The foxbody lean, seats broken! Multi function switch, resistor failure in the ecu, ashtray door, there's quite a few, but I would still pick a Fox over anything else!!
Door window bushings and guides, rattle when going up or down. Steel braided brake lines are a good upgrade, Stiff HVAC knobs, a little more effort turning them. Weather strip - ALL, just old & dry. Arm rest pads, worn & flat from years of use. Sagging headliners, Again 30 years old. Lights - all there not bright enough LOL. These are some of the little things with my 93' GT
Do it, most are not hacked to “hell” and back.. when I got my 2 owned so three , 6 years ago in highschool all the problems it had was solved by this channel and LMR RUclips.. best MECH learning car next to HONDAS
Biggest thing to remember when changing your door strikers. Becareful taking them out because behind the door striker is a square opening with a loose square nut. The nut can fall into the quarter panel cavity. Don't forget to use an erasable marker to outline the original position of the door striker before you take it off if you decide to replace the entire striker new. You want to have a flush door to fender and quarter panel fit. You can also keep the original strikers and just replace the plastic cylinder which the door locking latch strikes onto.
I really wish someone like LMR would come out with a QUALITY heater core we can use. Everyone knows you can't expect much more than a few years out of the craptastic aluminum ones you can get now. There are so many really nice high dollar Fox builds now. This community deserves a better solution!
and repo the original shape of the heater core hoses. i replaced the 'box on my 1986 Gt, outdoors, one winter. that gave me all of one hour a day to work on it before it got dark. in 30 degree weather. took a few weeks to get it done, and then i tried to find an original shaped hose before i gave up and hoped the ones available were OEM quality if not OEM shaped.
Things I have done: water temp sender for the gauge to work. The membrane for the dash cluster, headlight, fog light wiring pigtails. Ignition switch and replacement pigtail. Transmission tailhousing seal. All window rubbers and window motors. And of course, all that was mentioned in the video. However, it’s been relaxing working on it in my shop. LMR is getting my money $100 at a time😂
I had to replace my clutch cable recently since it broke on me and while I was replacing it I also replaced the quadrant. Surprisingly my plastic one was still in fairly good shape
3:57 I ripped the sway bar mount bracket off the frame in my '83. Give me a winding road through the hills any day. Quarter mile runs weren't my thing.
I’ve had like 3 heater cores replaced in mine. I bought my black LX 5.0 new in 93. So having it for 30 years I’ve done all of the replacements Caleb suggested.
Have been around the fox since I was young and finally bought my first 85 gt hatch. Got to know it real quick and I love it. Greatly appreciate the content brotha keep it up for generations to come 👍
when my ignition switch went i could see how it was falling apart i decided i never wanna do that again so i bought an ford motorcraft switch...checked all the metal ears to the plastic and tighten them then put small amounts of jb weld (yes on a new switch) to hold all in place...5 years later never a problem~!~~
For the lock actuator you can just change the assembly. No need to mess with the rivet. Great video though. Almost everything you said I had to replace.
and i'll add, wear thick gloves. I did a roll down window setup on my 1986 Ranger pickup, and naturally no one bothers to file down the edges of all the stamped metal inside...i probably had 5 band aids on both hands by the time i riveted the mechanism back together again.
I’ll ignore the Dodge in the background 😁. Looks like a 66/67 charger maybe? Pickup in dizzy going out and/or tfi module has been a thorn in my side. Had issue with the lifetime warranty ones🙄. The vacuum hard lines are SUPER brittle now. I daily a 90 GT 5 speed all stock except air filter and mufflers 225k miles still on factory clutch. Clutch cable broke replaced ign switch 2x(zip tied last one still working) fuel pump @201k and pump relay(gave problems put original back) And when I say daily I commute to work 60 miles one way 4 days a week . I don’t just run to corner store once a week lol. Ceramic brake pads, keep oil changed and keep riding!
i'll toss in here, on 1986 Fords, the voltage regulator in the guage panel goes back after 127,000 miles. result on my turbo t bird, ranger pickup and GT mustang is you come to a stop and the temp guage pegs out. by about 130K all the gauges peg out when you come to a stop. lucky it's not hard to replace, except you have to pull the gauge panel and then monkey with the clip holding the speedo cable. after you've done one, you get how to do it :)
Don’t drill actuator rivet. Pop actuator out bottom of bracket, lube new rubber bushings and pop in from bottom. Any Dorman or aftermarket actuators are junk and you’ll be back in the door soon. Go to to junkyard and look at 80’s 90’s ford power lock vehicles. Can even get a metal bracket to replace the broken white plastic one
I’m puzzled on why the clutch pedal was so smooth when the plastic quadrant was on my fox. After it broke, I have replaced it with two different aluminum ones and the pedal is so damn hard. 🤷🏼♂️
All great lil things Caleb!!! and lots more in the comments for sure lol...from the "Been there Done that" Fox Owners. Fox Platform cars are so easy to work on, some exceptions lol....I usually just roll from front to back replacing all the small stuff....Not a daily & I dont think many are any longer, I just go to LMR ..order all I need "100 bucks ish" and replace as my build moves along....Side note , has anyone tried heater cores from other cars/trucks? Id be curious to see if anything else may fit/work? Just an idea....have a great day everyone
I’m having an issue with my power seat on my 92. The switch has a wire that broke off. I cannot find a replacement anywhere. Or anything on how I could fix this issue. Any advise?
Them old stearing racks with worn out tie rods really need to be checked.Real all the rubber bushings by now should be gone by now especially in rear control arms.
The one that got me for awhile was the relayswitch behind the taillight!!! 😂 i fought that car for a month then finally found that switch!!
The foxbody lean, seats broken! Multi function switch, resistor failure in the ecu, ashtray door, there's quite a few, but I would still pick a Fox over anything else!!
Great tips buddy!
Gangster lean, ftw.

