If you want I pump for a pond I heard that it should be rated twice the amount of water you have in the pond for example if you have a 500 gallon pond you may want to get one rated 1000 gallons

I use duckweed in my pond. Of course the turtles eat it, but it keeps the pond crystal clear.

Plants and algae away for ponds works well for me
Water Hyacinth and water lettuce are two really prolific growers but you got to give them a head start before the turtles start eating them

I live in Ohio as well. Very close to lake Erie. Lots of nature. Perhaps you’ve heard of the Metro Parks are in my backyard. Anyway, my problem is raccoons. They eat turtles. I found out the hard way. How do you deal with carnivores roaming for snacks?
wire mesh over pond..if possible..but small enough size they can't put little hands through..they will reach in..nasty critters..
