Joe Avella question about American do u have offbrand take aways on streets like the local takeaway u would get after the pub cause we have tons of those we have less brands more pub takeaways in the U.K.
In literally every thumbnail Harry looks so happy just to be a part of this series whereas Joe looks like as if he's saying *Now this is some good sh*t*
Ben & Jerry's, Baskin Robbins, Auntie Anne's, Smashburger, whataburger, costco food court, IKEA food, Wendy's (when it opens in the UK soon), Jollibee (if the US has it), Tim Hortons....still so many that can be done
I thought they only existed in airports, where you will inevitably eat it because you're starving and all the other food is like a ten minute walk away
I miss Quiznos. It just always seemed to taste better than subways sandwiches. I don’t remember why but the one in my town shut down along time ago…The bread was always so crunchy but had a soft chewy inside, the meat tasted real plus the cheese was melted and always had a pull! The veggies I’d have put on my sandwich never seemed soggy, I love tomatoes and the slices were always crisp, plus the shredded lettuce never was soggy. The Quiznos I’d go to I remember the people working would always be in a good mood too! They’d occasionally throw in a free cookie with our order which was awesome!
For those wondering why we never knew there were Quiznos in the U.K. it’s because there are only two. One in Bromley and one in Kent. Side note. Who’s ordering those pizzas...
@@tazzysikder2176 Oooo maybe. I had a quick look on google as I didn’t know we had any and those were the only two to come up. Perhaps it closed during the lockdowns or just didn’t show up on google?
I'm in America and in my area I only saw 1 location I never eat it before and this was a long time ago and they closed it down and subway took its place i heard they went bankrupt and closed i had no idea they were still around i always wanted to try
The one in the shopping centre I visit most often closed in like 2011/12 and is now a noodle place. Remember it was OK when I went there once but memory isn't strong. It was a definite surprise when I saw it in a centre in Luton 2 years ago as I thought it had gone bust
Holy crap, I freaking miss Quiznos _so_ much. They don't exist anywhere near where I live in the US anymore. I thought they were only in Colorado these days where it originated. But good grief, these sandwiches were my childhood.
To all the foodies out there, Pakora is any vegetable or chicken cut into small portions, dipped in batter (including/excluding indigenous spices) and fried till varying degrees. Please note that it isn't limited to onions, Harry.
When I saw this I did think "I thought Quiznos went out of business" and they did end up addressing that in the end. Last time I had it was in college because there was one within walking distance of my building. Apparently there are a couple locations within driving distance from me now.
Considering there are very similar brands in the UK and US (e.g. Lays is pretty much the same thing as Walkers), that would definitely be interesting. Send a few between the two so Harry and Joe can do like for like taste comparisons of commonalities, and then focus on exclusives with maybe discussion on why there's no equivalent in the other country. When taking international flights is at all... Not a ridiculous idea... I'd also be very interested in seeing Joe visit some UK specific chains (also, more local stuff. Ideally at least one place that will serve a full English complete with the black pudding because dear god it's annoying seeing places advertise their breakfast as a full English and it not offering black pudding as an option, be that a pub or a cafe) with Harry, and Harry visit some US specific chains (also, less chain stuff like diners). Mainly because one of my favourite chains - Shakeaway - doesn't currently have any US stores if I'm honest. (And, yes, I know this channel has other series but the comparison aspect of Food Wars, plus Joe and Harry, are what makes this specific series appeal.)
My favorite part about Quiznos when I was you g were the bendy straws that could be bent into a full loop. Literally the only reason I want to go to Quiznos again (but they probably don’t have those straws anymore idk)
Used to have 5 Quiznos around me just a few mins away up to a couple of years ago. All of them are gone unfortunately. Used to be my favorite sandwich place.
Should be a minimum number of branches in the respective countries to qualify for this series? I have never seen or heard of a Quiznos in the UK, and I live in London
Onions are NOT the main ingredient in a Pakora that is Gram Flour which is mixed with tons of water to make a super gooey batter then you mix in spices and and depending on the type of Pakora you can mix in vegetables such as onions or potatoes or even meat then they grab a whole chunk of batter with the vegetables/meat inside it and throw it in to a fryer
Watching these videos have taught me some things... The US using way more plastic The UK doesn’t use a lot of ingredients like specific yellows and stuff.... However.... The UK rarely lists their nutritional information for their restaurants. So in the US we may have more calories and some bad ingredients but atleast we tell people hahaha
The bigger question is where is there a Quiznos in the US? They used to be all over the place and then suddenly disappeared. I genuinely thought they went out of business...
In the city of San Antonio, where I live at present. There is one Quizinos left. San Antonio is a big city. So that's an indication of how Quiznos is doing. I went there a few months ago. In the time since I've been Jersey Mikes I dunno how many times.
