    The perfect combination of personality and knowledge. RUclips providing a platform for a truck mechanic who otherwise would have been unknown to the world. This guy will have people who don’t care about trucks following the pointer!

      Well said.
      I wouldn't get any work done around this guy. Because I see him holding this pointer everytime he's talking to someone. Especially to make a point in his conversation.

    I feel like the truck at 2:13 has a better suspension setup than my Freightliner Cascadia because the axles are underneath the leaf springs. I don't like the idea of having all the weight being only supported by the u-bolts.

    A good tip to point out
    When replacing springs you need to look for a matched set
    Some springs come with a + or a - painted on them
    That is indicating that they have been matched to each other
    The only time I got bit by that snake
    We changed one side owner didn't want to do both
    He came back later to get the other
    We ended up with a plus and a minus spring
    It caused a lean

    • @ronfullerton3162
      @ronfullerton3162 7 месяцев назад +1

      With the old lead springs, it was really a dumb move not to change springs out as a set. We had a new supposedly mechanic, and he only had the side fixed that had broken leaves. There was a spring shop nearby that rebuilt springs, and they replaced not only a broken leaf, but several that had lost the proper arch. We sat the two springs side by side to show him both needed repaired, and the difference in arch was unbelievable. Nope, he wouldn't have the other spring repaired. And of course, it sat leaned over empty. And the lean got worse when loaded. Good look when you want to meet DOT Enforcers.

    Bendon, what does it mean when you’re in the left lane and the truck pulls to the left? Or being in the right lane and pulling to the right? Tandem axle tractor aligned twice in a row, the second time to confirm the first alignment was correct. Before and after symptoms were the same, it pulled to the right and the front right steer had accelerated wear across the entire tread, in comparison to the left steer which was an identical tire replaced at the same time. There was difficulty per tech to get front right steer in spec. Thanks, love the vids!

  • @eddiepacheco7885

    Hey there bendon. Quick question is it normal for classics to have lean to the drivers side on the front axle? Ive spoken with other classic owners and they’ve all said its normal. Its had it before i had new kingpins and front end work done plus alignment. TIA like the vids on tiktok 👍🏻👍🏻

    I run tri axle dump chassis by PRATT.
    They run mono spring. It's just one spring per axle per side. When they brake they literally SNAP at the axle.
    NEVER DEAD SPIN A LOADED TRIAXLE
    20ft chassis with the axles stretched.
    But man they ride GREAT with 50000 in the box.

    I worked at a truck shop a few years back and saw a truck come in with the cab leaning to one side.. turns out it was the torque arm that was broke on the rear axle to frame. Alot of dirty words later, it was fixed.

    Had a truck go up in flames, burned the entire rear end. caused a lot of damage, bushings, airbags, air lines, harnesses etc.
    My question is, is the frame compromised? Will it ever be as strong as it was?

  • @jeffreykreft5442
    @jeffreykreft5442 2 месяца назад

    This may be a dumb question, but I do not know ok. Do they actually do frame rail replacements? Seems that would cost more than the truck is worth, I mean I can't imagine the amount of labor involved to replace an entire side rail.

      Is the one spring squared with the axle?
      Measure distance between front of springs and rear of springs.
      Can also use a carpenters framing square, ( large on, not the little one)
      The one spring may have been secured to axle with spring not positioned straight.on axle.

    Quick question.
    I drive a 195 Hino, I know it isn't no semi, but It's where I'm at. I've been having issues with my aliment, each time I bring it into the dealership to get it serviced I've asked to get an aliment because it's messed up. They keep telling me no problem, but as soon as I have the truck back, and I drive over 40 I need to have the steering wheel turned at 2 PM.
    It's been going on for a year and in our fleet we have 3 of these hinos, and they all do the same. Is this just a common thing with all 195 hino's? Do they all drive like this? Or is this just another shitty dealership ?
    Anyways, I hope someone can help me 😂
