Hearing you collaborating with Tim Pierce is rolling a lot of emotions. Now I know for certain it's going to be amazing. Love your interactions, they're honest and quality.
Tim Pierce brought it... he's a killer player. I have watched Tim's channel on and off and some stuff hits or misses, but his chops are always solid ... I am glad you pushed him as he has more tricks in the bag. Interesting on the peak and valley... a true pro.
His mastery, in every single way, on the guitar is just super-human. I cannot think of an element of playing - from feel to technique to, well, anything, Tim Pierce is not a master in. It's difficult to even grasp. But, the proof is in the outcome. Amazing.
Tim Pierce's self awareness is next level. I'm not sure how, but seeing the background of how songs came together makes them sound way better and more interesting to me. This was already a great track, but it's like I'm not hearing it with a new understanding. You were amazing in Nashville!
The peak and valley analogy was tremendous, and mind blowing. You pushed and he climbed the mountain again, and just WOW!!! Great song, great album, great channel, great video, great guest artist!!! 🤘🎸🤘
I love hearing and seeing this process! As a guitarist for over 30 years with limited studio experience it’s fascinating to see how the sausage is made. I feel capable of moments of brilliance but I’m still working on fitting the pieces together, striving to get my hands to produce what’s in my head in real time. Maybe someday!
hey sorry for the assumption but perhaps you should look into learning your scales/modes on every position on the fretboard and how to connect them, that way you should be able to have more flow in your improvisations , my guitar teacher Theodore Ziras taught me that and it helped me out quite a lot!
I really could sit back and listen to tim create new content all day long. I joined his course a while back and im bad about just sitting back and watching him play even just in his tutorials. He is so impressive even when just doing lesson videos. He has a presence about him.
That swell and those double stop like chord smears are heaven - Tim is so surprising to watch as every single thing he plays sounds album quality, even when he messes it up. Legend
The moving into a valley and then climbing out of it reflected so much in how approached that solo. It was right in the feels. Like Yeah I am going fucking get back on top
I'm glad you guys used your newish singlecut there. Tim can make any guitar sound great, I'm sure. But that guitar is pretty special. Extraordinary tones seem to flow from it rather easily. Amazing playing that hopefully garners the attention it deserves. You guys BOTH rule!
Those tools I call my History in learning different techniques of play. Love the collaboration. This is truly how music is written. Me and my Co Writer do the very same thing. And have made some pretty awesome stuff like this. 😊 Good stuff you and Tim are doing !
Love this. Tim not being on the top 250 is kinda insane if you think about his contributions. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite guitarist ever. So humble, kind, and talented. And a wealth of knowledge
Best takeaway for me was the tip to get your balance right in the mix when you perform the take because you get ahead of the drums - for someone who is always ahead of the beat, I’ll be implementing that on my next session
I watch Tim's channel and I'm just a lowly amateur blues harp player...his tone, phrasing and attitude are the absolute greatest and I always learn something! ❤
great video man, love hearing you play, the album you put out is amazing also, I've been listening a lot recently and burn the witch might be one of the best covers out there right now, keep rocking out
My friend is a great session player in Nashville. I had this exact same experience. Im a decent guitarist, but i was giving some very basic direction to a transcendent player for my song. It made no sense to me how he's so good. Each take was completely different, perfect timing, amazing tone
This is incredible, and super fun, and reminds me how much I love the electric guitar, I don’t play as often as I used to since I’m a piano player now Thanks for taking the time to do this and I can’t wait to go listen to your album ! Also, I couldn’t help being reminded a little bit of one of my favorite records of all time which Tim Pierce is on, did anybody else get a toy matinee vibe from any of those licks?
Great video - thanks for posting. Tim Pierce is a genius. RUclips - sucks! 6 ad breaks playing this - too many. A lot of people would give up before the end!!
Tyler, this is awesome. As you know, or you should know, everything is connected. I just saw your Jam at the end of Dave Grohl's Everlong video and the one you put out three days ago. To see this all coming together through this one that you posted 10 days ago is a testament to this connection. Very cool jam on that video, I recall a conversation recently where Rick beato mentioned the Dynamics of chart topping songs and how they are built and without skipping a beat, Dave Grohl came to mind. Everlong is awesome and extremely inspirational, thank you Dave. Rock on.
