Her voice is fabulous here. I saw them in Newcastle very shortly after this show, 42 years ago! And I've still got my poster of Debbie hidden in the loft where my wife can't find it, don't want any awkward arguments about who is my number 1.
It's like falling in love with this band and, of course, Debbie Harry all over again. When she wiped herself down with those two scarves and threw them into the audience, I would've passed out from joy right on the spot if I had been fortunate enough to catch one.
This show got both me and my mother into Blondie, several decades apart - as a kid, she was allowed to stay up later to watch New Years stuff, including this, which hooked her in. Then when I was in secondary school, it was mufti day and a girl I liked at the time was wearing a Blondie t-shirt. I remembered seeing the name Blondie on the tape my mum made of this show, so I played it so I could see what the music was like, and got hooked myself :)
What a band! What a venue! The Apollo was a vortex. The balcony bounced like a base drum, and the front row of the auditorium was a turnstyle holding back back a Hampden crowd. Sucked the last dregs out of every performance. Ask Brian Ferry!
Once l had a love ...it was Blondie ....to crushing on ..that was divine ... Now and past l am so in love for all the times ! Blondie, and you and me that's good ! Oooh yeahhh ! Blondie, and you and me forever ...., yeaaaah ! ....Ououh ! Ouhhhh! ahaaa !....
The last song “Sunday Girl”, is obviously missing footage. You can see video footage taken from the previous performances used to fill in the gaps. Is there a more complete video of this performance?

@@MrEchoes1962 Thanks! I never new they played that many songs! Too bad there is no video for the other songs because Deborah Harry looks and sounds good in this concert.
My uncle sneaked me into this one and a few others, his buddies worked in the old Appollo theatre. I remember some of it and can't forget Debbie, mesmerised by her beauty and talent, as a young kid then just starting secondary school. She really was a superstar and had it all but their record company really screwed them over for years, which was ridiculous. Chris got unwell for a while at their peak, I’m sure most fans know the story but if you don’t it nearly ended their relationship and the band for good. If not for all that, they may have done a lot more but thank goodness they got back through the 90s. That said, if old school like us/me that remember them fondly and play their songs to this day, that's a major achievement ❤ Interesting fact, her birth mum was Scottish, Mackenzie clan, albeit she had to give her for adoption as couldn't cope or something. Her true parents and guardians were the Harry's. Anyway, we will take it as another little claim to our very small nation that has produced a lot of talent and inventions the world is better with and takes for granted now, although of late we have produced practically hee-haw, only crap politicians (that’s close to nothing for non-Scots!). 😁
this version was aired at BS2, a japanese TV channel and the japanese characteres gave a quick band profile as band members and music chart infos. I watched others videos of same concert and for me, this one has the best sound quality.

Are you saying Ferry would say that the Glasgow Apollo was a great venue to play?
He said it many times. Watch the video of the opening number when they played the Apollo (I think it was the Take the High Road tour.)@@davidpope327
Queen played there best ever show musically only a few weeks earlier
Wow!!
Love it! Thank you!

Debbie and Chris really good. But how did Frankie manage to make that thin scratchy tone through a JCM800? Sounds like a cheap practice amp.
I'm a big fan of Infante's contributions to the band, but never been a fan of his tone. Doesn't match with Stein's at all
