    Would you use these "standards" for a more "mature" adult (67 yrs young)?

    Great video....Is there a video to follow this on what are the speed drills I should be doing, as I did the test and I am strong enough. Thanks

    My problem is the shoulder area. Recent rotator cuff surgery, and have always been weak in upper body. Lower body and core are strong. At 67, I'd like to hit ball farther, but I'm maxed out at ~225 yds. So that's why a course at 6000 yards is what I'm comfortable with.

    Hi Dr, enjoyed the video. I will try the tests this week . I hit the gym twice a week through the winter doing a variety of free weights, cable and body weight exercises so am in reasonable shape for my age. And that's my question, as a 66 year old, do those targets apply? I don't think I will jump that high no matter how much I develop my leg strength! Lol.

    Excellent and very helpful! Do the figures and ratios you mention differ for those in the 65-70 years old range? Thanks Ian

    @mytpi sincere question, why is the core strength test a cable pull? A cable pull would hit mid back and bicep muscles maybe some oblique depending on the motion used, but the original core test via the sit up throw test would be showing more abdominal and probably upper back/shoulder possibly even some chest.

    Will be 55 yrs old next week. My numbers are 28 feet sit up and throw. 21-22 feet chest pass. But vertical leap is only 10 inches. This is with 4kg ball (8.8lbs)

      Ok. You're my age now. 2023. Technique is HUGE! Ever see a guy with 20" biceps and a body of steel barely hit it 200 yrs off the tee? I have and it ain't pretty. Because their swing mechanics SUCK. Ever see a 115 lb. girl hit 260 yd. drives? You think that's strength or power? No! Its tempo,timing,rhythm,flexibility

    Hi, I carried out the test and got some very disappointing numbers. My jump is 17” my sit up and throw was 15 and sit throw 14”. Could you please suggest some exercises? I have kettle bells,dumbbells and rubber workout bands. I’m 49 years old, weight 14 stone and have always had a slow swing speed. Would appreciate your advice. Thanks Adrian

    vertical jump is insignificant if the person has more weight.. a 250 pounds guy who squat 600 pounds might jump 10" while the 150 skinny guy squatting 150 pounds might jump 25"

      @@mlitalie who doesnt know that? the heavier you are the less acceleration you will have, so less speed.

    Hi Dr. Rose, Is the split lunge reps 8 on each side or 4 and 4? Do they alternate legs or do all on one side then rest and do the other?

    • @josephlewis
      @josephlewis 3 года назад

      Great question…I wish he’d answer. There is a huge difference between 16x vs 8x. Listening to him carefully again, my guess 4 each side and alternating. But only my guess….ugh.

    • @vic_0315
      @vic_0315 3 года назад +1

      You alternate legs, left front right back, then right front left back, that counts as 1 rep. So 8 reps would be 8 on each side.

      I'm guessing for the seniors it's somewhere around 14 to 18. If you're 65 + and putting out numbers in that range you're pretty exceptional.

    What are the speed drills?

  • @tmsn123
    @tmsn123 5 лет назад

    Okey! I am 92kg 190cm. I can squat about 405 lbs. Bench press 365lbs. And do 20-25 pull ups. Hit my 2 iron about 220 yards carry, 250 at best with roll. But my longest drives are only 270 yards with roll. I am actually looking for that extra 30 yards to my drives. I measured my swing speed with the irons and it was somewhat the same as the tour players with the irons. But my driver swing speed was 20 km/h behind. I have the strength, but lack speed. So which exersices can I do to increase my driver swing speed? Thanks in advance!

    • @intrinsic9914
      @intrinsic9914 4 года назад +1

      It may not be a power problem but technique issue or equipment. Have you jumped on a launch monitor to see what your launch numbers are for each of your clubs? It is very much unheard of to find someone who has tour level iron CHS but weekend golfer driver CHS.

    • @nicholasdemetriades9154
      @nicholasdemetriades9154 Год назад

      Lose muscle and gain flexibility! Work on technique! Try to hit your irons like Sergio Garcia. Look up Brian Manzalas article on Sergios swing! Added 20 yds to my iron carry distance in about a week of practice!
