockoff.
Now that I see it, I'm actually quite shocked the creator of the rip-off missed such an opportunity of swapping genders for the second child. Anais could have gotten a male version copycat if the ripoff had kept Darwin's copycat as the family pet.😮 There would have been a knowledgeable little brother for Gumball's copycat if the creator had thought it through.🤔
Bruh I love this episode so much. As someone who really doesn't like people doing things to hurt or copy other people, It's glorious how they fell of the bridge. I love at the end when Gumball says, "Uh, you guys good?" Then the truck explodes and Chi-Chi says "No" And then Gumball says, "Eh, good enough". I mean, all I can think when I watch that scene is, "Well, they deserved it, man. You can't say they didn't. Instead of yelling and turning them into the government, they gave them a lifetime's worth of humiliation and angry exposure. (Wow, I had a LOT to say)

I really loved “Be Your Own You”, it was a fun musical number what with the Watersons trying in vain to have their copycats be more unique. Also liked the plot point with the copycats not having a third child. I’m surprised the show didn’t get banned from China after this, especially with the dig at their ½ child policy. I kinda wonder what an episode that made fun of Teen Titans Go’s episodes dedicated to making fun of critics would be like considering how they dissed Miracle Star. I’m guessing it could involve Gumball and Darwin watching a cartoon and its an episode making fun of the critics with Gumball and Darwin being genuinely confused, then annoyed when the next episode is also dedicated to mocking critics, and then jumping into the show to get the characters to do something that isn’t mocking the critics. This was a fun way to send off the second voices for Gumball and Darwin (Jacob Hopkins and Terrell Ransom, Jr.) the former actually voicing Fushi in the dub of To Your Eternity.
It's kind of a fun way they got sent off. They literally went out in one of the best ways possible by taking their cheap knock off versions with them. Miracle: I'LL SEE YOU IN HELL! Jacob/Gumball: Tell them I'm on my way right after!
about the showering scene in the knockoff, that sort of thing (family members bathing together) isn’t as stigmatized as it is in western cultures. Bathing together like that isn’t that big of a deal in eastern cultures. There’s a lot of movies that show this.
As an American-Asain , I can confirm family members bathing together, even if my most outstanding memory of it is my gramma trying to wash my hair while I was screaming my head off.

So I watched the "Big Eater" episode from Miracle Star a few days after "The Copycats" aired, I have never felt so cringed by any cartoon in a long time The animation, the character designs, and the writing stolen from Gumball, it was extremely terrible
This is one of my favorite Anais episodes! Her intellect and morals are portrayed really well in other episodes, but this one really shows her response to not being included in an amazing way. It really shows how ruthless she can be when she's determined to get her way, and I think the only other really good episode that did that was The Remote (another one of my all-time favorites.)
I remember seeing "The Copycats" a long time ago and I found it to be a very interesting idea where a series makes funny of a rip-off from China. And, I'm not really sure why, but the ending where the copycat family falls off the bridge and their truck exploding was very satisfying to watch. Yes, I know that sounds like a cruel thing for me to say. Great video, by the way! :)
What’s interesting is how Gumball made the character designs of Miracle Star look so much better in the crossover. Like how the mother has this light pale blonde hair instead of a typical brown and how the Frog has cyan skin instead of this neon green. I think they look a lot better aside from the father who goes from looking pretty different from Richard, to looking just like him.
This episode is so American. "Be yourself, be an individual". Preaching it all to a country full of leaders who won't stand for that. They made a beautiful message for people who may never see it due to the firewall.
The song from this episode was BRUTAL. HOLY SHIT. Darwin: “What you are doing is straight up criminal” *shoves bootleg Darwin to the ground* Gumball: “So just try and be original!” *rips off bootleg gumball’s face* Then the song ends with the whole family pushing the rip-off family into their car, saying: “get in your stupid car, and don’t come back! :D” which was then copied by the other family. The family would retain the momentum of the truck for a short amount of time after jumping out, because the energy transferred to them by the truck's movement is maintained. Them landing right back into the truck and immediately having their seatbelts put back on makes absolutely no sense though LMAO
Your explaination is correct IF friction is non-existent. In real life, jumping out of a vehicle will usually slow you down because of friction. And that ramp would have stopped them completely because most of the kinetic energy is lost through friction. If we're talking real life physic, Gumball and his family would have little to no kinetic energy left to actually clear that ramp.
Funny how the episode ended with the voice actor change for Gumball and Darwin. Like... I cannot think of any other cartoon or show who did a voice actor change within the same episode like this. That is hilarious and incredibly original. Also, very funny how they made an even more obvious knock-off of the knock-off's characters.

