they were always very balanced in the mix, you can barely hear Chris on the rythm parts but he's there if you listen carefully and thickens the sound, then on the solos he stands out on his licks.
I agree. Very talented and not always credited for that. Sadly our bodies age but our spirit and soul seem to develop. Strangely strange but oddly normal.
The way blondie was meant, felt and played by the musicians. Absolutely authentic! But the ingenious way to erupt the essence sneaks through... how beautiful!
As a young 22 year old, a woman, and a big music fan, this woman and band has paved the way for me. Everything about Debbie had/sex appeal, everything about her, what a performer! As a lover of music and a young girl, blondie are everything and the best musical group I have loved and listened to. My love for this band is beyond limits. The day we lose Deb will be a tragic day, what a woman.
Yay! Debbie and whole band was so original, sound original, great musicians, fun and yet serious but oh so much fun! And I agree about Clem Burke.. I still think about his drumming when I am slowly learning it now years later.
That was their first european tour, they came to England and everybody was blown away. One ýear later they put out "Parallel Lines" and we expected somethinf good but that 3rd album took everybody by surprise. Great teenage memories.

All the 'disco glam' was as much Blondie as the 'punk roots', which any real fan should know was never really true. They made the music they wanted to make. All you fools can take you punk rock guide book and stick it up your there with your heads.

This is the best early Blondie I've seen such amazing live performance showing their amazing talent before they were famous. Debbie is an amazing front woman - totally lives the performance.
Not only did they study music and singing, but they actually learned it For example, teachers at school not only want pupils to study the material, but to actually learn. The thing is, once it is learned, it is never ever forgotten.

This is an awesome show. Debbie Harry's singing in this show has elements of a 1970s Patti Smith vocal style. Jimmy Destri at times sounds like Ray Manzarek of the Doors. Clem plays Keith Moon-inspired hard-hitting fills... Blondie was fun as a punk band in 1977. This would have been a very fun show in person. I also like the sound that Blondie developed with Parallel Lines and after, but early Blondie was raw and rockin'!
The more I see of this band the more I am impressed and I saw them when they first broke out. All accomplished musicians and the drop dead gorgeous Debbie, no way they were going to fail..
No way in hell they were gunna fail, as a young 22 year old, all of their music is still in my daily music rotation. Debbie Harry is completely unique and unmatchable, as a fan of Britney Spears, Madonna, you name it, no one will ever come close to the sheer talent and performer Debbie was and still is. Debbie Harry is the reason I have chased my music, played my guitar and sung songs. She is everything, she has been for the last 40 odd years, she paved the way for every woman in music today, whether she knows that or now. I cannot express the respect, gratitude and love I have for Debbie, she's changed the game, and it will forever be different. No hate by the way, I'm all love!
