Every time I see gameplay of MVCI I get so sad. The gameplay is so great, it could have been something, it coulda been a contender...

Watch Max's "What happened? MVCI" video, that pretty well sums up everything that went wrong.
Stoic it's because Marvel and Capcom wanted the newest MvC to be a good starting place for beginners to the series, which was a really good idea, but Marvel also made sure to devote the entire Marvel side of the roster to just characters that appeared in the MCU films or characters that will be involved in the MCU. Therefore, fan favorite characters like Wolverine, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, and even Super Skrull were scrapped which turned a lot of people off. Also it's just kinda weird looking. The graphics in MvC 3 looked way better by comparison because of the comic book-esque design and cel-shading.
Quite frankly, Capcom threw a great opportunity away by not revealing any update to this game while the hype for the Infinity War movie is still hot. They could've really capitalized on that.
That said, I hope I'm not the only one hoping that this game gets resurrected.

Your not the only one. I try to explain this game to my friends every day and they just laugh. I play both this and DBFZ, and enjoy both respectively. DBFZ feels like marvel, MVCInfinite feels like a SFxT on roids.
I have a buddy that I played UMVC3 with a lot, and he won't even touch this game. I'm like you gotta play it and feel it, then give me an answer until then your opinion is irrelevant.
It goes back to "first impression is everything", and right now our society will drop all interest in something if it doesn't capture their attention within 3 seconds.

only thing wrong with SFxT is that your characters health is shared, so you can't play out both your character's health bars. otherwise it's perfect. it has one of the best rosters in FGs.
The only bad thing about SFxT was its DLC that hurt alot of people and the mindblowing amount of it.
And the Gem system that people didn't like but got over quick.
Also the art style isn't something to against but some people didn't like it too much, but got used to it anyways
MVCI tho, on a non-biased level was bad in everything but the feel of the gameplay, which still had a few bad stuff with it as ofc it's not perfect, but that was the only good thing about it. And it's good online connectivity

It doesn't explain why Street Fighter 5 was such a flop at launch... or Tekken X Street Fighter.... or Resident Evil 6... Puzzle Fighter... Dead Rising 4... Umbrella Corps... Devil May Cry: Devil May Cry... That come I can't remember... Bionic Commando... It's almost like for the past 10 years, at least until recently, Capcom doesn't understand who buys their games, how to sell to them, or what they want out of Capcom.
....At least that is the perspective of someone who just wants another Mega Man Legends game. Please... he has been on the moon for so long...

This game just hurts my soul. It's gameplay is great but it's art style, roster, and arcade mode are just so lackluster compared to previous games.
StaticShock42 which arcade mode ending are you talking about because those suck a lot in Ultimate there like tone down versions of the third one but yeah your right about arcade mode.

Fate862 Tekken 7 being the most lazy on launch compared to SFV and MVCI? Yeah street fighter takes the cake, Tekken actually had a wide range of characters with some single player stuff (Treasure Mode) it even had a story mode at launch and that games story is better than MVCI and SFV’s story mode. Plus the graphics look great and the music is alright with a few hallmark soundtracks (Mishima Building) and the gameplay is great with a great customization system. I’d say there was a lot more heart and work put into Tekken 7 than the other two games.

Redownloaded MVCI a couple of weeks ago and this game is easily one of my favorite fighting games since SF4. It's still the only game where I have fun in training mode anytime I go back in because I always find more combos and setups that I never thought of before. I hope they can revive the game with a second season or Ultimate version.
Tbh, even though I have gripes about this game that has been been beaten down like a dead horse, this game is seriously fun.

Carol Danvers was the original Ms Marvel, then she became Binary, the Ms Marvel again, then Warbird, then Ms Marvel again, then she finally became captain marvel.
Of course, the Captain Marvel title has been shared around a lot. First is Marr-Vell, then Monica Rambeau, then Genis Vell, then Phyla Vell (those three more or less simultaneously), then Noh-Varr.

