      They'll be divorced in a couple of years. But it's crazy how people buy stuff using there credit cards and not paying it off. This guy is clueless. I worked hard made great money and stayed in my lane then my back went out had a few surgeries and unable to work again. I didn't have any debt thank goodness until hospital bills started coming. Then I had to start using my retirement savings. My point is that there is no guarantee that you can go to work to pay for that fancy thing he can't afford. Basically if you can't pay for it you can't afford it. Not including a home or car. Even though I did pay cash for my truck. This show just shocks me on how many couples live outside their means.

    It's wild to me that the husband wants to work super hard to buy things he actually can't afford to show people who don't even live near him how well he's doing. That money could be going toward their kid's future (i.e., trust fund, college fund, etc.), a nice family vacation, etc. but nope. He slaves away so he can pay for a bunch of crap that will be outdated or out of fashion in a few years.

When you are young it is time to plan for the future, save and invest. While i admire his capacity to work hard, i am not sure he fully bought into it. I think his mindset of working hard to pay for it later is going to continue working against him. Like that's a mindset that he has had all his life but i do hope he will prioritize getting and staying out of debt so that his own son doesn't grow up with the mentality that just because you work hard to pay if off later doesn't give you a free pass to get into all so much debt.

    • @CaraMarie13
      @CaraMarie13 Год назад

      @tpedrotti to the majority of us, that's an obvious concern, but for people who grew up in an environment where the expectation is that you will work until your body gives out, the thought of hard working till you drop only means that there will be work. Am from the Caribbean and work, specially good paying work, is very hard to get. When the majority of us move to a country like Canada or the US we do so with the hope that we find work and that we will have to break our backs day and night. Thsts a prospect thar brings no fear and there is a lot of pride in labor. Is usually the younger kids who challenge that mentality as they get older. David is a great example of the dangers of that mentality.

    People live right on the edge of their budgets & when the wife is again pregnant you lose the 2nd income. You don't drive an expensive vehicle whilst you have a huge debt but that car soon loses value & the lustre of looking nice soon after. A car is a car & it gets you from point A to point B. Look at Running Costs Vs Purpose & you soon realize a smaller car does the same job as a huge gas guzzler.

    1 million for retirement lolloI In Canada I think the dream of retirement where you just pursue all the stuff you couldn't do while working is dead. On my math based on our lifestyle. We have a budget meeting at least once a week-we'd need 2 million not including the house value is what we'd need to retire in 2024 still working gigs to keep our standard of lifestyle (we work from home, I'm a chef and do all our meals and make products stores charge too much for, if we need something we try to thrift it first. We have many friends that have gigs to make property taxes and emergency repairs etc. in retirement so if your young plump up your pensions and prepare to learn a task to make $$ to pay for big $$ things in retirement
