I wouldn't assume that you should change your outlook on things to match mine but my opinion is the world would be better off if we all stopped looking at what someone looks like on the surface & started having conversations before deciding who a person is or if they're morally sound & kind. My boys will learn that first impressions are illusions & not to judge someone else for any reason. They're aware that you never really know someone until you actually know someone & that can take some time to establish. They know that it's best to treat others the same way they expect others to treat them. They know that sometimes it's better to smile & wave at those who wish to judge them before ever really knowing them. I think I'll stick with my ideas of which people are good role models for my boys rather than yours but I appreciate your input & concern.

I dont look it anymore. But I grew up on the poor side of town. Most of the guys I know that ended up looking like that had great moms. It was more of the school system and the crowds they were around that influenced them into actions. Once you go to jail or get addicted to anything it's hard to get started again. One of my old friends is experiencing that right now. That said there is usually only one parent in a decent amount of people's lives growing up.