As I recall, MvC2 didn't really have endings ether! It had a credit roll with everyone having a party on Ruby Heart's Ship and throwing what's left of Abyss off the side of the ship...That was it.
I used to wreck with thanos and gamora, then one day i realized it was weeks since I played the game. Good times
i love how when doing the final KO on Ultron Omega, Sigma hit the big Sigma head, while Thanos hit Ultron up top. Now that's teamwork!
Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers and was the original Ms. Marvel/Warbird.
Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan and is an Inhuman that got her powers after a Terrigen Bomb hit her neighborhood after she left a party she snuck out for. She is a fan favorite (myself included and I'm sad that she wasn't gonna be part of Season 2 since Capcom gave up on it).
Also, sad that this game didn't get more support than it did.
I hope this isn't the last Marvel vs Capcom.
Probably as long as the license is valuable to Disney because they aren't going to be interested in a game about the comic book characters. Pushing the MCU is where the (massive amount of) money is at.

But Disney didn't ruin this game, Capcom did. They rushed the development of the game, they flipped the assets of MVC3. Capcom is too blame for making a product that Disney couldn't sell.
No it was Disney/marvel who ruined the game. the main problem with it was the character roster, and disney had a lot of say in this department. We won't have this problem anymore on a newer game, since they bought Fox, however. Hopefully they'll finally give us back X-men, and Fantasic Four villains.
One thing I don't understand is why didn't they give us Adam Warlock, I mean the guy is pretty much THE authority when it comes to Infinity Gems.

Plus ultron omega also shares alot of dark gundam abilities. Like summoning minions, corrupting peoples minds, and regeneration.
It's a sad day when players are finding themselves thinking, "Hey, remember Arcade Mode endings?" or "Hey, whatever happened to Arcade Mode?"

Everytime I look at Ultron Omega, I can't help but think of Dark Gundam.
Had quit this game for five months, but I got back into it recently. I've never been happier to see new content for it.
Max's love of the game inspired me to pick it up over the weekend. Still feels really rough (though better than at launch), but the gameplay is fairly strong.
Max I love watching you play MVCI! Regardless of what shortcomings the game may have, and I'm not naive enough to admit that there are a few, MVC has always and will always be one of my favorite fighting games! If the powers that be decide to breathe new life into this game or the franchise you know I'll be there, and I can't wait to see you play more MVCI! 👍🏽

Carol Danvers is currently Captain Marvel. She was the first Ms Marvel, though since then they've had three other characters portray her, including the villainous Moonstone as a part of Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers after he managed to have himself replace Tony Stark as the Director of SHIELD (which he renamed HAMMER after doing so).

It goes Captain Mar-Vell, who was an alien Kree soldier. He ended up passing his power to Carol Danvers who became the first Mrs Marvel and later changed her name to Captain Marvel. Then there's an Inhuman( who are basically Xmen with alien genes instead of the X gene) called Kahmela Kahn whose the new mrs marvel and is amazing.
This game was super fun to play. The story mode I could go either way on. But the art assets are just terrible.

Ms and Captain Marvel are the same. Captain Marvel was original called Ms. Marvel back in the day along with the Kree alien that mixed with her dna was called Marh Vel (Might of spelled it wrong), she was also called Binary in the 90’s and was a bad guy, and in the late 90s to early 2000, they separated Ms. Marvel from Rogue’s mind (I don’t want to fully explain it) and Marh Vel died from Cancer (don’t ask why).

I would buy a DLC pack in this game where they release a playable version of Ultron-Sigma and two more Capcom characters. They could make the character select screen look even at that point by moving utron and sigma in their own row and then having Ultron-Sigma in the row just above or below them.

Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) are the same person. The other Ms. Marvel was given that name when Carol gained the powers of the former Captain Marvel.

Carol Danvers started as Ms Marvel, then after Mar Vell died she became Captain Marvel. Kamala was a huge Carol Danvers fangirl so when she got powers she took the name, Ms Marvel.

I wonder how Capcom planned to keep this game afloat along with SFV. With BOTH games supposedly having a long line of updates the sheer workload seems insane.
I fucking played this shit a couple days ago and I can't remember what the final boss looks like, I keep picturing abyss.

That disappoints me so much, just to see what happens to characters after the story provides more incentive to at least try every character.
