I was really astonished when I visited this series of mall in Nan Shan area of Shenzhen back in early 2018! Then again in the Bao An centre featuring another mall 壹方城 by a more local developer.. What impresses me most is the beautiful finishing of the ceiling of modern malls in China. See, even the part under the escalator is nicely done with lighting lines.❤

I wonder. It’s got a lot of floors… but I feel like west Ed is still bigger, especially with the theme park, water park, theatres, etc etc. the food court was pretty small at mixc. Fun to see all the different stores ( aside from the luxury brands)
The shopping mall in Humen, Guangdong, I visited last year had electric cars in a showroom, expensive cars. We got something to east but didn't buy anything else. Another friend took me to a clothing outlet building where she bought be some shirts and pants. Fun times.
this mall is huge and nice clean, and there are famous brand like Tom Ford, Saint Laurent so beautiful clothings which even in Vancouver we don't have , I don't know why a lots of famous fashion brand won't open a store in Vancouver?
I think Vancouver in Canada just doesn't have enough people to sustain some of the posh stores you find in China. It is a city eerily quiet on a supposedly busiest day.

Kirk. I wonder what it cost for me to mail a pound of bacon to Nanning? I stayed at a hotel in Luoyand and they had real bacon. I had a local friend come for breakfast and it was his first time trying bacon and they also had aunt Jemima so I showed him bacon and syrup that day. He must have eaten 2 lb.s of bacon that morning! Then, sad story he got cancer and died. He was such a kind and gentle soul. He was training to be a doctor in Beijing. But the smile on his face eating bacon is a lovely memory I cherish. Love MixC - flying into nanning next month and spending a week in the marriott, so will take a stroll over. Such an amazing city. The Japanese BBQ place there is so good.
We've got a massive MixC mall in Jinan, Shandong, where there's a brilliant Maolu Sechuan restaurant, with fantastic food. We also have a couple of Ole supermarkets, where you can get a French baguette for 15 yuan, although they're only about 4.90 yuan in Da Yun Fa (K Mart) We go there for bacon, cheese, baked beans and cornflakes.
Alcoholism is rare in China, most Chinese don't drink alcoholic beverages in spite being sold everywhere. Sipping a beer while walking in a straight line on the road means not drunk. When Chinese drink they mostly eat a lot of food at same time, and they don't drink everyday, most drink only when there's something to celebrate.
I don't know exactly how many middle classes Chinas has. Assuming the country has 450 millions people that are middle class, it's already richer than the US. US has somewhere 340 million total population and how many of them are middle class? That's why European and US companies want to enter for business.

Taxes, costs of food, transportation, housing etc are higher in Taiwan which means that the Chinese Remimbi goes further. My country Singapore has one of the highest per capita income in the world but it's also the most expensive city in the world. The cost of living presents a better picture of which country lives better.

Is it possible to forget food you are used to? I se people looking for a American burger when they travelled to Thailand. I myself only eat good delicious local food. I try to find new favourite dishes and can't say that I miss other food. Even the breakfast can be really delicious compared to expensive tourists breakfast near the hotel areas, what do you think? Can coffe be changed to tea in the morning, bread to some noodles or rice dish and not craving for old habits 🤔
I can’t compare bacons because Canadian bacon is all I know. One thing is that bacon tastes different when you are camping and out in the fresh air waking up early in the morning fighting off the lingering chill from the eloping night, the smell of coffee with the slices of bacon on the open fire frying pan, there’s no better taste of bacon in the world.

Canadian Bacon is not the best either. It is what we call 'Streaky ' Bacon; what in the UK we put over a roast Chicken or Turkey. A true rasher of bacon has a 'body' and a 'tail'. Lovely shopping Mall. I can see the Chinese are oppressed.
If you want good back bacon in Canada you just need to find a farm and buy a good supply directly from them. We knew a good one in the Laurentians when we lived in Montreal. The same goes for maple syrup, meat, all sorts of things. Buy it direct from the producer, not in the supermarkets, and you will find excellent quality.

Until the day they are abolished for good, Hukous function as subsidies to rich regions hosting the factories, because migrants and their children can't access any social welfare in the places where they work.
