Dope album. Still have it on vinyl. Delicious Vinyl! Heh.
The Ice Cube sample is from "Horny Lil' Devil" which is actually about mixed-race relationships; specifically white men going after black women. Not really Cube "talking about what a killer he is"! The full line is "put his dick on a wood block/Swing swing swing, and chop chop chop". From (I believe) Ice Cube's best album, "Death Certificate".

Man I was obsessed with hop hop staring in the late 80s. Masta Ace was early fav of mine from Juice Crew. Take a Look around is such an incredible album. When Slaughterhouse came out, I had a few songs from it from the radio like Jeep Ass Nigga and Saturday night live but I never bought the whole album. Although he’s parodying a lot the west coast shit, G Thing/Chronic actually came out right around the same time so in no way could’ve been dissing the Gfunk/Dre shot since it his album and Chronic came out with same few months of each other. Another slept of classic of his from this time period is Bside.

Technically not true. There was a lot of West Coast stuff that was incredible back then. Ace was more making fun of the gangsta rap that was popular back then. Most of those tunes were sampling Zapp too, as does this track. I like the way it takes that sample and makes innovative use of it. Such a cool tune in so many ways.

This hits the nail so dead-on for a early '90s gangsta rap parody/satire that it's scary. Ironically, when the song came out, people thought the first half was actually real, and would be singing it like it was the anthem (Murder, murder, murder, kill, kill, kill), which is even scarier.
