This was a very good (and very underrated) video comparison of two of the leading notetaking apps. I am primarily a OneNote user and only in December 2024 started using Notebooklm, with which i am very very impressed. The one thing I noticed though was that it didn't really allow me to make personal notes as I can do in Onenote (and now I know Notion), So I came to the same conclusion as you in the end, that they have different use cases and that it may be best to use both.