can i just say that has to be one of the most elegant looking guitars ive ever seen just the way it shines under the light, omg that top is so sexy!!!!!!!
What I like about TP's playing is it's just all so tastefully done. It's never flashy in a 'look at how I can play' way. It's just always well mannered and sits and blends really nicely with the track. I suppose that's why he's on so many records, he knows how to make it sound so effortlessly soulful and emotive without it jumping out of the speakers in a brash way. It must take years to find that balance, because I expect it's a bit of a tightrope walk, to have it fit in with what's playing but also to get the listener to feel that emotion that he's projecting. (Sorry, struggling to find the right words and that last sentence is getting dangerously close to psychobabble.)
Wow! It's amazing to see the creating process of such an amazing guitar player as Tim Pierce. Really makes me feel better about myself, because I basically have the same process (just slower :))
Amazing!! I was on a livestream with Tim the other night for Badcat Amplifiers. I run the unofficial Badcat page on Facebook. But anyways I met Tim he is the real deal very nice guy! those licks sounded amazing. What amp or amps was he using? curious if it was a Marshall or Badcat. Or a combination of amps and pedals?
It don't matter how long or how many takes it takes, it's the process and not excepting anything less than what you know is inside you, taking it to the outer limits of your technical capability without showing off and feeding the listener with sweet musical inspiration. Now I don't mind the fact it takes me more than a couple of takes to not play before the beat 😊. David Bahar Edinburgh x
Loved that double-stops lick at the beggining of the solo. Sensational. Also, you can see there, the finesse of a session guitarist, to ask the composer of the song, what he thinks, and to think and re-think the structuration of the licks on a solo recording, and get the best combination to build a solid speech, full of emotion, content and to make good connections, that make sense from one lick to the other, and in the view of the overall solo, into the song. Trying to make the perfect solo to match the song, that's the craft. As rock and pop guitar players, sometimes we underestimate the power that a good double-stop lick can have on a solo, it changes the flavour right there, and then you go back to those great blues licks. Really enjoyed this episode. Hey... how about you try and get Steve Lukather to make another solo in your album?
Tyler, your music inspires me. Amazing guitar work on everything there and the depth in your production/instrumentation is just beautiful Nice work, Tim but of course it is. What else would it be?
Great video, Tyler. And entertaining as well. Showing all the takes and how you two collaborated was interesting and educational. It must have been difficult to choose what elements to use. Thanks
Awesome view into the process! Also good to know that the pros make mistakes once in a while. Interesting bit about the peaks and valleys….that hit home for me.
Watching him play is like watching Tony Scott skate or Danny McAskill ride a bike. The level of mastery makes it look like it's nothing but it is the very highest level one can achieve doing a single thing. He has speed, control, spontaneity, edginess, perfection and dirt all at the same time. It's fun to listen to this. No comparison to the hordes of lifeless shredders and bland blues-dads floating around YT. This is the real thing.
You taking inspiration from the Grohl video makes me wish you would take inspiration from the “They Built My Dream Guitar” PRS private stock video! The piece of playing near the middle of that video is one of my favorite things I have ever heard. That absolutely needs to be a song
Cool, just found it on Spotify. Good job. I did feel like the leads were too low in the mix on most songs and the drums were too loud. Or maybe the ambience was too loud in the mix. But interestingly, Tim's solo on Into the Dark was at the right spot in the mix. I enjoyed the songs tho.
Which guitar manufacturer/model, which amp, which mic or were you going straight from amp to DAW or amp to preamp to DAW and which compressor were you using?
My old vocalist Larry Leon back in 1985 went to Germany to record an album with Tim Pierce. Ricky Philips and Scott Sheets. It was an amazing recording. I’m a guitar player and I am so jealous of the fact you get to have Timmy playing on your track. You are one lucky mofo. I am a metal guy but Tim has been one of my favorite guitar players ever since 85

