LOVELY!!! The same atmosphere as in the original version of Horst Jankowski but this time a little bit more lively. This is just what the original version was missing. Thank you for playing this.
Thanks for an awesome rendition. I remembered the name of the tune, and was reminded while I was watching "MeTV." It was background music in a 1961 episode of "Perry Mason." I suppose I was 10 years old when I made it my goal to learn how to play it. Unfortunately, I stopped taking piano🎹 lessons, at Chicago's "Lyon Healy, in 1965. although my desire to improve was always with me. Now, this tune is another tool I can use...to keep my brain exercised. Thanks again. 😃
You have a rare gift brother playing the piano while anybody who gives you a thumb down or boo's you they only wish they could do what you do you are a skillful musician and that is a beautiful thing brother👍
I can hardly express how glad I am you posted this gammaseven! Outstanding tune, well executed, I remember loving it when I was a kid, listening to dad's Scott tube amp pushing his AR3ax speakers. The world needs more of this kind of wonderfulness! It just makes me feel good, and this performance of yours has intrigued and inspired my teenage son, who's turning into a way better keyboard player than me. What's not to like about that?
Last week i take a walk to Oberkirch in the black forest ...it starts to snowing....it felts like your playing...wunderbar !!! Grüße aus dem Schwarzwald!!!!
my son and I are planning a hike through the woods today and this song popped into my head...so I searched youtube Thanks man! Ready for that walk now!
I've had this song in my head all day! Thank you!!!!! I like you better than the original!!! What a talent you have!!! Live long and prosper! Raymond:0)
Wow... beautiful interpretation .. Perfect timing and not overplayed. The intro definitely gives that feeling of anticipation that you are about to go on quite a ride.. that something special is about to happen. Loved it!
I have one of the original pressings of this album and I have a first edition of the sheet. I love Jankowski's music - Nola is lots of fun, too. But this guy playing is indeed a fine performer and Jankowski would definitely have approved and applauded.
Gosh I wished I could play like that. You played it just as good as one of a pair of glitter n Blonde bouffont wearing sisters (from some country where they talked like ZaaZaa). They had a popular local lounge act back in the 1960's - piano n accordian. One sister just went to town on that song. The tune was very popular in that area between Springfield Mo n Table Rock Lake. But you sounded so good.
I like your rendition better than the original version by Horst Jankowski. Can I use your version in a music video of my view as I am walking to and from my mailbox in the morning? I would list you in the credits of my video along with posting your RUclips channel site for this song.
Thanks. I placed the blue screen with the "R.Jaybird.Smith" at the end of the video which I am calling "A Walk in the Morning on the Driveway in the Black Forest". If there is more you would like added, I can do that before posting the video on RUclips. Just give me the specified wording you would like me to add to the video. If there is enough room, I can place the additional information on the screen under the name. If not, I will add another screen to the video.
I posted the video. I used the screen credit at the end of your video. I hope the credit ( R.Jaybird. Smith) at the end of the video is correct. If not I will remove the video and edit it to reflect the credit you desire. The video is entitled "A walk on the driveway of the Black Forest". Thanks for the use of your music in my video.
Well, don't know that it's better than the original... different and every bit as enjoyable. Would like to hear this version with just a tiny bit more of the Floyd Cramer 'slip note.'
Sorry but I have never had a copy of Walk in the Black Forest. I just play it from listening to the music. I have a little guide sheet that lets me know the layout but the melody and chords are in my head. Best wishes anyway gseven.

Nice song and playing ! If you like this kind of music you might like Luca Stangl he's 13 years old and sings and plays the accordion from Austria ! Sometimes just instrumentals ! He's been on German TV several times ! He has had A RUclips channel for 4 years ! Check it out Luca Stangl .
Happy Holidays Your inspired version is great. Listened to it many times - celebrating my 40th year of personalkly designed christmas cards I Had to let you know how much your rendition of The Walk in the Black Forrest has meant to me. Please never forget how magic music is and how sharing it with others creates magic. thank you! Check out my music at The Manzanita Acoustic Band on My Space. Best to you - offer us more songs please! Brian
As a few have inquired as to what keyboard I'm playing, here is the answer. It's a Technics Pro500 ensemble piano which I purchased in 1995. As many of you probably know Technics i.e Panasonic the main company behind it no longer make keyboards. So your best bet is second hand. It was a great keyboard for it's time, but it was expensive at £1700. More modern machines can wipe the floor with it. The keyboard above it is a Ketron Solton ms50, which is midi linked to create another rhythm track .ok
I come back to this every year or so to give it a listen. One of my favorite tunes.
I have one word to describe how I feel about this song:
Incredible

LOVELY!!! The same atmosphere as in the original version of Horst Jankowski but this time a little bit more lively. This is just what the original version was missing. Thank you for playing this.

The idea that both brain hemispheres are operating in psyche has got to be the main thing making us "human".

+S955US84 .........Well... maybe not... But it's still a two thumbs up.
+S955US84 After a short trip around the Tube, I believe it is closest to Jankowski's style,; the other organs sound like Skating Rink Muzak.
