Just installed mine today. Took me an hour. 20 mins of that was finding my tools. Side note: you don't have to remove the nuts on the trans bracket bolts. Just need to back them off enough to slip the covers in. Cali raised also forgot to send me rubber grommets for the other end but 🤷🏻♂️. I'll slide a piece of rubber in there. Great product so far. Now to see if it actually works. It looks like even if they cut the rear pipe of the cat they still can't get it out.
Ok... this is a great video if you have a lift and nice tools. My tacoma has a 3" lift with 33"s so I had some room under there with no Lift. It's doable. The key is follow his order exactly and don't get pissed off when you can't get the security bolts to screw in. Once you get ONE securtiy bolt, you're home free. The key like he says is to KEEP ALL BOLTS LOOSE and tighten each one and rotate until there all tight, not just one at a time. You need gloves, I cut my hand to sh---It, the shield is sharp!
Just install these, Great product. Use the factory bolts, the 'safety' bolts didn't thread right. Pre-spray the factory bolts with penetrating oil while you're waiting for the parts to arrive, Note you may have water trapped in the frame that will drip out when you loosen the crossbars. BTW, Cat theft has been a thing for 15 years.
Tried installing drivers side. Cat shield doesn't allow support bar to sit flush against body so bolts don't go in all the way leaving small gap. Anyone else experience this issue?
Love the channel! I’ve only some basic knowledge about vehicles and already feel more confident in understanding my Tacoma. You’re informative and to the point, even with things that could seemingly be considered common sense, also love the added video effects like the torque wrench display. Def passing your channel on to others to enjoy
If your having trouble tightening the security screws or the other bolts remember to back off all other hardware and tighten everything in small increments. Take your time and they'll start to all tighten evenly. I added torque strip to insure if anything does back off I'll see it easier.
I find your 30 minute estimate for install to be rather funny. I installed the Cali Raised converter shields yesterday and it took me 8 hours AFTER The raised my vehicle. When I purchased my kit I read everything available on the YOTA web site and also on the Cali Raised site. The problem I had is that my 4 Runner is equipped with an XREAS system which had metal hyd lines that run behind the motor crossmember. I had to cut the shields at the motor end in numerous locations. Not being armed with this information made for a very miserable day. However, had I known this much modification(read cutting) was necessary, I still would have purchased this product. This is a great product and well engineered. I was just unhappy about the unknown additional work required. Thanks Paul
@@yotaxpedition Good morning, My apologies. I guess I missed the XREAS note. But I must admit listing that the shields won’t work with XREAS if s a disservice to anyone who knows how to use a hacksaw. I am a gearhead from way back. I am 70 years old and I live in a small village in Belize. There are no auto mechanics here, no auto parts stores, none of the conveniences of the US, and I made it work, so it IS possible, just time consuming. Now that said, I just received my Eibach Stage 2 susp from you guys so that will go on next. Had I installed the susp first the XREAS would have been removed before the shields. Live and learn boys! Thanks for your reply.
We have it listed the same way Cali Raised has it listed. MOST people wouldn't be able/ want to cut them up to make it work. Anything is possible with a welder and cut off wheel but way more people don't know how to use those tools vs the people that can. Glad you got it done though.
I have a 2021 Tacoma 4x4 Automatic with V6 - Will I have to remove the Guards when I get my truck smog next year? I believe they have to read some numbers or code from the side of the Cat Converter?
Do you guys have a shop somewhere between San Diego to Los Angeles ? I got a Tacoma 2024 and would like to have a catalytic converter installed . Toyota won’t install it
Hi, I just installed mine today 4/14/24 the driver side was much harder to install than tha passenger side But I got them on Have you noticed any heating issues?
Hello. Very informative video. Awesome explanation. I have a 2020 Tacoma SR5 4 cylinnder NOT V-6. My cat converter was stolen(cut) a month ago. Locking for it to add security to the one i had replace it (stolen converter). Do you know if your product fit my vehicle specification?. Thanks in advance
You know what sucks! I ordered these a week ago and had to cancel my order because I’m AWESOME and drive a 22 M/T Taco that these Shields are not compatible with A/T Only 👎

Yes because Cat theft definitely didn’t exist from 1980-2007

Thank you for the good installation video. I have just now ordered a set for my 2018 Dual Cab 4x4.
Glad we could help!
I just ordered the cali raised shields for 2023 Tacoma limited
It's a 2Wd with the option of 4wd hope they fit
Did you pick the 2wd or 4wd shields? The 2wd ones will not fit a 4wd Tacoma
@yotaxpedition I ordered the 4wd, and I called them up, and they said it would fit
I'll see when I get them, thanks again
On the tailgate, it has 4x4
@@nickk3085did the new design 4WD for your 2WD?

Hey Paul, we have it listed on our page that these do not work with XREAS models. You made it work but you can see why it's listed that way.
@@yotaxpedition Good morning,

Hey Scott. We are in Pennsylvania and do not have smog here so I am unsure exactly what they do.
Reinstalled the brackets and they touch the converter shield. Is that an issue?
kinda wild that the cali raised shield came with zero instructions, and they dont even have their own video.
Good thing we made videos lol
Do you guys have a shop somewhere between San Diego to Los Angeles ? I got a Tacoma 2024 and would like to have a catalytic converter installed . Toyota won’t install it
Sorry we do not. We are located only in Pennsylvania
Can you put one security bolt on each side instead of both in one spot?
Yeah that should be fine. They're all the same thread
Hi, I just installed mine today 4/14/24 the driver side was much harder to install than tha passenger side

Do they make this shields for stick shift ?
Hi i just received mine today 4/12/24 is there any rattling on the driver's side
I think i got the new version

Unfortunately this only fits the V6 models.
Hi again, I need for passenger side only, because 2 W drive
Hi again, I need for passenger side only, because of 2 W drive
This doesn't void the warranty by the manufacturer, right?
No, you'll be fine with these installed.
Thank you, please assist me where I can get “2017 tacoma catalytic + converter anti theft shield. Some one cut and still my catalytic converter
Bro what about 23 Toyota Corolla?
Is the passenger side any harder to install, since it has that shield on already? And will the passenger side make any rattle noise?
Are you in the states? Every one i've seen the shield is on the driver side cat.
I have a 2021 trd 4x4 Tacoma would these fit perfectly??
Yes they would fit.
Will they fit on 2023 Tacoma limited
Yes they will fit
These “new design” seems made for the 4WD. And the old design is for the 2WD. Wonder if the new design will work for the 2WD?
There is a seperate design for 2WD and 4WD
Wonder if the 4WD newer design will fit on the 2WD? Seems the new design is improved
What is avg price of install. Just do t want to get ripped off
Its shouldn't cost that much to have them installed. At most an hour of labor time. Depends on what shop you go with and what their hourly rate is.
I have a 2023 trd pro Tacoma once I put the shield on I can’t get the cross arm to sit right in order to tighten the bolts all the way
I just ordered this for my 2023 Tacoma TRD PRO. Did you get the cross arm on it with no issues?
I did i was doing it without lifting it at all and struggled a bit but once I put it on the ramps it was a lot easier
Is there a new version for the 4 runner I just got mines like a week ago but i feels like it hits the cat
I'm not 100% sure but I think they updated that as well.
What wheels and tires are y’all running on that taco? 🔥
Those are the Traverse HD wheels from Fifteen52 yotaxpedition.com/products/fifteen52-traverse-hd?variant=43035655471340
Will it work on a base 4cyl sr?
Current fitment is for V6 only

I personally drive a manual 3rd gen 4runner so I know the feeling of being awesome lol.
I just got my installed and I loved it.looking really sexy
Nice!