Man those window bushings are such a pain, I appreciate the input!
Planning to buy myself a fox when I get my drivers license ur content really helps me in issues and how to plan for them
Glad it helped buddy, good luck on the hunt!
Thanks man cali gas might hurt a bit though

So true. They’re needs to be a much heavier duty replacement. It is a total nightmare replacing a heater core.

Journey in fact did not begin :(

The dreaded light switch, and for the hatch owners, the rear struts always quit.

When in doubt, MOTORCRAFT!
Dude I really appreciate the help it's definitely given me relief not hearing my front end sound like it's gonna fall out from under me 😂
Good comprehensive video Brother!

Good point!

Love your channel bro. You have a lot of knowledge that helps this Fox community. Thank you
Live these videos. Never thought the door latches could be the rattling im hearing!
This this ignition switch is a common problem on the OBS F1 50s. I had this problem in mine 92.
I’ll ignore the Dodge in the background 😁. Looks like a 66/67 charger maybe?

Thanks brother. New fox body father, so you have info is super helpful
I use the heater code video as a guide to replace my heater core

Window alignment on my vert and driver side top frame rail is sagging. Been giving my a huge headache. Still love my fox though. 😅
Always keep a extra TFI module in your foxbody ✌️

That damn ashtray 😂
Yeah, that’s why I replaced mine with the cup holder set up 🤣
@@jeromesiddle I used black two-way tape, and taped it shut!

That ragedy ash tray lid lol
🤣
Thanks for the info, but what's the fix for the rear lean to passenger side and why it doesn't sitlevel
Very good stuff to go over
I wish Caleb would have mentioned the trunk pop button nit working I. 93 cars. I've been chasing my tail in this one. 😂
Capacitors in the ecu is a common issue also..I had an idle issue that I could not figure out and after replacing them my problem went away
Door handles.. iv owned several fox mustangs and farmonts all have broken door handles
Back when my Dad owned my Foxbody he put on Chrome Door handles from 1990 Crown Vic. Still work well today. Decades later.
Facts, they are terrible! The new LMR door handles fixed that 😎
Fuseable links and headlight switches

What about the dimmer switch?
I’m having an issue with my power seat on my 92. The switch has a wire that broke off. I cannot find a replacement anywhere. Or anything on how I could fix this issue. Any advise?
Is there not a way to repin it or reattach it? I'm not very familiar with it
I would solder the wire back if possible
Is it possible that bad door pins lead to leaks when it rains?
What wheels would fit for this set up?
Do you sell any parts 😂 I need those door panels outa that blue car you showed the door pins on
Door handles more likely the drivers side ...
I have not replaced any of these parts yet. Will probably have a massive failure one of these days.
Air bag modules
Map lights
My 91 foxbody goes in reverse but won't go forward
I think I have replaced ALL of those things!
