The lighting on this is brilliant, where he's cloaked in shadow with only the glowing bits giving any real idea of what you're looking at until he attacks. Gorgeous work.
I was working on Ithagnal but I had to pause work on them because I needed to focus on They Came From Dimension X. I *do* plan on finishing at least Ithagnal and Cthalha, and maybe the Lurching King (he gets requested a lot).
Amazing work, love his attacks. Really fits the Quake aesthetic too in terms of looks. Gotta ask though, what did you use to model, animate and code him into the game? I'd like to see a tutorial.
Modeled + animated in Blender. I did code this guy using Notepad++ but have since switched over to Visual Studio Code with the QC extension. I've been thinking of doing an enemy tutorial for Quake (since there really aren't any good ones IMO), I've just been very busy. That being said, all of his source files are available with his download on the Slipseer site (.blend, .qc) and up on GitHub for anyone to learn / copy / use.
I'm currently working on Volkerh, though I don't invest too much time into these mods. You can see my Volkerh progress here: twitter.com/BlueKeyGames/status/1519072313341362178?s=20&t=_RClZGXK6_TXRGa5-_5deA I do plan to eventually take on Ithagnal and Cthalha as well. I haven't seen any concept art from the Lurching King and he doesn't seem to have any statues or murals in "Exile", so I'm hesitant to assume an interpretation.
@@zonilo1 Goroth took over the Dimension of the Doom in the power vacuum after Ranger felled Cthon. I actually modeled Ithagnal but I'm having trouble with the gameplay design phase for them, in addition to focusing more on new playable champions and adding support for Dimension of the Past, Dimension of the Machine, and Scourge of Armagon. I'll probably try to tackle Ithagnal again after I add Dissolution of Eternity support.
@@BlueKeyGames Oh I've also just found out that Cthalha is the Elder God of the Fourth episode being the Elder World so she is it's boss after all and I wonder if you worked on her by any chance? I imagine Cthalha would be similar to Cthon but only with water or if her boss arena would be underwater with her swimming around or maybe both?
Goroth is supposedly worshipped by the Strogg to some capacity so it’s interesting seeing his physical form in-game, but in Quake 1

Finally, a proper boss fight in Quake
this is what I want in a reboot. Boss battles with the new elder gods.
This is brilliant!
That's pretty cool man
Don't... stop... moving!
Can you create all Quake Champion's Ancien Gods ?? Nice job !

Goroth was a bad dude.
This is awesome
YO that's fucking siick

Could've been a fitting episode boss.
I felt like I was the only one reading qc lore, I’m glad I’m not
fuck yeah
Can you make all other vadrigars from qc? I mean lurching king, volkerh, chtalha, ithagnal?

But not have coloured
I think this is Episode 3's or Netherworld's boss?
Only if The Elder World also had a boss I think Shub-Niggurath already filled that role?
Goroth is actually the Elder God of the Dimension of the Doomed. The Netherworld is the domain of Ithagnal.
@@BlueKeyGames I thought Dimension of the Doomed already had a boss being Chthon?
Then where's Ithagnal then and how come you haven't done him yet?

"Goroth" by Andrew Hulshult for Quake Champions!
@@BlueKeyGames huh, it sounds like Goroth! But it sounds different. An alternate version?
@@trashrat8365 Nope. Just slightly recut to fit the video but otherwise unchanged.
