A japanese friend of mine told me that many people take a picture of something they really like but do not need. There’s no clutter and no debt🎉❤
People talking how she is a princess and so on. What about him? Not working at all in school while spending crazy and extending his college time and loans.
Yup. He’s a beta and she’s clueless.
This couple is a perfect example of why we need home economic classes in school.
Its maths... and the person in the mirror, but maths
Parent's job. They failed them.
We need a government that keeps saying you should have everything for free. Nothing is free.

@@aussiemouth747 Many parents are clueless. In my family money was a taboo and I learned about family assets when my parents died. They neved discussed money with me. The same was with rest of a family. Mz godfather is shouting every time money is discussed. I am learning all from the Internet and financial advisors. My uncle believes spies are everywhere. He got tantrum when I said my salary is average.
You all can judge these people as much as you want. But, just remember they're on here because they asked for help. That's the most responsible thing they have done. Knowing there's a problem and turning to someone they know will help them.
Agree 💯 percent with you. Well said. Very brave to ask for help. Very fortunate to have Gail's help and put theirselves out there and stand in their truth. The possibility of $5000.00 is a motivator too to pay things down.
A lot of times commenters watch this show for 5 minutes, hear the reason why these couples are in financial trouble and judge one or both of them from there. I thought this was a lovely couple. I wonder where they are now?
True, honestly I think they will be okay. They just needed a real reality check and to see everything in black and white. Once they saw the math, they were like...oh snap, we'd better get our stuff together. Also they are learning that somethings are more important than making mega bucks!!
Your so right people like to judge, don’t they?? Specially, RUclips, judgy jundgersons lol
Their are two different people who watch this show based on the comments. One who watches to learn something about budgeting and roots for the families and the second who watches to feel better about themselves. This couple was fine. I hope they are still together with kids
A 21 yr old and a 23 yr old are not "teenagers", they are young adults. If old enough to marry, then old enough to live as adults. Definitely young enough to make real changes. All the best to them!!!!!
You can't really blame dept on their ages when we've seen 40 year Olds make the same choices or worse
I think the show was just enphasizing that they were living like teens as young adults.
“Teens” gets more attention than “young adults”. It’s just clickbait-y.
I think it is because she was 19 when they got married
When my dad was 24 he was married with two kids and was flying multimillion dollar jets for the US Air Force. I was married and teaching high school at 23. Young adults are capable of so much more than we give them credit.
He should have finished school before they got married
At least she understands that she doesn’t know what desperate feels like. I’m the same way. My parents struggled when I was little, but came up when I was in middle school. Anytime I needed help or was stuck in a bad situation, they were there for me. No strings attached. That’s a huge blessing that not everyone has. If you’re fortunate enough to have family like that, NEVER take it for granted.
Yes she has that look of if this gets troublesome, daddy will get me out of this.
So many things I wanna say 😂
1. She’s a fine example of why if my husband & I have a daughter, she will not be daddy’s girl when it comes to wants & money 💰
2. I wanted to go to university but decided not to because debt scared me too much. Now my husband & I have a good amount of money behind us and zero debt, we’ve set up a higher education fund for his son & my sister. Planning for the future. Same will happen for any kids we have together.
I didn’t have my first credit card until I was 29 years old. I never asked my parents for help. I had to budget and stretch every dollar. I had to turn down invitations to events and vacations I couldn’t afford. I wore outdated clothing, couldn’t eat in restaurants and didn’t have a nice car. Best education ever, and a big part of the reason I’ll l be able to retire in a few more years. Credit cards are one of the worst things that can happen to young people.
Restaurants and fancy vacations are severely overrated. Whether you can afford it or not is irrelevant.
Every woman I have known who supported her man at first thinking later he would support her...it has never happened. Dude got help getting through school etc. And then moved on. I am not saying this is the rule...but it is common.
First Wives Club....
Betty Broderick
I feel like those men are still children. They expect their wives to be their mothers and to be babied forever.
I found the opposite. My husband has grown as a person and in his career exponentially since we first met. And I can guarantee he’s not going anywhere. I feel bad for women who pick the opposite and get screwed over.
@@myyt3824😅😅😅😅 I hope your husband ends up mistreating you given how smug you sound. He probably is already cheating on you.
No one can guarantee that their partner "isn't going anywhere." Unless of course you're abusive and controlling and have him tied up all day.

