If you ever opened a shared google drive for all these decks and repositories, you would become one of the most cited people in all of these realignment sagas. This is incredible.
Great analysis. I know there's nothing you can do to adjust for the paucity of data on nationally televised Hawaii games, but I think it would have been worth a mention in the video that "one of these is not like the others." Hawaii is unique in that more than half of its games each year -- including the majority of its MWC conference games -- can only be viewed in Hawaii on Spectrum pay-per-view, and can only be viewed by a national audience via the Team1Sports app. Fans who watch these games on Spectrum cable in Hawaii are paying $75 per game (or $450 for a package of seven games) to view them in real time. The number of fans who are doing so is proprietary information, but of course it's far smaller than what it would be if Hawaii fans could watch the games for free, like fans of other MWC schools who don't have to pay to view the conference games their teams are playing in. If Hawaii games were free to watch for fans in the Islands that would build up Hawaii's home viewing audience over time, and probably result in higher ratings for nationally televised Hawaii games of the type your analysis is based on.
Super cool analysis - tons of work already. I would be curious if kickoff times had a role too since the MW often plays later games though I’m not sure if times slots were evenly distributed among members
Not for all Hawaii football home games. Currently, FOX and CBS have first rights, then Spectrum gets the rest. If not mistaken, Spectrum gets a minimum of 6 total games to broadcast. For any shortfall in home broadcasts, Spectrum can broadcast the difference in road MW games as long as that road game hasn't been picked up by CBS/Fox as well.
@@wjsIII MWC is trying to beat them to the punch, UTEP is expected to announce for MWC today and Texas State/ Tarleton State are getting more serious with MWC as well. Since the Texas schools in the AAC already said no to the PAC, I am not really sure what they are going to do. On a similiar note, Sac State has already raised $35 million out of a goal of $50 million in NIL money, so I really think they are shooting for the pac. Question is, will it be good enough for the pac to notice.
The new PAC will be very strong in basketball especially compared to the WCC which is what they wanted for regular season games. Gonzaga is also a great fit regionally for their other sports, they aren't going anywhere, it's just too bad they didn't have a football team!
Based on this analysis, should the Pac-12 have taken a closer look at Wyoming? I get the market doesn't make a lot of sense, but their brand, TV ratings, and fanbase is definitely better than UNLV. I also think Wyoming has really good athletic facilities.
Prediction: PAC decision tree is: Memphis yes, then add Memphis and stand pat or add a football only member(Hawaii/Uconn?). Memphis no, add Texas State and Grand Canyon to offset slide in basketball quality from TXST, in addition to gaining PHX market. Still consider that football only member. Regardless, I think MW needs to get out of the sand and add NMSU. Don’t waste time on Tarleton.
New Mexico will never let NMSU get in. Honestly, im not crazy about UTEP being added this soon. They have time. I'd rather see them go after Texas St & Sam Houston St.. Heck even Missouri St. Try to get into that KC market. Pac-12 wise: They must have really offered Gonzaga a bit to convince them to leave. I.E. revenue distribution, tournament credits. Because it seems weird they would leave the WCC for the Pac-12. But it could also be the school was not crazy about the new additions (Seattle, Grand Canyon). And if so then Stu Jackson may have sealed his fate as commissioner.
I don’t why pac-12 still insists on adding major colleges and universities to their conference. Instead why not add mid-major colleges into their conference like schools from Big Sky or Big West. Make those schools try to be known

Wow! Thanks! You have been missed.
Everytime you post, something new happens. Gonzaga has officially joined the PAC-12 starting in 2026
EDIT: Hello, UTEP to the Mountain West
Thanks for the upload. I can't wait to see the update video. With how quickly things change.
I really appreciate what you do, man. Keep up the good work. 👍
And of course Gonzaga accepts within hours of this video and Utep goes to MW. The pace of all this is wild.
You’re still the best! Keep doing what you do!

Hawai’i’s games are broadcast on Spectrum Sports. They have a multiple year exclusive deal to broadcast all Hawai’i sports at home.

He’s back! Nice!
Curious what you think the pac 12 and MW do now since they both have 7
The PAC needs to add more schools named STATE

Yep, had me concerned too! 😂

Will you be doing anything on potential members to the PAC-12 and MW? Gonzaga joined the PAC-12 and UTEP is looking like they are joining the MW.
Wild that Gonzaga joined the PAC, I have a feeling they might jump to Big 12 sooner rather than later as well.

great Job, Where can I download this?
any chance you plan on doing the same experiement with OSU/WSU so people can get a general idea of the tv strength of the new pac?
After watching this number crunching, I feel like I just did my taxes.
