I've tried it along ramadhan. It's fantastic! My constipation's gone! I added it as my main menu to my sahoor meal, and it can help me to stay full until like 11hours! With full of energy!
I make it the Swiss way. They call it Bircher Muesli. In an airtight container whisk together: Oats 1 cup, liquid of choice 2 cups (I used 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of plain yogurt), 1 apple grated (I used Gala), 1/2-1 tsp grated fresh ginger, sweetener of choice (I added 2 tsp of honey) Optional: 1 tsp Chia seeds, 5 drops vanilla essence, 1 big pinch cinnamon (goes really well with the apple) Serves 3. Just put the container in the fridge overnight. It’s nothing like porridge. The texture is so creamy and delicious. I added a little more honey for my kid. It tasted like dessert. So easy to adapt to make it gluten free (use organic oats) and vegan (use a plant based milk). Can be warmed up as well for a cold winter meal.
Soaking it with berries and cut up bananas with milk (whatever you prefer) tastes amazing. I have seen people use cocoa powder and vanilla essence to overnight soaked oats. Adding nuts, seeds, I add chia seeds or falx seeds, for the crunch and health benefits as well.
Thank you, Luke foe what you are doing. You are a blessing for all. No doctor's will tell their patient's all this but only, give drugs. God Bless you in all you do.

Hi Luke I tried it this morning. I added almonds ,chia and hemp seeds.. it is so yummy.. I'm glad I tried it..pray exercise eat love and be happy 😊. From Trinidad 🇹🇹west indies
I love overnight oats and have been having it with so many different ways. It feels like having a dessert in the morning with my favourite fruits and nuts. Banana/Strawberry combo , banana/blueberries , mango oats. Add Cacao power and it gives that chocolaty taste as well. One more Indian way is adding nuts and kesar which tastes like a sweet. You can also add grated carrot to make a halwa kind of oats. It is such a flexible recipe you can make it anyway you love to have. Don't forget to add chia seeds/ basil seeds (Sabja seeds). I think I should do a overnight oats recipe too.
Kefir is the best, I leave it out overnight, the oats get a little fermented, I add pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, wild blueberries, all covered with Kefir in a jar overnight, it's delicious ❤
I am a big fan of overnight oats and oats in general! I make it in a mason jar and take it to work. So healthy, easy and super convenient 👍 Thanks for this great video! Already knew some facts about overnight oats but your video taught me more:)

Rolled oats are the same as old fashioned oatmeal. I've been using the old fashioned oatmeal for overnight cold oatmeal. Thank you for putting this information out. I've been doing this for at least 10 years now. It definitely helps to keep me regular. I also tossed in one prune. Without the oatmeal and prune I get constipated even though I eat lots of other fruits and vegetables. I take magnesium supplements for restless leg syndrome and migraines however they can cause loose BM. Overnight cold oats definitely keeps things balanced for me.
My Simple Overnight Oats Recipe. In 1 cup (250 ml) A2 milk I add 1 tsp unsweetened 100% cocoa powder, 1 tsp moringa powder, 1 tbsp honey, 1tsp jaggery for that extra sweetness. To that I add half cup rolled oats and mix everything well and keep it overnight and before consuming it, I would add some healthy chocolate pieces and 1 banana to it and then Enjoy it!
hey luke ! just wanted to ask this thing...v shud soak the oats overnight in fridge? or at room temp? and how much water/milk the oats is being soaked is not important rt?
Thanks for sharing. Overnight oats have been made popular by the Swiss physician Max Bircher-Benner hence the name Birchermüesli. Greetings from Austria
Thanks Luke! Since it’s winter in my country NZ at the moment I prefer a warmed oats so at the moment I cook my rolled oats in a slow cooker. Guess it reduces the resistance starch and I should add alternatives to enhance it.
I used to pour boiled water into the jar/thermos with oats & some seeds like flax, sunflower, pumpkin, poppy seeds, add some salt, some cinnamon, some cocoa powder, some vitamin C in powder if you have, and some citric acid or low pH foods like dried lemon skin or dried sour berries, because low pH helps with phytic acid breakdown. It's in between compromise between cooked and soaking in cold water. It also helps to avoid bacteria poisoning. BTW If you do it in food thermos and pour boiled water and left for more than overnight then it'll start to ferment slightly, so you can have source of probiotic. It's really good stuff.
Previous night ,I soak oats with chia seeds, honey and cow's milk. The next morning I top it with a seasonal fruit. It goes very well with diced Mango.

My bowl - Oats, one banana, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, 2 dates, little drizzle of honey. Best thing I have in the morning. ❤
I do overnight Oats, but I try to raise the protein. I use 1/2 cup of Kodiak Protein Oats, 2/3 cup of Fairlife whole milk and about 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries. Put it in a Tupperware and leave it in the fridge overnight. Almost 20g of protein and about 15g of sugar.
When you soak the seeds and nuts, etc. and then mix with the oatmeal - are you also mixing the liquid that you soaked the nuts and seeds in as well? What is the purpose of soaking them if not using the liquid? Thank you.
Great video. I make overnight oats with freshly made 'milk kefir' (worth looking into if you haven't). I then use lots of berries and nuts. Can't think of anything better for your gut!!
Resistant starch on the oats is available only when you soak them? Is that what he's saying? Or it is better resistant starch when you soak them? Because oats have this starch by default right out of the bag I thought.. I was expecting this was going to be a vid about removing the phytic acid.
Only when you soaked them overnight. If you eat raw oats they can inhibit your body absorption of minerals and can even cause constipation. By soaking then overnight it will get rid of the phytic acids and become resistance starch. Which is prebiotic. Try to buy all nuts raw and eat after soaking them overnight. You may roast them afterwards to make them crunchy again

I was really interested by what you said about eating rice that had been cooled to room temperature being better for our large intestines than hot/freshly cooked rice. The Japanese eat room temperature rice regularly through onigiri (rice balls), which is a common lunch food. I think their lunch obentos are also made with room temperature rice. Can you tell us more about how eating room temperature rice is good for gut health and how to eat room temp rice safely?
