What i like about indie comics is every story is able to take from every type of story telling medium without any publisher baggage to be a certain way. Great stuff!
Thanks for the recommendations! Gonna have to check most of these out. I love Radiant Black and it's super easy to get into as someone who also loves Invincible. Can't wait to see more of this series. I actually backed Nocterra on Kickstarter when it was first announced (back when it was called a different title but can't remember what it was) and tbh I thought it started a little slow, but the more we learned about the universe the more I got captivated and the more I fell in love with it. I picked up Once and Future this year, I only read up until the first arc but I loved the holy hell out of it. Can't wait to keep going, such a cool concept and Dan Mora is one of my favorite artists working today. Man, James Tynion IV really does have one of the strongest resumes in the industry huh? I love most of what he's put out, though I have not yet gotten to The Nice House on the Lake, I wholeheartedly agree with the other two entries he's attached to that is on this list.
I agree with so much of this. Ninjas & Robots, Bloom, and By the Horns were all really good Indies, imho, as well. Barbaric is a solid pick. That book was amazing. I can't wait for the second volume.
You should check out Transmetropolitan, Project Noasis, Jupiter's Circle/Legacy, and 1 other that I really enjoyed but I can't remember the actual name. It's a team of superheroes called the 7 guns, I believe, and 1 of them becomes the bad guy and starts to kill all the world leaders. Irredeemable and Incorruptible are awesome series too
@@UltimateChance I didn't think of that lol but I hope you do more of these. I think I'm more into indie comics can the main publishers. Mark millar and a few others are amazing. Blacksands Entertainment might meet the mark since they kind of just started. You should check them out if you haven't heard of em. I appreciate your content

Thanks glad you dug! I do try to hit up indie videos a lot too =)
Agreed. Some of Marvel or DC characters have over 50 years of backstory which makes them confusing in their continuity

We Live, Nocterra Barbaric, and Department od Truth all made my top 10 of 2021. Good report.
Hell yeah!
I agree with so much of this.

All really good stuff though most are older so wouldn't make the 2021 list. But I do enjoy them!
