I picked one for $99 CAD and the screen is good along with basic performance for web browsing and RUclips. This is what most people use their tablet and it's good enough for daily basic use.
Hi, I might have missed it, but you didn't mention the USB-C power jack, that this one comes with, and I realize that it's a small thing, but it's a definite upgrade from the last one. 2 drawbacks for me (over the previous versions) is the touch sensitivity on the screen isn't consistently smooth if you're using a stylus (I use a mesh tip type, that works amazingly on all of my other tablets, including my iPad mini 5 and Samsung Galaxy tablets, so I know it's not the stylus) and even finger wise, occasionally (especially in the corners and around the edges) you have to press a button a few times to activate it. The next issue is, I have the, "Double tap the screen to wake" setting on (which is a convenient way to keep the power button from eventually crapping out, as I use the double tap to wake, and a screen off button app, + a shutdown app, so the power button only gets pressed to start the tablet, which you have to hold for like 10 seconds, before it starts up) and a case with magnets along the side to keep the cover closed, which I use on all of my Lenovo Tab M8 (of which I now have 7, don't ask* :) and the problem is that when I carefully pick it up and open the cover, there's a 70/30 chance that for some unknown reason, not only is the screen on, but an app has been activated. There is another thing you can set called, "Lift to wake", but I don't have that switched on, so that can't be the issue, unless it's a malfunctioning design flaw (as, oddly enough, I have 2 older Tab M8's that have 16GB of internal storage, as opposed to the usual 32GB variant, and they both suffer from the exact same issue, where as my other 4 Tab M8's, with the 32GB internal storage, don't seem to have this problem). *I keep finding them in amazing shape, at my local Value Village's, for like, $15, and can't help buying them, as they're GREAT tablets for doing lots of stuff with (as I'm not a high end gamer, so the 2GB of RAM isn't an issue, and also of note, I have a Device Info app installed on this 2022 version, and for Memory, I get a 2796MB reading, which is odd, because my other Tab M8's with 2GB of RAM, all say something like, 1987MB using the same app) and they have FAR less bloatware then their Samsung Galaxy counterparts and work better >^..^
I don't understand why they don't have better front facing cameras on tablets. If one of the main things people do with it is video call, I don't need the better camera to be on the rear of the device. I need it pointing at my face. How have no tech companies done this yet?
This M8 3rd Gen tablet was available outside North America for more than 6 months before it came here. It has Android 11 and will stay on Android 11, according to Lenovo. Looking at Lenovo's Android Upgrade Matrix, we see that no OS upgrade is planned and that overall support will end on March 31, 2024.
@@TheNostalgicFuture plus micro SD to expand memory and USB-C. I bought 2 of them for my daughter's and they love them. Best bang for the buck under $100.
There's de-sync on the audio and the frame rates kinda dropped in the middle of video. Looks like you edited your video with the same device you reviewed lmao
Thanks! Went to Best Buy here in Vancouver yesterday and asked about how fast their tablets were and was given a very misleading description about their tablets in general. I wouldn't expect gaming performance on this product, but it's nice to know it isn't actually terrible, just a step above terrible, on this rather inexpensive device. Saves me some time!
I got a previous gen one for my mother in law an she loves it but since now all my things are USB-C I was hesitant to get one for me so I was waiting for an upgraded version with it but this confirmed it and now that it's pretty much the same but with USB-C I'm definitely getting one
Thanks for your review. We certainly got that this unit is far SUBSTANDARD. I am a full blown MAC/APPLE guy and have a wonderful IPAD which is like a Lexus or Mercedes. BUT - I am also a very involved Ham Radio Operator. Most Ham Radio APPS are for Android only. That's why I'm over here looking. Sure, I could spring for another PC, but my friends mostly hate Windows 11 and I've been using an OLD Android phone called an HTC, which is very "IFy" at times. But what specific recommendations would you give for a step up without lots of $$$? The 10 inch Lenovo seems much better at $189 at Best Buy. What about it?
Would this be alright to use for a drone? Was planning to get it for my father since he thinks the iPad mini is too big. These felt like a good size but wasn’t sure if it’ll run dji fly app well
Is this better than the tab m7? I am planning to get a simple, small tablet that fits my bag. I only use it for netflix and hbo go and maybe disney+. Is m7 better or the m8? Thank you
In your opinion considering the lower specs of the m8 would the 3gb version that runs Android 11 be noticeably better than the 2gb that runs Android 11 Go? I'm not familiar with Go but read it's OS uses less ram. Is Android Go decent or problematic? Thanks
@@FishBeeProductions crazy how my 150 euro Xiaomi phone has better resolution thet this. No excuse for anything less than full hd these days. Hard to find an 8 inch tablet with a good screen. Basically the only option is the iPad mini which is insanely expensive. The search continues

I have a amazing 11 inch ipad pro. But I mostly use it like a mini tv. What I've really been wanting was a smaller tablet I can hold one handed. For one main purpose... Looking at tiktok. And so because of that. I don't want to spend a lot of money. I know the iPad mini is a amazing small tablet that I can hold one handed. But it's also expensive for just looking at TikTok. Digging through stuff I found an old Samsung Galaxy tab a6. It's one handed form factor is great! And the screen looks really good too! It's just a shame that's it's so weak and laggy/glitchy. If anyone out there that owns this tab. How does screen look? Would be good enough for what I want? Just looking at tiktok
F.y.i, I also had the galaxy a7 lite. And while I could hold it one handed. And while it was efficient enough for light use. It's screen wasnt even as good as the much older galaxy tab a6
I just ordered the m10 plus and I was wondering if I should have gotten the m8 instead. Now I have no regrets

Yeah they released a 3gb version. It’s pretty confusing finding information about the various models though.

Yeah not sure why
Since I don't intend to use this for gaming, it seems like a good choice for that price.
I only got mine just for RUclips to be perfectly honest 😊

For $69 this is a good value at WalMart. Comes with 3GB RAM.
I was just about to say the same thing. Like $70 for a solid metal and glass tablet with full blown android instead of android go is literally fire

4th gen is coming soon from what I've seen online
Can you please tell me how the screen and performance compares to the Galaxy Tab A 8.4”? There seems to be no decent 8” tablets nowadays.
Would this give a stable connection for Zoom calls?
I bought this for my car! It's awesome!
Which is better ? Current regular onn 8 or current m8 (4th gen ) ?
I still remember the 1st gen M8 with the Google stand

which Lenovo is $189? if its the M10 Plus 3rd Gen yes that one is a better option