Whoa, what an experience, and for us too Tyler. That final solo is just perfect!
Wow Tim those runs touch the ears of my heart. So perfectly played and “ human” sounding.Thank you Tyler and Tim. ❤️✌️
The peak and valley analogy was tremendous, and mind blowing. You pushed and he climbed the mountain again, and just WOW!!! Great song, great album, great channel, great video, great guest artist!!! 🤘🎸🤘
Awesome Tim is the man! So nice, so good just a great guy! Thanks Tim. Talk soon joe

Tyler dressed up for his upcoming part as Mike Reno in Working for the Weekend: the story of Loverboy.
He identifies as Mike Reno
We’re the lucky ones.
I think he's got a skin cancer lesion or had something surgically removed from his right eyebrow area and he's covering it up.
@@Mudder1310 amazing comment
@@markweber4854 an asshole threw a bottle at his face while he was walking down the street

I love finding out more about session musicians! The true heroes of recordings that we all love.

Dude this was sick. Seeing the process and watching a master of their craft ... Awesome
The moving into a valley and then climbing out of it reflected so much in how approached that solo. It was right in the feels. Like Yeah I am going fucking get back on top
This was phenomenal! Never gotten to see the process like this. Much appreciated and much respect for you and Tim!
Nothing better than to watch masters of their craft in music! Awesome!

I'm pretty sure John petrucci wasn't on that list... That list is garbage

If onlY! To actually have that much facility on the guitar. Beautiful! Thank you for this one! Tim is an amazing player and person.
I want to play that guitar so bad. Both Tim and Tyler seem to absolutely love it.
I really learned something here. You are both great teachers, and hot damn Tim is just an amazing musician.
It’s always fun to watch a fellow guitarist nerd out on something. I am glad you got the opportunity to work with Tim
That was SaaaWEET! Music is a gift to be shared, and compared, & you guys are kicking azz. TY. 💚
That second take is pure magic!
I just checked out your album on Spotify. Man, that's some good stuff!! Excellent song writing! It just rocks! Fantastic job man!
Thank you. Love you and Tim. Great collaboration and look behind “the curtain” - and an inspiration for sure. Rock on…🤘🏻
I watch Tim's channel and I'm just a lowly amateur blues harp player...his tone, phrasing and attitude are the absolute greatest and I always learn something! ❤
Tim not only makes it out of the valley, he takes everyone with him.
Dude… your living THE DREAM. AWESOME. TIM PIERCE IS SIMPLY THE BEST

Tim’s playing is so sick
Chills at every solo!
Looks like a fun time. Tim is a great guy.

Tim is a gem, always good for a smile and several unusual twists, ❤
That headband looks so cool!!!!
My absolute dream job. If I could play half as good as Tim I would be soooo happy.

That advice about the Valley - absolute 18 karat Gold. I thought it was just me and I was terrible. I shall now soldier on regardless.....

Tyler, just down d/l your new drop. Great music especially the tune with Tim Pierce. TY

Soooo awesome 🙌🏻
Wow. Just freakin' wow!
Tim is truly Yoda level.
His final solo reminded me of Alex Lifeson style a bit.
Such a cool video. Instructive on man levels. Even in terms of what defines a solid performance!!!
If there was a Grammy category for Best RUclips Production in Music, you just won it.
When you said intervals I thought about David Gilmour his solos are like that also Tim really nailed it guitar Jedi
Thanks for the awesome video 👏👏. What inspired your cover art and the use of the protea?

Totally agree studio tracks can be messed with and "punched in" thats what separates studio from live performances
Your a lucky man to have Tim for a friend. 😎🤓
Thank you, both. Wonderful!
Woew best ever !! 😮
Guess ur very young
Well that’s one way “to get outta the valley.” Sheesh like an F1 ripping through the chicanes.
LLLLLLegendary. Sublime. Tim Pierce sweetness.
So good this is amazing!!!
I don't believe Tim sits when he's in his cockpit. I believe he's levitating.
Tim Pierce = the sound if Larry Carlton & Steve Lukather had a child. I know, not possible. :)
I don't think anyone enjoys playing more than Mr. Pierce.
Tim Pierce is win!
OMG thank you for this insight into the process. The struggle is real
Great track, great playing, What's that Guitar Tim is playing ?? 🤔
Great stuff. The hardest part for me is coming up with drum tracks I like. How do you do it?
The burn the witch cover is pretty damn sick!
Superb!
Sweet! Thanks Tyler.
Play ALL the way through like a REAL man! Grrr
Such a cool vid! Thanks!
It is sick to watch a wizard spew his magic.
Which guitar manufacturer/model, which amp, which mic or were you going straight from amp to DAW or amp to preamp to DAW and which compressor were you using?
Great solo bro. !!!
Soooogoooood!!!
What brand of guitar is Tim playing?
Tim Pierce is worth a Sub!
