I really want the shark one, but it doesn’t make sense for my budget right now as a student. I ended up buying the ion one, but there are a few things I don’t like, such as how hot it gets, and the fact that it doesn’t really have the cool shot while in the curling mode. I also have really fine and thin hair so I’m trying to figure out how to keep them in as long as possible
Hey Amanda! Do you use hairspray or a texture spray of any kind after styling with the Ion? I find if I curl a section, spray it and then continue doing that for each section, that my curls stay the best like that. I also would recommend a really good heat protectant because I agree - the Ion can get very hot! Definitely has its pros and cons but I hope you're able to find a way to make it work for you until you decide you're ready to upgrade🤞🏼

I really liked how my hair looked when I styled it last time with the ion. I just used a bit of spray on each strand both before and after I curled them. I was thinking of trying Paul Mitchell hot off the press as well!

My friend has the Dyson and I used it. I don't remember it being that hot. I got the ion and it feels so hot to me even on the lowest heat and fan. Does the shark get as hot as the ion on the lowest heat?
The shark is a little hotter than the Dyson but the ion is the hottest of all and you can burn yourself so you have to use the gloves but you don’t need gloves and won’t burn yourself with the shark. I imagine the smoke she’s talking about is burning hair maybe? I chose the Dyson because the whole point of using an air styling tool rather than my curling wands is to protect my hair but it just depends on what your preference is and why you’re getting the tools.
I did buy the sally one but I return it didn’t like it felt my curler did the same job lol and still the curls fall out 3 hours later with both of them 😂 … does the curls on the shark one last ?
The shark heat control would not work with the hair wand on. it got to hot and I would have to take the wand off to cool off the and I felt like the shark fried my hair.

They do have the longer barrels for the Ion luxe 4-in-1 now! They are $19.99 at the time of this post.
I like the Flex style curls better imo, even if it doesn't hold longer I like how relaxed they look. Thanks for this review!

My daughter told me to use the holding spray before using the device. I said I was going to try it this way.