Awe, I saw so much of me in this girl. I was naive and clueless when I married at 21. I too wanted the husband, kids and white picket fence... And thankful with age, maturity and education, that eventually became reality. I'm a now 13 years into my stay at home mom journey with me and my husband's 5 kiddos. I'm thankful that I had my best friend and life partner to go along with me as we grew is not only husband and wife but as parents and as humans.... Looking back I shiver at some of the financial mistakes my husband and I made but I'm grateful for the education that we received along the way.
I just read your comment from two months ago and wanted to say thanks for sharing your story - it's always good to hear a happy story.🎶🐦🎶✌🏼🎶

When I was young I liked fashion and when I looked at fashion magazines, I wanted those fancy clothes. I though that I could afford them and look rich. I had a good job, so why not? But I have come down to earth since then, I realized that the luxury brands were not for me, the prices were way out of my budget and the worst I did was buy a $50 handbag. Now I am perfectly happy shopping at Value Village, I sew my clothes and make my own luxury!
Hey that’s even better when you got a skill like that
Such a beautiful couple. I wish them the best. Smart of them to be real.
This is what happens to kids who never heard NO when they were growing up.
I love how realistic this show is
I wonder, if every couple could have helped like this, in the first year of their marriage, or even better, before they get married, how many divorces would be avoided.
They weren't short money. They were over spending.
Money management should be a REQUIRED CLASS in high school. REQUIRED!!!!
Let's stop telling them that they should have things for free. Nothing is free
Right instead of bs classes about gender studies
They ARE required in our state (Missouri). Financial literacy is a core requirement for high school graduation. But the real lessons are taught by example at home. I didn't see a good example and didn't have much support at home, so I had to pay my own way very early on. I learned to budget really fast. I decided I wanted something different for my family, and we've taught our children well.
Parent's job.
I wish Gail was available when I was growing up. My father knew about how money works but never shared it with me. I grew up in the years that females got married and stayed home.
That is downright cruel of parents to do. My parents were very transparent about money and life in general. They still are. I’ve seen all of my parents tax returns, their investments, retirement accounts, monthly income and expenses, Quicken finance data, all of it. They are the reason I was able to buy two homes by the time I was 27 and why I’m able to manage money as well as I do. Also why I’m so focused on retirement planning and saving so I can be work optional in my 50’s. Hiding good money habits from your kids is a disservice.
I wish my husband and I had had something like this when we were their age. Then again, we were their age in 2008, so stable jobs was more of a concern than budgeting. Oh well, we did get ourselves on track and hubby has a career, not just a job! Feels good after struggling.
" My parents bought me anything i wanted" she said...but didn't teach her anything about money..great parenting lol.
Lol it’s not that the parents never made her pay rent is that they nevr told/taught/showed her how to be responsible with money wtf

If he’s a business major (marketing) then he should understand the value of the dollar. I was also a marketing major you have to take a lot of money centric classes like macro and micro economics and accounting. Come on
Cutting up cards after you make sure your balance can be paid OFF by the 6 months/0% introductory offer (you have to do it within 5 months, because you get one last interest chunk on month 6)-to take advantage of THEM is FUN!
Good for you
There is a reason why people give you weird looks when they hear you are 21 and married
Well and they said the reason they married so young was "God", so you know it's weird religious stuff
They wanted to consumate duh
The only people I ever knew who got married young or shortly after entering a relationship did so because they were super religious and really wanted to have sex without sinning. I wouldn't mind if the legal age to get married was raised. No one needs to be married before they're allowed to drink.
The joke with my boyfriend of 4 years (met at 18 and 22) is that if we needed to wait until marriage we would be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary! In all honesty I think we would be married by now if weddings weren't so damn expensive, we would rather be homeowners before sinking 20k into one day
I was married at 21. Been together for 10 years this year. Having our first kid this year.
Why marry so young when you can’t afford it
Can’t afford what? They are young adults who should be self sufficient whether or not they are married.
Religion
They wanted to fork! They should have waited till he graduated to get married
I think the woman’s parents need to put their foot down where their daughter is concerned. She is so spoiled.
Umm …. No. She is married, and if decisions are to be made in the marriage they should involve the only two people in the marriage. Exception: consulting a marriage councillor.
They work together so we’ll. I hope they lasted as a couple.
Noooo he needs to focus on school. They have enough money but she is irresponsible. Let's sell those Chanel earrings.

He needs to work part time!
Not real Chanel.
They can make their choices. Either work more, or spend less. Apparently he agrees that she deserves the earrings.
They are probably fake.
Omg those are private loans!!
I would have been more happy to see her have that smirk off her face. He is far more into the process and she seems to think it's a temporary measure. Yes a 5-year update would provide a lot of feedback!
Why would you be happy to see someone pissed off?
There could be pain behind that "Smirk" some people are good hiding from their pain.
She is annoying

