  • Turtles are an incredibly unique group of reptiles that don't often get the attention they deserve. I am lucky to live in a global turtle diversity hotspot, here in the southeastern United States. This video highlights a few of the unique species found here and allows you to join Greg and I on a turtle-finding adventure.

A couple years ago, I stumbled upon a wood turtle while camping with friends. They are considered endangered, and are named for the gnarled, wood-like appearance of their shells.
A close second was the Blanding's turtle I found crossing a road. I carried it across in the direction it was headed, then continued on my way. They are globally endangered, but here in Canada, they are just considered threatened.

Love the way those barbouri look. Great camera work and editing in this video Gab. I gotta say, that alligator snapper had some Bowser characteristics.

Another amazing episode guys! You found some really cool species, that Barbour’s Map Turtle was prehistoric looking with those osteoderms. And nothing says dinosaur quite like an Alligator Snapping Turtle, that must have been really cool to find in the wild. I learned a ton as always, you present information in such an engaging manner and Greg is a veritable expert! I love learning from people who are true masters of their field, and Greg is most definitely a turtle expert. Great work guys!
