    Good Evening Garrett,
You are a gem of a person, so genuine, so people’s person, I guess that’s what makes me see only your design channel and nothing else because you have set a benchmark and besides it’s hard to find an authentic person like you. I personally believe that you can be any achiever but unless you are a genuine human it’s hard to connect and stay put. Glad and blessed to find you, I learn a lot from you, not only about the design but about being warm, humorous, respectful and loving being, so big thank you for everything:)
It’s a brilliant video and makes all sense.

In the 1980s my mom used a medium-heavy weight fabric to accent a wall (not what it was called) and she used liquid fabric starch to “paste” it to the wall. It lasted for years and looked fabulous the whole time.

In a recent video, you covered lamps in the kitchen. I am right in the middle of a kitchen remodel and you inspired me to get some additional lighting besides ceiling can lights and under cabinet lights with the purchase of a pair of sconces flanking the window above the sink. I don't have the counter space to spare for a lamp, because almost all counter top, except for a foot flanking each side of the sink, with cabinets above all the rest of my countertops, but the sconces gives me some accent lighting while keeping what little counter space, without cabinets above, free. Fortunately, I decided this while the electrician is still laying wires and wallboard have not gone up yet, so they can be hardwired in. Thank you for the inspiration!

Accent walls sounds like extra cleaning to me😂 so I don’t. Here in Australia we have gyporock walls that go up and get undercoated then painted. I don’t understand America and the orange peel look. I do have the textured ceiling (I know I know) but my home is from the 90s and I’m too old to care to change it as it’s in really good condition. Whenever I sell or go out feet first 😂 someone else can change it. Thanks again Garrett for another great video. Hope the new years brings all things good for you.

I can't believe I have found a designer that thinks like I do. I'll be watching more videos to pick up tips that I have not yet thought of! Meanwhile, I totally agree with the flat walls (no texture). We opted for that during our remodel and the contractor said they would not be able to do it well and it would cost a lot of money - we we ended up doing it ourselves after the contractor delivered something that resembled Bundt cake icing in some places and a very aggressive knockdown in others. What a mess! It was a lot of work for us to do it ourselves, but we're so glad we did. I also agree with the wipeable flat paint. We opted for flat so that sunlight will be absorbed rather than reflected but there are some areas that get more dirty than others (such as near stairs handrails) that need fairly regular cleaning. And for our fireplace, we very lightly painted the top (face) of the brick, careful not to paint the grout. Since we kept close to the original brick color, it was more of a refresh than a true "paint" job. Since the FP is the focal point of the room, it was important to make it not look "painted" and cheap. I spent many hours painting each individual brick, but it does look SO GOOD. Thanks for the great video Garrett.

Another wonderful video. I couldn’t agree more about not using faux marble - I’ve seen it done in porcelain and laminate (and even a counter covered in mactac) and they all looked obviously fake. I’d rather have a porcelain counter in a solid colour. Or even well done arborite. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Collecting antique “authentic” vessels is the most grotesque exercise in mindless capitalism. Plus- the ppl they are copying, they made it look cool bc _those_ people are like “isn’t this neat? I found it in Omaha in a barn.” It’s that resourcefulness that is attractive, not someone’s ability and willingness to throw money away on old pots in a country where entire cities of people who work every day don’t have clean water.
ANYWAYS. I *love* a villain phase. I’ve never seen an accent wall (painted) that didn’t make me feel sorry for someone. I’ve had a habit of painting my rooms in deep colors and my closets in bright colors since throughout my twenties, but if you wear color it will affect the way your clothes look. Since I was a kid, I only wear black and white (colors look terrible on me) so my closet being a bright color doesn’t affect me. It looks really cool if you have lights in there and the door is closed, it looks like an ethereal portal.
    Great video.

Thank you for your bit on the accent walls and smooth walls. It’s all about the walls, in any colour as long as they’re white!🥰🇨🇦🫣 10:27 Have you discussed pot fillers? 😳

@@GarrettLeChic I must have because you’re popping into my life on a regular basis. I’ve just been through a window treatment selection process for one sliding door/wall in my living room. I have a simple 2 bed townhouse, where, on my own, I have never nailed the curtain and rods in a satisfactory way. Now, post renovation with new floors, cabinets, bathroom, paint I decided to honour the improvements with professionally made drapery. I recently retired and am on limited income but decided that it was time to do it right and let the $$$ figure itself out. $3,500.00+ Canadian, for thermal lined curtains with a rod that has tracking in it like hospital curtains! I will place the order in mid September and sing Happy Birthday to Me!😄