She looks way too clever to be this dumb
My husband and I want to be millionaires so we’re hustling with our businesses. HOWEVER, we’re teaching our sons that they won’t be given whatever they want, whenever. Instead, they work for their money. We’re teaching them skills they can use to survive in the event something happens to us. When my kids want something, they work and budget for it. We provide the work as parents and they take over.
I see a bright future for these two.
Baby girl you are the bread winner and supporting him you'll be supporting him forever
I supported my husband when he was finishing college and it was totally worth it!
Yet no one says this if the genders are reversed
If you make the decision to get married while one or both halves are full time students you have to acknowledge the fact that there is most likely not going to be a full time income until after graduation. It should be a conversation that happens before marriage and you plan to live like students
I doubt they're still married.
The guy says God is their relationship’s foundation. The girl says she doesn’t want him to work because they need to attend church. Very interesting 🤨 … What the church teaches is the opposite of their lifestyle
They should have waited until AFTER he finished school, got a job, worked there for awhile to marry. Sorry but it's true.
Omg they are poor so they need to save until their income grows. Omg don't fail a class after two attempts they charge more for the class. I had a friend who failed stats twice. Ouchy. The third attempt cost him a lot more money.
Is charging more for a class if you've failed a Canadian thinh? I've never heard of that.
@@jenniferpearce1052 if you receive financial aid, you have to pay out of pocket for repeated classes. Even in America. Happened to my nephew.

Where are they now?
Now they are advertising aimed at kids for credit cards, a huge mistake in my opinion.
I’m glad to see Gail makes them repay their student loan debt unlike how it is now, with government bailing people out of their loans🙄
Must be wonderful to have parents you can ask to help with money.
Omg, today the young want the best of the best all at one time. Married in 1972, furniture was a 250.00 dollar bedroom set, a fifty dollar table and chairs, everything else was from somebody else and it was stuff they wanted to be rid of. We bought a 250.00 stereo, had a used TV. We drove and old beaten up car, and when baby number one came along we received a used crib, a used walker, and a few baby clothes. Oddly with only hubby working and a low income, we still had money left over between paydays. The expectations of people who are getting married today are ridiculous.
Yep, got married young, and lived on $1000 a month, everything we had was hand me downs, yard sales and lots of waiting.
Are these figures adjusted for inflation? A $250 stereo in 1972 would be $1800 today 🤣
Susie Orman said that if you don’t buy one $6cup of coffee a day at Starbucks or wherever Starting at the age of 25 by the time you retire, you would have an extra million dollars. Make your own coffee at home.
It's madness.
Kinda surprised she married this nice, not very ambitious man. She doesn’t seem to think she needs to earn the big bucks herself.
Most women under the age of 50 aren’t very financially savvy.
They need to re-read the scripture since GOD brought them together. Greed is a sin!
I recognize the city and school.
This title is wrong. They are not teenagers.
I hope that’s a nervous laugh. Those numbers are not funny
She looks more than 21....what a dreadful outlook to take all ur life to pay off debt
On 5k a year you got that many things?
I wish they took the relationship rescue better. What would they do if.... (Some disaster)
The consumer world tells us that happiness lies in buying things. One has to make a conscious decision not to get drawn into this illusion
Most people shouldn't get married until their thirties.
$36k isn’t enough to raise a family and he is still in school 🏫 hopefully she doesn’t get pregnant 🤰 but marriage the risk goes higher
I liked this couple. They owed the least of all the couples, I believe, so that $5,000 will knock off a huge chunk of debt.😊
How do people not understand how to change? Just stop spending.
The world seems to be full of adults who have never grown up. How can anyone aspire to just live off of a husband's income and not have to work again, you can't think much of your husband if you want to work him to death to indulge you like daddy did!
Ok … so who takes care of the kids?
People can aspire to what ever lifestyle they want. Weather or not reality allows them too is dependent on their work to achieve that goal.
Or like the husband who only lakes 5k and IS living off his wife.
He’s livjng off her though so 🙈
I would’ve challenged them to sell all the junk that they buy at his yard sale to reduce their debt his action, figures or her things that she buys all her extra clothes and all that stuff I would make money at the yard sale to reduce that debt fast
Do people not math anymore? How do they think spending more than they make is fine and nothing bad will happen?
This may just be a generational difference, but I can’t understand why somebody past grade school age would spend money on action figures or fantasy figures or whatever the heck they are. Toys are what they are, and you have to put needs ahead of toys.

To be fair to Gail, that daft girl wanted to be a stay at home mum with a personal chef and a housekeeper which would cut the workload down a lot!
Try being an ER surgeon and then tell me which is harder.
So few stay at home moms today are taught how to do the job, though. Those skills have largely vanished, and young moms now don't know how to clean properly, don't know how to organize the day's tasks, don't know how to garden, can, preserve, can't cook, bake, sew, knit, darn, repair, can't plan meals to make the most use of leftovers and get more meals out of what they have....and with all that, my mom and aunts and grandmothers looked after ten kids, usually a new baby every year, without much if any help. Fathers worked and did yard work and did discipline and that was it. Today, one or two kids and the moms are overwhelmed and screaming for help, and the kids are still out of control, ill mannered brats.