His copy being a frog removes that conceptual and emotional depth since growing legs is something frogs naturally do, and makes him really normal for someone from a place like Elmore. You could say Gumball has a tame design for Elmore too, but the absurd situations he gets into from his self destructive behavior makes him fit in regardless, behaviors that Darwin's copy doesn't have.

Yes, Anais not being in the show is a reference to the two child policy. Also, they tend to value boys quite a bit more than girls over there to the degree that they...'cancel' the baby when they find out it's a girl. The translation strongly hints at that.
I remember a Family guy joke that was about death dying and finding out that they were going to be reborn as a Chinese baby, just to come back 2 seconds later and say "girl."

The really sad thing is that Anais is legally the second child while Darwin is the family pet that came along before her arrival. It's just a coincidence that he happens to walk and talk like another child. Having him in the knock off was no big deal at the time it was created because the creator was well aware that he's the companion of an only child. Technically Anais could have gotten a copycat but the creator took advantage of the two child policy to change Darwin's copycat from "family pet" to "adopted son." This was an excuse to portray 2 "official" sons in the knockoff.

Now that I see it, I'm actually quite shocked the creator of the rip-off missed such an opportunity of swapping genders for the second child. Bruh I love this episode so much. As someone who really doesn't like people doing things to hurt or copy other people, It's glorious how they fell of the bridge. I love at the end when Gumball says, "Uh, you guys good?" Then the truck explodes and Chi-Chi says "No" And then Gumball says, "Eh, good enough". I mean, all I can think when I watch that scene is, "Well, they deserved it, man. You can't say they didn't. Instead of yelling and turning them into the government, they gave them a lifetime's worth of humiliation and angry exposure. (Wow, I had a LOT to say)

I really loved “Be Your Own You”, it was a fun musical number what with the Watersons trying in vain to have their copycats be more unique. Also liked the plot point with the copycats not having a third child. I’m surprised the show didn’t get banned from China after this, especially with the dig at their ½ child policy.
I kinda wonder what an episode that made fun of Teen Titans Go’s episodes dedicated to making fun of critics would be like considering how they dissed Miracle Star.
I’m guessing it could involve Gumball and Darwin watching a cartoon and its an episode making fun of the critics with Gumball and Darwin being genuinely confused, then annoyed when the next episode is also dedicated to mocking critics, and then jumping into the show to get the characters to do something that isn’t mocking the critics.
This was a fun way to send off the second voices for Gumball and Darwin (Jacob Hopkins and Terrell Ransom, Jr.) the former actually voicing Fushi in the dub of To Your Eternity.

So I watched the "Big Eater" episode from Miracle Star a few days after "The Copycats" aired, I have never felt so cringed by any cartoon in a long time
The animation, the character designs, and the writing stolen from Gumball, it was extremely terrible

This is one of my favorite Anais episodes! Her intellect and morals are portrayed really well in other episodes, but this one really shows her response to not being included in an amazing way. It really shows how ruthless she can be when she's determined to get her way, and I think the only other really good episode that did that was The Remote (another one of my all-time favorites.)

I remember seeing "The Copycats" a long time ago and I found it to be a very interesting idea where a series makes funny of a rip-off from China. And, I'm not really sure why, but the ending where the copycat family falls off the bridge and their truck exploding was very satisfying to watch. Yes, I know that sounds like a cruel thing for me to say. Great video, by the way! :)

What’s interesting is how Gumball made the character designs of Miracle Star look so much better in the crossover. Like how the mother has this light pale blonde hair instead of a typical brown and how the Frog has cyan skin instead of this neon green. I think they look a lot better aside from the father who goes from looking pretty different from Richard, to looking just like him.

When miracle star first aired the 1 child policy was still fully implemented until I think around 2 years later when it was changed to the 2 child policy. I assume that the knock-off Darwin is also a pet so he wasn't counted as an offspring of knock-off Gumball's parents.

This actually wouldn't stump physics at all, because the family is rolling while on the ground.
The family would retain the momentum of the truck for a short amount of time after jumping out, because the energy transferred to them by the truck's movement is maintained.
Because they're rolling and don't immediately lose momentum by making a final landing, it actually makes perfect sense that they're moving at the same speed as the truck.
Them landing right back into the truck and immediately having their seatbelts put back on makes absolutely no sense though LMAO

In real life, jumping out of a vehicle will usually slow you down because of friction. And that ramp would have stopped them completely because most of the kinetic energy is lost through friction.
If we're talking real life physic, Gumball and his family would have little to no kinetic energy left to actually clear that ramp.
