I been wanting a red ear slader I have a eastern box turtle she is so beautiful and she is shy near other people and she's a reascue. I'm 14 and I rescue a lot of turtles from the road and other bad places
Hey great video man! I found a baby painted turtle a few weeks ago, and I was wondering if you could tell me how much water I should put in the tank. (I have about 2 inches of water in there)
With proper heat and lighting and a good diet that shell will be looking like new in a year or two I rescued 2 Malaysian box turtles and the one wasn't even kept with access to water and being fed crickets only with no light so her shell was jacked but it's been 8 years and her shell almost looks perfect like the damage never happened
It looks to me like someone got a bunch of small or hatching turtles and while they kept them alive, but sub optimal care was given. That color muting is very telling. I wager that you are going to see such a huge difference in them once you get them in your full time care and Sunshine. For the Map turtle, before using a dremel on her, I might try giving her snails to eat. You may have to crush a few at first to get her interested and present them to her. Would be less traumatic. Excellent rescues! Love that African Mud / Sideneck. Really nice.
Thank you for rescuing. All six of the turtles. I had two turtles for years. Neither one ever bit me. They make wonderful pets. Thanks for giving information. On each turtle species. Have a great day.
Great video 🤙🏽 Pretty sure that african mud turtle is a Pelusios castaneus. Also, try feeding Hikari Koi Wheat Germ pellets once or twice a week to help with shedding issues. Works well for me

Snappers should be housed with their own kind. They will attack other turtles. Especially Alligator Snappers. that happened to Kenan of Kamp Kenan. He had 2-3 turtles heds bitten, one he had to euthanize the bite was so bad.
Hey, I found a red eared slider in the pool skimmer and I have made a nice house for it. Right now it is growing fast and it is getting a ridge down its back. I that okay, or does it supposed to have a flatter shell?
It's probably cause you feed it to much. No hate ,like I did it first to because you see them begging for food and its so cute. Like if it has UVB and a basking place and heated water its probably that. Sorry for the late reply and if there are and faults in this. I would like to know how its doing now.💙
@@kobedevolder3894, Yes I have a UVB/UVA light and he has a nice basking place. He is so cute and I love when he dances when he sees me, it's hard to resist. Oh, he also has a keep warm light on every night.. I did some reading and found out that they shed their skin once a year because they are growing. And boy has my guy grown. I enjoy him so much.. I will always keep him in correct spacing and clean water..
@@ShelledReptiles sir that's becoz I am a aquarium hobbist but since I am from India I don't have the clear opportunities to adopt a exotic turtle reptile since the cost of buying a new turtle is not affordable

Nicely done to offer these turtles long term homes! Did you learn about these needy turtles from the Craigslist ad you posted?
