O.M.G. I'm 6'6" tall also and for years, I've had a lateral move that makes consistent impact challenging. I'll be watching this video a lot. Thanks so much for posting!!
This is such an eye opener - love these kind of videos. You are true communicators! I'm a true rock'n roller with a strong grip. Have to take this to the range. Thanks for sharing ⛳️
This lesson is so incredibly useful cause it adresses exactly what im struggling with and i never knew what the cause was. My (lefty here) left leg straightens always first in my backswing. Feel like i can tale a lot from this video to apply in my training the next weeks / months. Thank you so much for such awesome content. And very detailed too. Love it!
Shout out to Adrian for sharing this- feels great as an amateur to be relating to a top pro. Although he seems to stripe it when making the changes being asked and us mortals will top and shank it during the lesson !
This was such a solid video/lesson. A lot of this I can actually try to apply and use myself as they are very similar to what an instructor told me during a lesson. Also, it's very cool to see how coachable Adrian is and how willing he was to learn.
A really interesting video. You showed us the full process of explaining his issues and what he needs to do. You also stated that it is a hard journey to unlearn everything that he has learnt. I have a similar fault so this will be very useful.
Data driven validation of what Trevino was talking about all those years ago regarding wrist set - he said he never saw a great wedge players who could touch the clubhead with their trail hand at lead arm parallel. Great video, thanks for sharing.
That was a great watch. It's amazing to watch the process of the diagnosis and then the drills and explanations to make the changes. Loads of information but so clearly explained.
Despite Adrian having a non perfect tour swing its amazing how you can reach a high level with something that is functional - something for the swing purists to chew on. Not to say the changes aren't going to help but just interesting to know you don't have to be perfect to go a long way.
Great video guys, by increasing grip pressure with the wedge he may not "cock" his wrist to much on the backswing/take away. So not have to think about it. JMO
One way I’ve helped others maintain right knee bend is put a headcover on the grip of a club, get low behind them and actually push their knee in gently as they swing. Don’t let them straighten it.
Shit that's me! I've been struggling with a "lasso", hands make a huge shallowing move and I need to time everything. Better get to the range, thank you for the motivation!
Fantastic Video but I think you missed the most important training aid that would have gave Adrian a better visual and that is the the thing that is attached and hanging off his right hip Just watch the movement of this as he moves his hip back incorrectly vs correctly. Ferris wheel vs merry-go round. The other observation is how wide his feet are together. In my teaching to my students or I call my rule of thumb for irons is the closer we get to the green the narrower the stance, turning the lead foot out just a little to help with opening the lead hip without trying to force it and try to restrict how much the trail heel comes off the ground. Knowing the lower body is for power we need more accuracy and softness with shots into the green. I feel the greater the distance the feet are apart the more the lower body will be involved, the driving force of what you teach as loading and exploding. The two drills I use to get the feel and touch into the green is hitting shots with the two feet together drill and placing a wedge underneath the trail heel to feel a restriction of pushing off the trail side but feel a slight rotation of weight to the trail big toe. I greatly appreciate all your instruction and video's on every aspect of this great game. You have been such an inspiration and have taken my knowledge of the game and teaching to a much higher level. Thank you. Looking forward to your next video.
Would be good to check him for a hip impingement. A lot of players with this issue can’t internally rotate without pressure (and eventually pain). This isn’t a small change ..
I need to get in here for a lesson. I’m a +3. I tend to push off my lead leg the most. When ever I load properly I’m missing something. Because I then begin to hit heel shots and pulls.
Thank you so much for this video! I've struggled with the sway for as long as i can remember. For me when i'm at my worst i get no power into the ball with my woods and weak low hook flights. Doesn't matter how much force i try to create results in even worse results. For me, the way i've noticed the "feels" of the sway is that it "feels" like my right hip turns but my left hip/knee doesn't follow, or almost face more towards the target, the left leg just straightens and jerks since i have no room to create turn in the downswing. I've noticed that a motion that makes me feel like the left hip follows the motion of the right and gets me into a position where i feel like the left heel feels like it is more rewersed towards the target, and as i plant it i get so much twist/torque as i generate the downswing has the visuals of more turn. After watching this video i had to look into the hinge you focused on with Adrian and it instantly explained the whole picture for me. The motion of picking the club up outside and hinging for me gets balanced with the left hip feeling like it stays or "counter torque" to balance my motion and get me into a position like you said "helps me shallow". As soon as i did a swing where i was more chilled with the hinge it gave me the feel of my left hip swinging around more allowing me the "reversed plant". Thanks to you guys now i have a solid feel for how better turn feels for me vs sway and also a club centric picture of what motion of the hands/club allows the body a better motion. Thank you guys so much! Lets pray for longer drives! haha
I struggle with this too because it feels like my head comes way off the ball when I turn the way I’m supposed to and I won’t be able to get back to the ball effectively
Is it possible to get a session with you? Curious because I have been to other professionals like this before but the verbiage you use is different/better.
Interestingly….Phil Mickelson, who’s quite handy with a wedge in hand, does a lot of wrist hinging…but for most of us, removing that variable is probably a good idea!
I’m 6,3 and have struggled with swaying for years in my swing, something i’ve worked on with my coach too similar to what the guys recommended for adrian! Quick question, my bad tendency now is to turn a little too much and rotate a bit too flat in the shoulders/pelvis and almost get too shallow/in to out… any advice to keep it on plane and maintain a decent attack angle?
so the guys at AMG use gears on pros and their claim is that they do shift a small bit at the start of the back swing, but re-center quickly - are you saying that's wrong?
Absolutely. I’m a 6’4” golfer with long legs and short torso. Craig Harmon at Oak Hill told me 30 years ago that can be the worst build for golf. Easy to sway and not fully turn. These guys are on to it
@@jeffreycolvin9124 6'5" here and same build. Rotating feels so foreign to me i have a similar swing to Meronk, quite steep and relies a lot on timing so i can have big differences in scores sometimes
Why is a random guy from titleist acting like a minimal hip internal rotation deficit is causing a long iron pull draw from the #89 golfer in the world, then referring to body mechanics from some of the “best” in the world? This dude is literally #89 in the world. His concern is wedge distance control, likely hoping for some information about how his body most efficiently utilizes his own unique flexibility and strength. If he wanted a different swing coach I think he would’ve called someone else. Weird direction you took this. Also, his trunk lean is coupled with rotation. That is how the spine actually works, hence why you cannot left sidebend and left rotate hardly at all. They are coupled movements, so his “excessive lean” for his move off the ball is not significantly lacking in trunk rotation either. Seems like the guy needs an anatomy lesson and a reality check about how many factors are involved in the golf swing
Man. How lucky are we as golfers to have access to content like this. I got onto these guys thru chasing scratch. They’re masters.
This is the best video I've seen from MyTPI, keep up the great content. Woo!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing video. It’s crazy to think pros like this even had trouble turning, yet he plays professionally. Crazy. Big things for 2025 for Meronk!
Give me this video of all the Titleist pros! I would watch every minute of all of them

Exciting great instructions and improvement. Elegance simplicity.
His swing looks so much better and connected. Wow
This is the best from TPI. Ever.
Interesting to watch even the pros receive instruction as if they are starting the game of golf from day one.
great stuff...would love seeing shot tracker during the range session to see how his shot pattern changed.
Nice tip on no sway just turn turn turn, also the set path for the backswing nice....
Learned alot from this thank you 🙏🏽
I think I just realized I've been "rocking and rolling" for years, when I thought I was turning. Mind = Blown...

For distance wedges it is wrong, they're trying to eliminate variables, which amg would probably agree with
